Total Health Solutions celebrates move to new Trussville office

The following article is by Chris Basinger, news editor of the Trussville Tribune:
TRUSSVILLE, Ala. (Trussville Tribune) — Total Health Solutions is welcoming the community to its new office, just a stone's throw away from its previous one.
Though it was a short move, the new space is three times the size of their previous office, opening up the opportunity to treat more patients and expand wellness services.
The Trussville Area Chamber of Commerce celebrated the grand opening of the new office, located at 3220 Edwards Lake Parkway, Suite 108, with a ribbon cutting last month.
THS is a direct primary care provider where patients pay a monthly membership fee to receive primary care services instead of going through health insurance.
'I think it's an answer to the expense of medicine. People can't afford insurance,' said Dr. Eddie Thomas, who is the physician at THS.
'This is not an insurance replacement by any stretch, but for people who don't have insurance, it gives them access to healthcare at a reasonable cost.'

Thomas, a UAB medical school graduate who has practiced medicine for over 33 years, developed a passion for the direct primary care model because he says it allows him to build personal relationships with patients by spending quality time with them.
'I did the 25 patients a day for 20 years and it's like triage, so [here] I get to spend a lot more time with people and there's no rush to get everyone in and out,' Thomas said.
'We don't want anybody to ever feel like a number,' he added, saying that he is always available to patients after hours and on weekends.
THS specializes in both internal medicine and weight loss, and patients are able to come in the same day to see their doctor.
'People can come in an unlimited amount of times. There's no co-pays or deductibles, I mean, by the time you go to urgent care twice you've already paid up for a year for a membership here,' Thomas said.
'If people have insurance, great, if they don't, then it's a lot better fit for them because it's $70 a month and for that they get their physical exam, they get all their physical exams labs including EKG and circulation tests. We have medication here that we sell and dispense that is as cheap or cheaper than a drugstore because we go directly to the pharmaceutical clearing house.'

American Olympic champion Gabby Thomas followed and heckled by gambler at Grand Slam Track meet

Three-time Olympic gold medalist Gabby Thomas said she was verbally abused at the Grand Slam Track meet in Philadelphia last weekend, the latest incident of harassment the American has reported this year. Thomas, who won gold in the 200 meters, and 4x100m and 4x400m relays at the Paris Games, said in a post on X that a man followed her around the track while she took pictures for fans and signed autographs, shouting personal insults at her. 'Anybody who enables him online is gross,' wrote Thomas. Thomas' post was in response to another on X which contained a video of a person heckling Thomas while she was on the starting line, shouting, 'You're a choke artist – you're going down, Gabby.' 'I made Gabby lose by heckling her. And it made my parlay win,' the social media user wrote, with a screenshot of two multi-leg bets on the FanDuel sportsbook platform. The track circuit said in a statement: 'Grand Slam Track is conducting a full investigation into the reprehensible behavior captured on video. We are working to identify the individual involved and will take appropriate action as necessary. 'We will implement additional safeguards to help prevent incidents like this in the future. Let us be clear, despicable behavior like this will not be tolerated.' Thomas finished third overall in the short sprints group for the Philadelphia meet, the third in the novel circuit's inaugural season. One of American track's brightest stars, the 28-year-old Thomas catapulted to mainstream fame after her breakout performance in Paris, gracing the cover of American 'Vogue' magazine and appearing on US talk shows. But Thomas has also suffered the darker side of fame, describing on TikTok this year how she was stalked by a group of men at several airports, as social media gives female athletes greater exposure. The incident at Grand Slam Track also reflected a growing link between sports betting and harassment, with female tennis players including Caroline Garcia pointing to 'unhealthy betting' as a key culprit. Major tennis governing bodies moved to combat online abuse and published last year a report that attributed nearly half of abusive social media posts to angry gamblers. 'Thank you for pointing out this disgusting behavior,' retired former world 10,000m silver medallist and NBC Sports commentator Kara Goucher wrote on X. 'You are exposing the crap that women go through and will eventually help other women as well.'

