Brooklyn Meyer scored 19 points and grabbed eight rebounds as No. 10 South Dakota State rallied to beat No. 7 Oklahoma State 74-68 in Storrs, Conn.
Madison Mathiowetz added 17 points for South Dakota State (30-3), which will face No. 2 seed Connecticut in the second round. Paige Meyer scored 16 points, grabbed eight rebounds and dished six assists.
Stailee Heard scored 20 points and pulled down 10 rebounds for Oklahoma State (25-7). Anna Gret Asi scored 16 points, and Tenin Magassa had 10 points and eight blocked shots.
South Dakota State trailed by seven at halftime but outscored Oklahoma State 50-37 in the second half.
No. 1 USC 71, No. 16 UNC Greensboro 25
JuJu Watkins scored 22 points on 8-for-17 shooting, and the Trojans smothered the Spartans for a 46-point victory in Los Angeles.
Kiki Iriafen recorded a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds for USC (29-3). Eleven Trojans players scored, including Kayleigh Heckel with eight points off the bench.
Nya Smith scored seven points for UNC Greensboro (25-7). The Spartans shot 13 percent (7 of 54) overall and 22.2 percent (4 of 18) from beyond the arc.
USC led 28-11 at halftime and outscored the Eagles 25-5 in the third quarter.
No. 3 Oklahoma 81, No. 14 Florida Gulf Coast 58
Raegan Beers scored 25 points and pulled down 18 rebounds to lift the Sooners to a lopsided win over the Eagles in Norman, Okla.
Beers made 10 of 20 shots from the field to lead Oklahoma (26-7). Skylar Vann added 24 points and nine rebounds for the Sooners, who will face No. 6 seed Iowa in the second round.
Dolly Cairns scored 15 points on 5-for-13 shooting for Florida Gulf Coast (30-4). Emani Jefferson finished with 12 points and eight rebounds.
Oklahoma posted a 72-35 advantage on the boards.
No. 2 Connecticut 103, No. 15 Arkansas State 34
Azzi Fudd scored 27 points on 10-for-13 shooting, and No. 2 seed Connecticut sprinted to a dominating win over No. 15 seed Arkansas State in the first round of the Women's NCAA Tournament on Saturday afternoon in Storrs, Conn.
Sarah Strong and Ashlynn Shade added 20 points apiece for Connecticut (32-3). Paige Bueckers finished with 11 points on 5-for-9 shooting.
Crislyn Rose had seven points to lead Arkansas State (21-11). Wynter Rogers scored six.
Connecticut burst to a 34-5 lead at the end of the first quarter. By halftime, the Huskies increased their advantage to 66-16.
The Huskies shot 58.8 percent (40 of 68) overall and 46.4 percent (13 of 28) from beyond the arc. Arkansas State shot 17.1 percent (12 of 70) from the field and 15 percent (6 of 40) from 3-point range.
No. 6 Iowa 92, No. 11 Murray State 57
Ava Heiden scored 15 points off the bench to lead the Hawkeyes to a first-round victory over the Racers in Norman, Okla.
Lucy Olsen notched a double-double with 12 points and 12 assists for Iowa (23-10). Sydney Affolter had 11 points and eight rebounds, and Hannah Stuelke finished with 11 points to go along with six boards.
Halli Poock scored 15 points for Murray State (25-8). Ava Learn had a team-high 10 rebounds to go along with eight points.
Iowa finished with 28 assists on 41 baskets. Murray State had seven assists on 19 baskets.
