OPEN// Egypt, France, Jordan hold conference call with Trump to tackle Gaza ceasefire
CAIRO, April 7 (MENA) - The leaders of Egypt, France, and Jordan held a conference phone call on Monday with US President Donald Trump on the sidelines of a trilateral summit in Cairo to tackle efforts to secure an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, ensure full humanitarian aid access, and facilitate the release of all hostages and detainees.
According to Egypt's presidential spokesperson Mohamed El-Shennawy, the leaders emphasized the need for a comprehensive political framework to resolve the crisis.
They called for intensified international efforts to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people, restore stability, and advance the two-state solution, he said.
They also discussed the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, with the leaders stressing the need to achieve peace in accordance with international law, Shennawy further said.
All parties agreed to maintain close communication on these critical issues, he added. (MENA)

OPEN// Egypt FM lauds distinguished relations with Greece
CAIRO, June 4 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty praised on Wednesday the deeply rooted relations between Egypt and Greece as well as the distinguished relations binding the two countries in the political, economic, and cultural domains. Abdelatty highlighted the upgrade of ties between the two countries to a strategic partnership that took place during the first meeting of the High-Level Cooperation Council in Athens last month that was co-chaired by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis. The top diplomat gave the remarks during a meeting with his Greek counterpart Giorgos Gerapetritis. The meeting tackled ways of boosting bilateral relations. Abdelatty briefed his Greek counterpart on the court ruling issued on May 28 concerning the land surrounding Saint Catherine Monastery, stressing that the ruling preserves the spiritual and religious value of the monastery and does not undermine the holy place or its affiliated historical sites. He made clear that the ruling explicitly upholds the religious and monastic ownership of the monastery and surrounding areas in a way that reinforces the monastery's sanctity and ensures its continued ability to perform its religious and spiritual mission without any changes. Abdelatty said President Sisi stressed on more than one occasion, most recently during his visit to Athens on May 7, that Egypt is committed to preserving the monastery's sacred status and protecting it from any infringement. CAIRO, June 4 (MENA) - Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli has emphasized the need to maximize efforts of the Unified Government Complaints System; given its vital role as a link between citizens and government agencies. The prime minister made the remarks as he reviewed a detailed report about the Cabinet's Unified Government Complaints System's work during May 2025. The report was compiled by the system director Tarek el Refaei. Refaei said the system received approximately 182,000 complaints and requests in May. Established by Presidential Decree No. 314 of 2017, the Unified Government Complaints System provides a two-way communication channel between the government and its citizens.
