Lions coach Johnny Sexton insists there is no bad blood with Finn Russell following his disparaging remarks about the Scottish fly-half who is favourite to start for Andy Farrell's team in the key position.
Sexton described Russell as 'flashy' last year and said he would select Owen Farrell ahead of him for the Lions tour of Australia. Andy Farrell has since appointed former Ireland international Sexton as an assistant coach and the squad assembled in Dublin this week ahead of their match against Argentina on Friday night.
'It's probably been blown out of proportion,' said Sexton. 'We had a handshake and a brief chat.
'He was racing off because those guys who were playing in finals didn't stay too long. They came in, got their kit, did a little media and were gone.
'What the Lions demands of you is that if there is a rivalry — which there's not but if there was — you leave it at the door. I'm here to help him now. I'm here to give him experiences and answer questions.
'I'm not here to force myself on him or tell him what to do.'
Meanwhile, Owen Farrell has confirmed his move back to Saracens, just a year after leaving for French side Racing 92. The 33-year-old has signed a two-year deal to end his stint in Top 14.
'Saracens is my home and the opportunity to come back is one that excites me enormously,' the former England captain said.

Wild footy brawl kicks off after a woman and man get into physical clash on the sideline following a melee on the field
A rugby league match involving a host of former NRL stars descended into chaos on Sunday after a sideline scuffle spiralled into a wild brawl. The melee unfolded during the second half of the Round 9 Rugby League Central Coast first-grade clash between Kincumber and Ourimbah at MacKillop Oval. Tensions were already running high on the field, with one player from each side sent to the sin bin following a heated confrontation. With the game in the balance, an Ourimbah player was spear tackled, prompting a teammate to charge in and strike one of the opponents involved in the tackle. Minutes later, chaos erupted on the sidelines. Footage shows a woman involved in a physical altercation with a man, who is believed to be an Ourimbah supporter. The pair were seen pushing and shoving before the man was dragged to the ground from behind by another spectator. That incident triggered a brawl. A flurry of punches was thrown, and officials paused the match for approximately five minutes. Players stood back as the situation escalated beyond the field. Rugby League Central Coast board chairman Nathan Waugh confirmed an incident report had been submitted. 'We're aware of the incident,' he told News Corp. 'We have the footage that has been circulating and this has been passed on to NSW Rugby League.' Waugh said formal code of conduct charges were likely to follow. 'From that we expect code of conduct matters to be raised against individuals that are identified as being involved,' he said. 'At this stage it's an ongoing investigation.' He called the incident 'ugly' and said it had no place in rugby league. 'We never want to see that at any rugby league game or any community level sport,' Waugh said. 'Ultimately we would expect there would be consequences for those involved.' Despite the disruption, the game resumed and Kincumber held on to win 24-20. The Kincumber Colts released a public statement on Monday, addressing the incident directly. They said the clash stemmed from a 'misunderstanding between individuals known to one another'. 'It was not through malice or animosity,' the statement read. 'While the situation was concerning in the moment, it was resolved quickly.' They added that both clubs agreed not to escalate the matter to the NSWRL. 'Apologies were exchanged, and the match continued in good spirits,' the club said. 'Ourimbah and Kincumber remain committed to providing a safe and respectful environment.' Sunday's incident follows a dramatic start to the Central Coast season, with Kincumber making headlines for their powerhouse roster. The Colts have been accused of 'destroying' the competition after fielding five former NRL players. The controversy reached boiling point when Kincumber thrashed Terrigal 60-0 in Round 1, ending the match early under the mercy rule. Critics claim their dominance undermines the balance of the local competition. But captain-coach David Fifita defended his side. 'I know we will cop a lot of criticism but we're following the rules,' Fifita said. Boca Juniors vs Benfica descends into chaos at Club World Cup as three players are sent off in fiery game
The Club World Cup openers for legendary clubs Boca Juniors and Benfica saw the teams draw 2-2 in a heated match that produced three red cards, including one given to a player on the bench. Herrera was stopped and was shown a red card from head referee Cesar Arturo Ramos when he was relayed the events that occurred around him. Herrera had already been subbed off in the 20th minute with an injury, but looked more than at full health to try and talk with the referee. The teams were even again at 10 men after a red card was showed to Benfica's Andrea Belotti connected with a high boot to the back of the head of a Boca Juniors player. Ramos originally gave Belotti a yellow card on the play but was called over to review the play via VAR. After a few moments inside the booth, Ramos replaced his initial caution with a sending off. The final red card of the game came out in the 88th minute to Boca's Jorge Figal, who was late and reckless with a challenge near the touch line, right in front of a group of Benfica players warming up. One of the sideline officials immediately stepped between the group of Benfica players and Figal, with Ramos' straight red quickly displayed. The goals from Di Maria and Otamendi brought Benfica level, after they trailed 2-0 after the 27th minute. Benfica and Boca Juniors are in Group C with Bayern Munich and Auckland City. On Sunday, the German giants defeated the upstart New Zealand side 10-0.
