
Antler's most premium line yet begins rollout in-store
Fast-expanding British travel brand Antler's quest to become a £100 million brand by fiscal 2029 takes a big step forward with the launch of a premium Heritage Collection.
The brand, which currently enjoys annual sales of £45 million, has lauched a collection described as 'a modern evolution of 110 years of British luggage excellence… where Antler's legacy of expertise meets the future of luggage design'.
The hard-shell collection claims to set 'a new standard for suitcase construction, blending archival details with modern materials', via the new Heritage Stripe Cabin and upcoming Heritage Stripe Trunk.
The former just-launched case is engineered with a premium-grade polycarbonate structure 'that offers strength without excess weight'. It said the robust aluminium frame and reinforced corners 'provide structural integrity and protection from impact, while also referencing a historic design code from Antler's legacy in trunk design'.
Arriving this autumn, the Heritage Stripe Trunk also 'marks a bold new chapter for Antler'.
Reimagining 'a classic 1950's silhouette for the modern voyager', it has a 90L packing capacity and is designed for 'voyage-style' packing, featuring a streamlined, zipperless design with integrated TSA-approved lock.
'Its distinctive shape offers a stylish alternative for those who require more space for longer journeys, seamlessly accommodating packing cubes and internal organisers to suit contemporary packing habits', Antler said.
Two new colourways, Sandstone and Basalt, 'are inspired by nature's enduring elements' with the former reflecting 'the warm, timeworn textures of British coastal landscapes', while the latter 'embodies the strength and resilience of coastal rock'.
Complementing the launch, Antler has also introduced the limited-edition Heritage Tote. The water-repellent organic cotton canvas and Scottish leather detailing 'present a smart exterior', complete with a secure internal zip pocket for laptop, tech and personal items.

After an initial slowdown in 2023, Moët Hennessy – 34% owned by British group Diageo, the world's leading spirits company – reported 2024 revenue of €5.9 billion, down 11%. The trend continued into the first quarter of 2025, with another 9% decline in sales to €1.3 billion. At first glance, the wines and spirits division might seem like a small contributor to the group led by Bernard Arnault. It accounts for just about 7% of total sales, far behind the fashion and leather goods powerhouse, and trailing distribution, watches and jewelry, and perfumes and cosmetics. But its share of operating profit is significant. Thanks to their high margins, cognac and champagne fit seamlessly into the world of luxury.

Trump says fresh US-China trade talks in London next week
The talks in the British capital on Monday will mark the second round of such negotiations between the world's two biggest economies since Trump launched his trade war this year. "The meeting should go very well," said Trump in a post on his Truth Social platform. The president added that US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer would meet the Chinese team. The first talks between Washington and Beijing since Trump slapped levies on allies and adversaries alike took place in Geneva last month. While Trump had imposed a sweeping 10 percent duty on imports from most trading partners, rates on Chinese goods rocketed as both countries engaged in an escalating tariffs battle. In April, additional US tariffs on many Chinese products hit 145 percent while China hit back with countermeasures of 125 percent. Following the talks last month, both sides agreed to temporarily bring down the levels, with US tariffs cooling to 30 percent and China's levies at 10 percent. But this temporary halt is expected to expire in early August and Trump last week accused China of violating the pact, underscoring deeper differences on both sides. US officials have accused China of slow-walking export approvals of critical minerals and rare earth magnets, a key issue behind Trump's recent remarks. India's Modi opens strategic railway in contested 'crown jewel' Kashmir
Modi launched a string of projects worth billions of dollars for the divided Muslim-majority territory, the centre of bitter rivalry between India and Pakistan since their independence from British rule in 1947. Nuclear-armed India and Pakistan fought a four-day conflict last month, their worst standoff since 1999, before a ceasefire was agreed on May 10. "Pakistan will never forget... its shameful loss," the Hindu nationalist premier told crowds a month since India launched strikes on its neighbour after an attack on tourists in Kashmir. "Friends, today's event is a grand festival of India's unity and firm resolve," Modi said after striding across the soaring bridge to formally launch it for rail traffic. "This is a symbol and celebration of rising India," he said of the Chenab Bridge which connects two mountains. New Delhi calls the Chenab span the "world's highest railway arch bridge", sitting 359 metres (1,117 feet) above a river. While several road and pipeline bridges are higher, Guinness World Records confirmed that Chenab trumps the previous highest railway bridge, the Najiehe in China. 'Our troubles' Modi called it "an extraordinary feat of architecture" that "will improve connectivity" by providing the first rail link from the Indian plains up to mountainous Kashmir. With 36 tunnels and 943 bridges, the new railway runs for 272 kilometres (169 miles) and connects Udhampur, Srinagar and Baramulla. It is expected to halve the travel time between the town of Katra in the Hindu-majority Jammu region and Srinagar, the main city in Kashmir, to around three hours. The new route will facilitate the movement of people and goods, as well as troops, that was previously possible only via treacherous mountain roads and by air. More than 70 people were killed in missile, drone and artillery fire during last month's conflict. The fighting was triggered by an April 22 attack on civilians in Indian-administered Kashmir that New Delhi accused Pakistan of backing, a charge denied by Islamabad. Rebel groups in Indian-run Kashmir have waged an insurgency for 35 years demanding independence for the territory or its merger with Pakistan. Modi also announced further government financial support for those families whose relatives were killed, or whose homes were damaged, during the brief conflict --- mainly in shelling along the heavily militarised de facto border with Pakistan, known as the Line of Control.
