Information Minister Participates in Global Media Congress 2024.
Abu Dhabi: Dr. Ramzan bin Abdullah Al Noaimi, Minister of Information, participated in the opening ceremony of the third edition of the Global Media Congress (GMC 2024), held in the United Arab Emirates, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the UAE, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court. The event was inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes' Affairs, with the participation of leading thinkers, experts, and specialists in the media sector from around the world under the theme 'Vision, Empowerment, Interaction.'
According to Bahrain News Agency, the third edition of the Global Media Congress 2024 features participation from more than 170 countries, over 200 speakers, and leading global companies specialising in the media industry. The event is organised by ADNEC Group in partnership with the Emirates News Agency (WAM).

l Noaimi highlighted Bahrain's commitment, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to strengthening international cooperation in the media sector. He emphasised Bahrain's commitment to fostering strategic media partnerships and the need for enhanced communication and collective efforts amid global challenges and rapid advancements to ensure the media fulfils its role responsibly and effectively.
He praised the UAE's success in hosting this global event for the third consecutive edition, noting that the achievements of previous editions reflect the congress's value as an opportunity to showcase global media trends, exchange expertise, and develop strategic visions to support and advance the media sector.
Minister Dr. Al Noaimi also underscored the importance of key topics addressed during this year's sessions, including challenges related to media credibility, digital trans
formation, global security issues, urban leadership, and the ethical dimensions of artificial intelligence. He expressed hope that these discussions would contribute to the development of media performance, its mechanisms, and innovative strategies to address global changes, challenges, and modern technologies.
During the opening ceremony, Abdullah bin Mohamed bin Butti Al Hamed, Chairman of the National Media Office, highlighted the UAE's commitment to advancing the media sector through cooperation. He described the GMC as a global platform for building partnerships, creating opportunities, exploring media transformations, and addressing challenges in a rapidly evolving landscape shaped by new platforms and technologies.

UAE Exempts 222 Citizens From $39mn in Debts
The UAE's Defaulted Debts Settlement Fund has exempted 222 citizens from debts totalling more than AED 139.879 million, following directives from President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The initiative, which operates under the supervision of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, targets retirees and social support categories. The Fund cleared debts exceeding AED 86.476 million for 132 retirees, whilst exempting 90 citizens under the social support category from debts totalling more than AED 53.403 million. 'The initiative reflects the wise leadership's vision to ease the lives of citizens and ensure them a dignified and stable standard of living,' the Emirates News Agency (WAM) said in a statement. The programme contributes to social development by alleviating financial burdens, supporting retirees and social support beneficiaries, and fostering family stability, according to the statement. The initiative aligns with the UAE's national strategy for sustainable development and demonstrates commitment to social cohesion and prosperity, with attention focused on those who served the country and the community's most vulnerable members. The Fund emphasised that the programme embodies President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan's commitment to alleviating financial burdens on citizens. It highlights his vision to ensure a dignified life for Emiratis, promote their well-being, strengthen family and community stability, and uphold the values of cohesion and solidarity that characterise Emirati society. The debt relief initiative supports financial and social stability across the UAE, targeting citizens who require assistance to maintain their standard of living.
