In response to receiving the gift, the US President said during the clip, "Oh, I like that. Playing for peace," and added while holding the jersey up, "That's great."
Cristiano Ronaldo has always advocated for peace on his socials, touching on human rights subjects such as the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since Oct. 7, 2023, and many more. Users on social media are speculating that his gift to the US President might be linked to the ongoing rising tensions between Israel and Iran.
Trump is attending the G7 Summit in Canada to discuss important issues with fellow leaders and politicians, including Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, and more.
