Indian aviation market outlook bullish; in talks with IndiGo for possible membership: AAPA
The outlook for the
Indian aviation market
is very bullish but there are supply chain issues being faced by airlines globally, the Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (
AAPA
) said on Friday.
At a briefing in the national capital, AAPA Director General Subhas Menon said it is in talks with IndiGo to look at the airline becoming a member of the association.
Currently, the grouping has 18 airlines as members, including Air India.

Punjab Kings signed Priyansh Arya for Rs 3.80 crore in the mega auction last year, and in his maiden IPL season, the 24-year-old left-handed batter from Delhi impressed everyone with his batting performances. He finished the IPL 2025 season with 475 runs in 17 matches. His tally of 475 runs helps him break the record of most runs in an IPL season by an uncapped Indian batter. Before Arya, the record was in the name of Devdutt Padikkal. Priyansh's performance in IPL 2025 Arya made his IPL debut for PBKS against GT in Ahmedabad on March 25 and scored 47 runs from 23 balls. In PBKS' second league match against LSG in Lucknow, he got out for 8 runs from nine balls and was clean bowled for a golden duck by Jofra Archer in the PBKS-RR match on April 5 in Mullanpur. He, however, quickly bounced back from that setback and scored a 38-ball century against CSK on April 8. In PBKS' fifth league match, Arya scored 36 off 13 balls against SRH and followed it up with scores of 22 from 12 against KKR, 16 against RCB in Mullanpur and 22 in Bengaluru. In PBKS' last six league matches, the left-handed batter scored 69 against KKR, 23 vs CSK, 1 against LSG, 9 against RR, 6 against DC and 62 against the Mumbai Indians in Jaipur. Multi-party delegation meets Jaishankar after 4-nation tour on Operation Sindoor
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Tuesday met members of a multi-party delegation and received feedback from them on how they exposed Pakistan in various countries over its support to terrorism. The delegation led by BJP leader Baijayant Panda met Jaishankar at his office here after the key diplomatic tour and presented their report. The delegation returned home Tuesday morning after visiting Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain and Algeria. In these countries, the delegation members met foreign dignitaries and Indian diaspora during a series of meetings and exposed Pakistan's support to terrorism in the wake of Pahalgam terror attack and subsequent Operation Sindoor. "It was a very good meeting, and we gave External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar our feedback. All members of the delegation provided their inputs and shared their views with him," said delegation member Harsh V Shringla, a former foreign secretary. Asked what the minister told them, he said, "He (Jaishankar) told us that our objectives were fulfilled and congratulated the delegation and its leader". Panda told reporters that their visit abroad was successful where they could explain India's "new normal" against Pakistan over terrorism. He said the delegation members were united and gave a very strong message to the countries they travelled. "A successful four-nation tour — Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Algeria. All four countries have taken clear steps against terrorism and understand India's principled stand...," he said in a post on X. Panda said the countries they visited understand India and its history has been such that "we don't need to give any justification". "We are a country of non-violence and have provided shelter to people from several countries. We had wanted to give the message of India and the new normal that we will retaliate terrorist violence. We ave also imposed economic sanctions and our goal is that Pakistan should stop its policy of supporting terrorism," he told reporters. Panda also said that the countries they visited are supporting India, not just in economic growth but also against terrorism. Other delegation members who met the external affairs minister included former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, Phangnon Konyak, Rekha Sharma and Satnam Singh Sandhu. Other members of the eight-member delegation included Nishikant Dubey and Asaduddin Owaisi.

Around that time, the film Bobby was in production, and she contacted Raj Kapoor to inform him that the singers' association had instructed singers to collect royalties directly from producers. Raj's response was sharp: "I have come here to do business, not distribute royalty." Lata, unfazed, replied, "You have come here for business, and I have come to the zoo," recalling the exchange with a mix of humor and frustration. Tensions reached a boiling point, prompting Raj Kapoor to ask Laxmikant Pyarelal to mediate the ongoing cold war between him and Lata. Though she initially resisted his efforts, Lata eventually received a call from Raj Kapoor, who playfully warned her, 'If you refuse to sing for my film, I will put up a tent right outside your house.' The two eventually reconciled, with Lata going on to sing for Bobby and all the other films Raj Kapoor made throughout his career.
