Macron Accuses Israel of Committing ‘Shameful and Disgraceful' Actions in Gaza
French President Emmanuel Macron has accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government of committing 'shameful and disgraceful,' actions in Gaza, according to Le Monde.
In a special television appearance broadcast on the TF1 channel on Tuesday, Macron noted that it is not for Netanyahu to decide whether this constitutes genocide, but rather for historians.
'What Benjamin Netanyahu's government is doing today in Gaza is unacceptable. It is shameful and disgraceful,' Macron said.
During the interview, Macron stated that he was 'one of the few leaders who visited the Egypt-Gaza border.'
He also described the situation as 'one of the most distressing sights I've ever witnessed.'
Moreover, Macron criticized Israel's blockade of humanitarian aid causing the suffering of thousands in Gaza.
'There is no water, no medicine, the wounded cannot get out, the doctors cannot get in,' Macron added.
'We need the United States. President [Donald] Trump has the levers. I have had tough words with Prime Minister Netanyahu. I got angry, but they [Israel] don't depend on us, they depend on American weapons,' he added.
Since the beginning of Hamas-Israel War in Gaza in 2023, the Israeli strikes have killed at least 53,000 Palestinians and wounded more than 118,000, according to Gaza's Health Ministry.

Hamas Suggests Releasing 10 Living Hostages, 18 Bodies
Hamas announced on Saturday that it has submitted its response on a ceasefire proposal presented by US President Donald Trump's Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff to mediators, saying it is offering the release of ten Israeli captives held by the Palestinian movement. Hamas said in a statement that under the deal, it will release ten living Israeli hostages and 18 bodies in return for Israel's release of a number of Palestinian prisoners. All requests for amendments on the proposal were made through factional consensus, and it is expected that they will be accepted if there is genuine US pressure on Israel, they added. One key remark aims to prevent the release of Israeli captives only on two specific days in the first week, as outlined in Witkoff's proposal. Instead, the release will occur in stages, similar to the previous deal, to ensure the agreement is fully implemented over the course of two months, which is the proposed 60-day period. Other Hamas sources stated that the response was neither strictly positive nor negative but included precise comments to ensure that any final agreement meets the bare minimum of Palestinian demands.

Arab Ministers Condemn Israel's Ban on West Bank Visit
Jordan's Foreign Affairs Ministry has condemned Israel's decision to ban an Arab delegation from visiting Ramallah and meeting with Palestinian officials, according to Arab News. The ministry described the decision as 'a blatant violation of Israel's obligations as the occupying power.' Consequently, members of the ministerial committee decided to postpone their visit to Ramallah due to Israel's rejection of the delegation's entry through the airspace of the occupied West Bank. Katz's remarks follow Israel's announcement of the creation of 22 new settlements in the West Bank. 'This is a decisive response to the terrorist organizations that are trying to harm and weaken our hold on this land,' Katz said. Katz also noted that the new settlements would be a clear message to French President Emmanuel Macron and his associates: they will recognize a Palestinian state on paper – but Israel will build the Jewish Israeli state here on the ground.
