Sweden tries terrorist over Kasasbeh burnt, eyebrow scar identifies him
Ammon News - The trial of Swedish terrorist Osama Karim begins Wednesday, in the Swedish capital, Stockholm, for his role in the 2014 capture and subsequent killing of a Jordanian pilot burned alive in Syria.
The case is considered unique as the other involved in the brutal killing, which sparked international outrage at the time, are presumed dead, Swedish prosecutor Henrik Olin told AFP.
He now faces charges of "serious war crimes and terrorist crimes" for the killing of the Jordanian pilot, with his trial due to open at 9:00 am (0700 GMT) at Stockholm's district court.
On December 24, 2014, an aircraft belonging to the Royal Jordanian Air Force crashed in Syria.
Bringing the case to trial was the result of extensive cooperation with officials in Belgium, France and the United States, prosecutor Olin said last week.
Eyebrow scar
It was thanks to a scar on the suspect's eyebrow, visible in the video and spotted by Belgian police, that Krayem was identified and the investigation was opened, said another prosecutor on the case, Reena Devgun.
Other evidence includes conversations on social media, including one where Krayem asks a person if he has seen a new video "where a man gets fried", according to the investigation, a copy of which has been viewed by AFP.
"I'm in the video," Krayem said, pointing out the moment when the camera zooms in on his face.
The other person replies: "Hahaha, yes, I saw the eyebrow."

Al Hussein Society: An Exemplary Entity in Serving Humanity
During this week while the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, people and leadership, still exults the national Day of Independence, very passionate gifted children in Jordanian national dresses and hatta raising high the Jordanian flag equally and with great momentum celebrated the Day of Independence. During the end-of-year celebration, children with unique enthusiasm and joy echoed loyalty and gratitude in an institution which is but an exemplary entity and a source of pride. On June 3, Al Hussein Society – Jordan Center for Comprehensive Training and Integration (AHS), with an unprecedented gesture ended the year without the usual yearly graduation ceremony and instead organized end-of-year celebration. A gesture linked to a great achievement by AHS of extending its school years to the sixth primary class. An accomplishment which is but the outcome of the colossal dedicated efforts of the late Princess Majda Ra'ad whose name beautifully and most adequately crowned the name of the school 'Princess Majda Ra'ad School for differentiated Education.' Thus, the celebration commemorated children's transition to new academic highs. This much needed development in the comprehensive education system of AHS will best prepare the children and equip them with all the needed skills and knowledge for them to successfully move from their childhood stage towards adolescence in a new environment. On June 3, the memory of Princess Majda Ra'ad was best honored with the multi themes performance of the children. A performance best testifies that the efforts of Princess Majda Ra'ad in serving humanity were and will be always rewarding and alive. The performance was launched with approaching the Lord with the beautiful voice of student Ibrahim to be followed with a recital of Mohammad Jamal Amro poem 'The Rights of the Child' by a little angel Mariam whose brilliant passionate recital did eclipse her physical imperfection. The remarkable start of the celebration was followed with a joint performance by all the children through singing with strength and passion 'My goals' by Pierre Ja'ja', a song inspired by and reflecting the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). A performance that well reflects the success of AHS in educating the children and AHS staff on SDG in sign language. Certainly this performance together with the succeeding dancing and singing 'Ala Rasi Al Ordan' and 'Alordonieh' dedicated to the Day of Independence well reflects AHS ongoing efforts in disseminating awareness on good governance and good citizenship together with culture of peace and accepting the other. As customary, AHS honored its staff those with decades of service in an environment each member is valuable in realizing the goals of AHS starting with providing a safe, secure loving environment for the children. What represented indeed an added value to the celebration was the distribution of gifts to the children donated by an unknown benefactor who very well delivered joy to the children and their families. A unique joy which made one of the children Hassan to follow this author and show her with great pride the gift he received. Witnessing such an event involving children with so much peace and confidence with their inner selves expressing true happiness accompanied by their families proud of their empowered children is but a testimony of the remarkable unparalleled status, role and contribution of AHS. The celebration commenced with a documentary on how Princess Majda Ra'ad inspired AHS team towards complementing her efforts and realizing her dream in providing genuine comprehensive training and education to Jordan's loving children. And the celebration ended with AHS Executive Director Mrs. Annie Mezagopian Abu-Hanna promising to keep the legacy of Princess Majda Ra'ad very much alive with big emphasis on realizing and implementing SDG. Jordan's most valuable source of wealth is its human capital. Through its unwavering devoted efforts in serving humanity, AHS team best represents Jordan's wealth of human capital.
