'Fantastic Four' Star Vanessa Kirby Says Pedro Pascal Relationship Has ‘Been so Easy'

Yahooa day ago

The on-screen relationship between Sue Storm and Reed Richards in the Fantastic Four movies is integral to the series. Thankfully, Vanessa Kirby and Pedro Pascal were very much aware of that and have gone to great lengths to ensure it hits on all cylinders.
Ahead of the release of Fantastic Four: First Steps, Kirby opened up about how much time and effort the duo put into their relationship. They built their chemistry both on and off the screen, and did so for months before filming the movie.
As Collider revealed, Kirby gave specific details during a roundtable about how much went into building her bond with Pascal for Fantastic Four: First Steps.
'It's been so easy,' Kirby said of working with Pascal. 'We met months before, we wanted to do this together. We spent time, we did some workshops together. We did everything to bond prior to [filming], because when you read the comics, you're just like 'These two, man, they have lasted the course for some really hard stuff.''
Kirby called it an "iconic relationship" and detailed the importance of making it as "real" as possible.
'And you know, I always find in onscreen relationships, to believe it, you have to answer the question 'Why?' You have to know why, not just, 'Oh, those two actors are together, or those two characters belong together,' and we're told that. I get the pull, and even though they go through hard times, they keep coming back together. In the comics, to me, it always appeared like one of those really iconic relationships, but believable because it wasn't a fantasy. It was just real.'
Kirby explained that she wanted to create that "deep [bond] as friends and creative partners," as Collider detailed.
It's an interesting evaluation of the work both Kirby and Pascal have put in together to make the iconic superheroes' on-screen bond truly stand out.
Fantastic Four: First Steps will hit theaters on July 25, 2025.

Why Clay Aiken Says He'll Need to Be 'Sedated' Amid 16-Year-Old Son's Career Plans

Clay Aiken's 16-year-old son, Parker, is getting closer and closer to realizing his dream of becoming a pilot, and that has the American Idol finalist feeling, quite literally, queasy. Speaking to People ahead of the re-release of his debut single, "Measure of a Man," Aiken explains he's not all that ecstatic about Parker, as part of his pilot training, getting on a plane and flying solo across the state. Aiken, who shares Parker with his longtime friend, Jaymes Foster (the sister of famed producer and composer David Foster), says it was one thing to see his 16-year-old son hop on a plane solo taking laps around the airport. 'He just went and did his first solo flight two weeks ago, so a big milestone there,' he tells People. 'Now we're planning on the next one, which I'll need even more Xanax for.' And the next one involves Parker flying solo across the state, which is proving to be too much for Aiken to handle. 'I'm not going to be able to see the plane,' Aiken says. 'You're gonna have to sedate me. Just call an anesthesiologist because I don't have the nerves for that.' Parker is apparently a very driven young man. Aiken, a 2003 runner-up to Ruben Studdard on season 2 of American Idol, shares that his son has always known he wanted to be a pilot. 'He's known what he wants to do for, gosh, his whole life,' Aiken says. 'It was a little weird to me because I didn't know what I wanted to do — I still don't.' Good luck, Parker! George Clooney's Wife Is Now 'Happiest Person' After Hair Change

All eyes were on George Clooney earlier this when he dyed his hair black for the Broadway play "Good Night, and Good Luck." Clooney joked about his dark hair during an appearance on "Late Night with Seth Meyers" earlier this month. The Academy Award winner said, "It looks like [I'm] going through some horrible midlife crisis." It turns out Clooney's wife, Amal, wasn't a huge fan of his dark hair either. Although she found it to be "funny," she was more than ready for her husband to go back to his natural look. During the 78th Annual Tony Awards this past Sunday, the "Ocean's Eleven" actor showed off his grey hair. Unsurprisingly, his wife was more than happy to say goodbye to the black hair dye. "Oh man, my wife [Amal] was the happiest person when I came home after the play today and I'd cut all the hair off," Clooney told People. "Because, you know, I looked like a drug dealer with that bad black dye job." Clooney wasn't fond of his look for broadway, but he did receive a ton of recognition for playing the role of broadcast journalist Edward R. Murrow. "Good Night, and Good Luck" aired on CNN this past Saturday. People noted it was the first time a live Broadway performance was simultaneously televised. Clooney thought it was a great idea to expand the show's audience. "I thought it wouldn't be bad for other people to be able to see this and see it at home for free," Clooney said. We'll see what's next for the 64-year-old actor. George Clooney's Wife Is Now 'Happiest Person' After Hair Change first appeared on Men's Journal on Jun 10, 2025
