Now more bands have been added to the line-up, which is already being named 'the greatest heavy metal show ever' by music director Tom Morello.
Tool, Guns N' Roses and Rival sons are joining those set to appear alongside Chad Smith from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Andrew Watt, Dave Ellefson, Vernon Reid, from Living Colour and Whitfield Crane from Ugly Kid Joe.
The special event sold out quickly last week as a number of presales across the week attracted more than 100,000 hopeful fans.
Villa Park has a capacity of 40,000 so when tickets went on general sale on Friday, February 14, most were gone within minutes.
Black Sabbath original members Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward haven't played together for 20 years and will come together in the neighbourhood where their band started more than 50 years ago.
Announcing the gig on February 5, Ozzy said: "It's my time to go Back to the Beginning... time for me to give back to the place where I was born.
"How blessed am I to do it with the help of people whom I love.
"Birmingham is the true home of metal. Birmingham Forever."

Black Sabbath's hometown gig to be streamed worldwide
Ozzy Osbourne's final ever gig as Black Sabbath's frontman will be streamed worldwide after fans snapped up tickets for the hometown show, starring the original line-up, in just 16 minutes, the band said Friday. Osbourne, who revealed in 2020 that he has Parkinson's disease, will join Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward for the all-day "Back To The Beginning" show in Birmingham, central England, where the heavy metal giants formed in 1968. The July 5 gig at Aston Villa Football Club's Villa Park stadium will also feature sets by US rockers Metallica, Guns N'Roses, Tool and Slayer among others, as well as a short solo set by Osbourne. It will be the original line-up's first show together in 20 years and Osbourne's swansong. "With the concert ... selling out in under 16 minutes, those who missed out on being there in person can immerse themselves in what is set to be the greatest heavy metal show ever," the band said Friday. Fans were able to buy live-stream tickets from 3:00 pm (1400 GMT) on Friday for £24.99 (about 30 euros), allowing them to watch the concert live, although with a two-hour delay from the start in the arena, and continue to view it for another 48 hours. "We had such an overwhelming demand from fans from around the globe, who couldn't get tickets to the show, and they took to social media, pleading with us to broadcast a live-stream of the show," said Osbourne's wife Sharon. "Being this is such a historic event, we just couldn't let them down." Black Sabbath have sold over 75 million albums worldwide and are widely recognised as one of the pioneers of heavy metal music. All profits from the show will go to charities including Cure Parkinson's and Birmingham Children's Hospital. Osbourne's diagnosis led to him pausing touring. But Sharon told the BBC the Villa Park gig would be his last. "This is his full stop," she was quoted as saying. jwp/jkb/giv

Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath Have Good News Ahead Of Final Show
Can't make it to Birmingham to see Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath's final performance? No problem. With Ozzy Osbourne on vocals, Tony Iommi on guitar, Geezer Butler on bass, and Bill Ward on drums, Black Sabbath became synonymous with heavy metal in the 1970s, with albums like Paranoid, Master of Reality, and Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. And when the band fired Ozzy in 1979, the singer launched a successful solo career (while the band released some good albums with Ronnie James Dio, Ian Gillan and more). And on July 5, those legendary careers come to a close with "Back to the Beginning," a massive event culminating in the final Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath performances ever. The lineup for the event features performances by Metallica, Guns N' Roses, Gojira, Mastodon, Alice In Chains and more. There will also be a "supergroup of musicians," including such stars as K.K. Downing of Judas Priest/KK Priest, Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine, Wolfgang Van Halen, Steven Tyler of Aerosmith, and Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins. And you can watch it from the comfort of your home! While some fans will make the trek to Villa Park in Birmingham, England, to experience the show in person, the official Back To The Beginning website announced that you can watch the global all-day livestream. Access to the livestream will cost $29.99. You can also bundle the live stream with an exclusive "Back to the Beginning" t-shirt. The site notes that for Ozzy fans around the world to "experience this monumental event, the livestream will be delayed 2 hours from the in-arena start time. The stream will begin: 3:00 pm BST, 10:00 am EDT, 7:00 am PDT." Ozzy, who has battled health issues and Parkinson's Disease over the years, promises to give it "120%" in this final show. Singer, 27, Reveals How a Heavy Metal Icon Taught Him To Be a ‘Rock Star'
If you need advice on how to make it in rock and roll, there's no one better to ask than Ozzy Osbourne. Osbourne, 76, became one of the voices synonymous with heavy metal in the 1970s as the singer of Black Sabbath, delivering classic songs like "Iron Man," "War Pigs," and "Paranoid." And after the band fired him, Osbourne refused to say die, launching a solo career that gave us "No More Tears," "Crazy Train," "Bark at the Moon," and "Mama, I'm Coming Home." And Ozzy isn't afraid to help out the younger generation of rockers, which is why he ended up in a Yungblud music video. Yungblud (Dominic Harrison) asked Kelly Osbourne to be in the video for "The Funeral," the lead single for his self-titled third album. "I've known her for years, I met her in a pub on the circuit, on a mad night out - but she couldn't be there as she was on tour," the 27-year-old rocker told Louder. "And she was, like, 'My mum and dad will come.'" Not only did Ozzy and Sharon Osbourneshow up (they run over Yungblud in a car during the video), but they hung out with the rocker afterwards. "And he was like, 'You remind me a lot of me: you're mad and you're crazy and just lead with your [explicative] spirit,'" said Yungblud. Though their music is different, Yungblud said that people compare him to Ozzy because they both have an "unfiltered" attitude. "If you can be completely truthful, people aren't going to get it, and then they're gonna get it." Yungblud then said what Ozzy said next "hit me like a ton of bricks." "He said, 'You don't want to live your life censoring it, or don't be a rock star'. [Ozzy] said, 'You get this opportunity because you are not afraid to say the things other people will be. So when you stop [explicative] doing that, you ain't a rock star anymore'." Ozzy passed down his knowledge because he's about to call it a career. On July 5, he will perform his last solo show before reuniting with Black Sabbath for the heavy metal pioneer's final performance. And don't be sad-Ozzy said he's ready to give up the "rock star lifestyle." Related: Legendary Singer Says He's Done With the 'Rock Star Lifestyle' Copyright 2025 The Arena Group, Inc.
