UFC Hall of Famer Miletich pleads guilty to OWI: Scott County Court records
A 58-year-old UFC Hall of Famer who faces a felony charge of OWI – third offense has pleaded guilty and is scheduled to appear in court for sentencing, according to court documents.
Pat Miletich of Bettendorf, known as 'The Croatian Sensation,' and who also has been a sports commentator, was arrested after an incident Sept. 14, 2023, arrest affidavits show.
Scott County Court records dated Tuesday show Miletich pleaded guilty to the Class D felony of operating-while-under-the-influence, third offense, court records say.
In the criminal plea, he wrote that he operated a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and on two previous occasions in the last 12 years, he was found guilty or pleaded guilty to OWI or a like offense in Iowa or another jurisdiction.
He will be sentenced April 25 in Scott County Court, documents show.
The incident Sept. 14
Arrest affidavits say a pedestrian called dispatchers to say a gray pickup truck traveled the wrong way on Devils Glen Road in the caller's lane of travel, arrest affidavits show. Police say the truck drove over a grass embankment and parked at the Shell station, 3718 State St., Bettendorf.
Both the caller and Miletich were at the Shell station when officers arrived, arrest affidavits say. The caller confirmed the RAM 1500 was the truck that the caller saw.
'I observed the defendant asleep in the drivers' seat of the above mentioned RAM 1500 while it was running,' an officer writes in the arrest affidavits. 'The defendant left the vehicle in drive and had to be reminded several times to place the vehicle in park mode after officers had to wake him up.'
Miletich told officers he was drinking alcohol while watching DekHockey at Crow Creek Park, police say, adding that Miletich said he was in North Dakota, then said he drove back from North Dakota two days ago. He admitted to drinking wine, affidavits show.
Miletich had 'bloodshot, watery eyes, slurred speech, unsteady balance, and an odor of ingested alcohol,' police say in affidavits, which show he refused all field sobriety testing prior to refusing a preliminary breath test.
Officers saw tire tracks in the grass along the sidewalk on the west side of Devils Glen Road consistent with the caller's observations. Affidavits say 'A rut was found in an area covered with gravel along the sidewalk in line with the tire tracks and gravel was scattered on the concrete nearby.'
In affidavits, police say there was gravel dust covering the rear passenger side tire of (Miletich's) truck that was consistent with the gravel/dust in the rut. Officers also saw fresh damage to vegetation growing on a retaining wall on the north side of the Shell parking lot where it appeared something had struck the wall. According to affidavits, there was damage and vegetation on the front of the RAM 1500 that Miletich had been driving consistent with the vegetation on the retaining wall.
'The defendant's driving behavior is captured on traffic cameras at Devils Glen Road/State Street, and consistent with the complaint,' police say in affidavits.
The charge of a third OWI is a Class D felony, which is punishable by up to five years in prison and a fine.

Josh Green and 'stealing money from Lahaina fire victims ; being responsible for the COVID-19 outbreak in Hawaii ; seeking to 'take' people's guns ; and, 'doing climate change to take our money, '' according to state court records. Penn was not arrested when he appeared in court Tuesday and refused to sign the amended protective order approved by the judge. He is not listed in the Hawaii Police Department's booking log, according to a police spokesperson. Hawaii Prosecuting Attorney Kelden B.A. Waltjen did not respond to Honolulu Star-Advertiser questions about Penn's outstanding warrants. Penn did not reply to a Star-Advertiser request to comment. Shin signed the amended, eight-page restraining order Tuesday. Penn 'refused to sign ' according to a notation written on his signature line on the order. Penn, listed as 5 feet, 9 inches tall and 170 pounds in police booking records, was arrested in Hilo on May 25 and again on May 26 and charged with misdemeanor abuse of a household member. Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Herbert H. Mukai filed a motion to revoke Penn's bail 'for his willful violation of the terms and conditions of his release on bail ' after he failed to appear in court. Penn traumatic brain injuries, drug abuse, and Capgras delusional syndrome, where a person believes a friend, spouse, parent or family member has been replaced by an identical impostor, according to state court records. Penn believes Shin is not his mother and is working with a 'sabotage squad ' trying to take all his money. Driver charged in fatal bicycle crash at 131 and Pearl in GR
