Fairfield Twp. woman charged with desecrating graves
May 29—A Fairfield Twp. woman is charged with desecrating graves at Rose Hill Funeral Home and Burial Park.
Police claim that on Monday Christina Sumner, 42, purposely mistreated multiple graves at the cemetery, including removing flowers and tossing them aside, throwing rocks at graves, moving flowers from one grave to another, and removing American flags planted next to several graves.
In addition to being charged with desecration, Sumner is also charged with obstructing official business, both of which are second-degree misdemeanors. Sumner could face up to a 90-day jail term and $750 fine for each of the charges.
Sumner had a preliminary hearing on Wednesday in Area II Court and remains in the Butler County Jail on a $5,000 bond. She is scheduled to appear back court for an arraignment on Wednesday.

Along with the hit-and-run, police noted that Lopez-Infante has several outstanding warrants, including one in Williamson County for a probation violation for a theft arrest. Police said the vehicle involved in the accident, a Mitsubishi Mirage, was returned by Lopez-Infante, with front-end damage, to a rental business in Mt. Juliet May 19. "This crime was preventable and is the direct result of open border policies that prioritized illegal aliens over the safety of American citizens." Carach said that her son will be using a wheelchair the next two months and is hopeful there is no permanent damage. Bill Hagerty, R-Tenn., said O'Connell "condemned ICE's good work, promoted a fund to provide support dollars for illegal immigrants and their families in Nashville and even updated an executive order to fast-track the collection of all Nashville government employees' interactions with ICE." "It is indefensible that blue city mayors like Mayor O'Connell in Nashville have violated their oath of office by prioritizing illegal aliens over the law-abiding citizens they were elected to serve," Sen. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., told Fox News Digital. "The illegal alien wanted for a hit-and-run in Nashville that left a 21-year-old man wheelchair-bound is exactly the type of person the mayor is protecting. Mayors across the country have a choice: help get these people off our streets or jeopardize the safety of their residents." O'Connell declined to comment to Fox News Digital. Flags half-staff to honor Massachusetts airman killed during World War II
BOSTON (WWLP) – Governor Maura Healey has ordered all U.S. and Massachusetts flags to be lowered to half-staff on Saturday. The order was issued to honor Staff Sergeant Loring E. Lord of Somerville, who served in the U.S. Army Air Forces 642d Bombardment Squadron, 409th Bombardment Group, 9th Bombardment Division, 9th Air Force, during World War II. Lord was a gunner aboard an A-26B 'Invader', when his aircraft was hit by heavy anti-aircraft fire during a bombardment mission to Germany in March 1945. WWII bomber crash left 11 dead and 'non-recoverable.' 4 are finally coming home Those aboard the aircraft were buried in a cemetery in Germany. The remains were later discovered in 2018 and taken to a laboratory for analysis and identification. Lord's remains were identified in September 2024, according to the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency. Loring was born in Somerville in 1916 and enlisted in the Army Air Forces during World War II. His remains were returned to Massachusetts on May 29th. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. American flags and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts flags are ordered to be lowered to half-staff at all state buildings from sunrise until sunset on Saturday in his honor.