"Thomas is even changing diapers sometimes — except for no poopy ones," Accurso, who conducted the interview alongside her husband Mr. Aron (real name Aron Accurso), explained. "He's given her a bottle, he's burped her. He's just the sweetest with her." Accurso, 42, went onto share that Susannah is 'such a happy, smiley baby" and detailed how she keeps the little one entertained by giving her her very own private show of her YouTube content. "I had [Susannah] in front of me, and I was like, 'I want to sing her a song. Hmm, what should I sing?' And then I was like, 'Wait, this is my area,' " Ms. Rachel said. "I've been doing full episodes for her, just as myself!" On April 8, Rachel announced that she and Aron had welcomed Susannah via surrogacy on Instagram, saying 'we are so in love.' "Sometimes timing isn't what you plan and the road to get there is bumpier than you expect, but when you hold your little ones you know… I'm meant to be your mama,' she continued. A Man Allegedly Claimed His 'Severely Emaciated' Great Dane Was a 'Picky Eater.' Cops Say She's 'Grateful to Eat' After Rescue

Stella the Great Dane was rescued from an alleged animal cruelty situation in Florida on May 27, along with another dog At around 60 lbs. (about half of her recommended weight), Stella was "severely emaciated," crawling with fleas and visibly injured, but has since started to recover Stella's owner, Bradford Thomas, allegedly claimed she was a "picky eater," but deputies found that she ate plenty after her rescueWhen a Florida sheriff's office took custody of Stella the Great Dane, she was half her recommended weight and crawling with fleas. Now, she's 'eating like a champ.' The Polk County Sheriff's Office (PCSO) gained custody of Stella and another dog — a female terrier mix named Bella — from Bradford Thomas, who was arrested and charged with animal cruelty on suspicion of neglecting to care for them on May 27, according to a news release. Deputies with the PCSO made the visit after receiving word of a dog who 'was starving and in poor condition,' from the Auburndale Police Department, the press release states. Upon arrival, Thomas voluntarily surrendered the dogs, and they were both brought to the PCSO's Animal Control facility for treatment. When she was found, Bella, estimated to be around age 18 to 20, was allegedly suffering from severe flea dermatitis on her back, as well as hair loss. Meanwhile, Stella's condition worried deputies even more. The spotted gray Great Dane, estimated to be 8½ years old, 'appeared to be in severe pain,' according to the sheriff's office. She 'was severely emaciated, had multiple abrasions and scabs, was covered with fleas, and was suffering from severe pododermatitis (also known as bumblefoot) on all four paws," the PCSO said. A veterinary examination later revealed that she weighed just around 60 lbs. — about half of what she should weigh at her age and size, according to the PCSO. The last time she received veterinary care was in 2020, and at that time she weighed just 90 lbs. Stella's Body Condition Score — a tool used to determine if a dog is underweight — was an abysmal 1 out of 9, the vet staff determined. Thomas's 'excuse' for Stella's weight 'was that she was a picky eater' and 'didn't like to eat,' Deputy Jacob Durrance alleged in a May 29 update on the PCSO's Facebook page. Durrance strongly disagrees with this assessment. 'We fed her ourselves, and she was very grateful to eat. She ate a lot,' he said in the update video, adding that the pup 'was not a picky eater at all, like Mr. Thomas claimed she was.' In the two days following her rescue, Stella gained 8 lbs. thanks to 'proper diet and hydration,' the deputy revealed while petting the Great Dane. Plus, he added, 'you can obviously tell she loves to be loved on.' Her fleas and flea dirt have also been washed away since leaving Thomas' custody, but she still has a 'long road to recovery' ahead of her, Durrance said. 'We're excited for her prognosis. We think she'll get better,' he said. 'And hopefully, she can be adopted out when that day comes.' Never miss a story — sign up for to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from celebrity news to compelling human-interest stories. Following his May 27 arrest, Thomas, the Public Utilities Director for the City of Auburndale, was charged with animal cruelty and aggravated animal cruelty. 'The dogs and their former owner will be getting the attention they need and deserve,' Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said in an official statement. 'For Bradford Thomas, this behavior is absolutely unacceptable.' 'It is incomprehensible that someone in his capacity as a senior manager in a reputable and responsible local government would do something like this—starving and causing such pain for an innocent animal,' Judd claimed. 'We will do everything we can to hold him criminally responsible. We will also do everything we can to get these dogs healthy and thriving." Both Stella and Bella, the sheriff concluded, "are off to a good start — we pray it's not too late and they respond to medical treatment, nourishment, and love.' Read the original article on People