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A Wyoming man is charged with a misdemeanor in a crash that killed a bicyclist near downtown Grand Rapids early this year. Steve Dowhan, 53, was hit and killed instantly the evening of January 11, 2025, as he rode his bicycle west on Pearl Street near the Ford Museum. A stagehand for venues in downtown Grand Rapids, Dowhan had just finished a job at DeVos Place. On May 29, Kent County prosecutors charged the driver of the vehicle that struck Dowhan, Kaleb Stressman-Pilot, with moving violation causing death. Police: Bicyclist hit by car, killed in Grand Rapids 'The alcohol was not over the legal limit, it was under it,' said Kent County prosecutor Chris Becker. 'So, we didn't have any drunk driving charges we could file. We didn't have any reckless driving charge we could file…. After we took a look at everything, the moving violation causing death was the only charge we had.' Becker noted fatal accidents usually take a few months to investigate as police await the results of toxicology testing and conduct accident reconstructions to determine charges. According to the probable cause affidavit, Stressman-Pilot had a 'solid green traffic signal.' But an accident reconstructionist said Stressman-Pilot had been speeding when the crash happened, driving 48 to 61 miles per hour in a 30-mph zone. Bicyclist killed in downtown GR was stagehand, driver had prior arrest Officers also determined that Stressman-Pilot should not have been driving that night; he had a restricted license and a conviction for operating while intoxicated from an August 2023 traffic stop. But in the January fatal crash, toxicology results measured Stressman-Pilot's blood alcohol content as .05, under the legal driving limit of .08. Still, the affidavit noted evidence of impairment. 'Officers advised they could smell an odor of intoxicants coming from Stressman-Pilot and displayed (sic) other clues that indicated impairment,' wrote an officer in the court record. 'Stressman-Pilot was eventually arrested for OWI and a chemical blood test was conducted. The results of the chemical blood test show Stressman-Pilot had a BAC of 0.057.' The officer went on to document Stressman-Pilot's comments the night of the crash. 'Officers on scene questioned Stressman-Pilot who advised them he was going 'Wherever I want to go,'' wrote the author of the affidavit. '(Stressman-Pilot) also added that he was headed to the 'strip club.' Officers spoke to the (female) passenger in the vehicle, who stated they were 'cruising downtown' and 'looking for something to do.'' If convicted of the high misdemeanor, Stressman-Pilot could get up to one year in jail and a mandatory one-year license suspension. Steve Dowhan's friends and fellow union members are still trying to determine a permanent location for a ghost bike that was dedicated in his honor. It can't be displayed at the crash site because Grand Rapids does not allow tributes in public rights-of-way. For now, it's in the front window of a Bridge Street building that houses the union to which Dowhan belonged, the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees Local 26. The union said it will continue to fight for more parking for downtown workers. 'That's what we're seeking as a way to honor (Steve's) legacy,' said Tom Burke, president of IATSE Local 26. 'That's why Steve was on his bicycle in the middle of winter.' Burke said the lack of affordable parking forces downtown workers to park on the outskirts and ride their bicycles to their jobs. Burke described Dowhan as a lover of music and culture and a stickler for safety on the job. 'He was also quite persnickety,' Burke said with a chuckle, 'and he could be difficult in a debate or an argument. But that was also a strength when it came to demanding safety for workers, which was his thing. If he saw an unsafe situation, he would help us stop the work until we made it safe.' 42-year-old Wisconsin man arrested for 4th OWI after swerving in between multiple lanes
MIDDLETON, Wis. (WFRV) – A 42-year-old Wisconsin man was arrested for operating while intoxicated (OWI) on Tuesday morning after an officer saw him allegedly swerving between lanes. The Middleton Police Department reported that an officer was in the 6400 block of University Avenue around 2:50 a.m. on Tuesday, when the officer found a vehicle that was not staying in its lane. Multiple hurt in Sheboygan County crash involving dump truck, one severely injured During a traffic stop on the driver, identified as 42-year-old Darrell Ternes of Cross Plains, the officer noticed the scent of intoxicants from Ternes, who admitted to drinking before driving. A records check revealed that Ternes had three OWI convictions and that he had a revoked license.
