Hailee Steinfeld Reflects on Why She Took a 'Bit of a Break From Music'

Hailee Steinfeld is opening up about why she took a break from making music.
The actress-singer, known for her hit songs 'Starving,' 'Love Myself,' and 'Most Girls,' recently told
Collider
that while she's enjoyed focusing on her acting career in recent years, she is also missing the music scene.
'I had taken a bit of a break from music, which was a very difficult decision to make, but I wanted to focus on my acting and was happy to be doing that,' she said. 'It goes without saying, but…music is a love of mine and a huge passion and something that has played a very strong role in my life in more ways than one, and having had the opportunity to make music through the years of my own is something I will never take for granted.'
Steinfeld, who has previously starred in "Pitch Perfect 3" and "True Grit", the latter of which scored her a best supporting actress Oscar nomination, released her last single, 'SunKissing,' in 2023. However, she shared that she is excited to return to music, beginning with her new song 'Dangerous' on the soundtrack for her new movie "Sinners".
'I felt so, so lucky to be a part of a movie like Sinners, where music is such a huge part of it. This is the dream — for me to be acting in a film that is so driven and moved by music,' she added. 'I was able to open the door again to work on something that I'm very, very, very excited about and can't wait to share more with people. It's been a long time, and I didn't realize how much I missed it.'
"Sinners", directed by Ryan Coogler and also starring Michael B. Jordan, follows twin brothers who return to their hometown to start again after trying to leave their troubled lives behind, only to discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back. The movie opens in theaters Friday.

Mohamed Mounir Drops "Malamehna", First Song from New Album
Yara Sameh 'The King' Mohamed Mounir offered up his new song "Malamehna" as the first taste of his long-awaited album. The record consists of 10 songs and is produced by Rotana. It features Mounir cooperating with a large number of poets and composers, including Hala El Zayat, Menna El Kiey, Tamer Hussein, Aziz El-Shafei, Ehab Abd Elwahed, and the late Mohamed Rahim. Mounir dropped his last album, ' Bab El-Gamal ' ("The Door to Beauty") in August 2021. Mounir, born on October 10, 1954, is one of the Middle East's best singers. He released his 1977 debut solo album, 'Alemony Eneeki' on the Sonar record label, after completing his military service. The superstar has released over 22 albums and six soundtrack albums. Mounir, whose musical career spanned over three decades, presented various genres in his music, such as classical Egyptian Music, Nubian music, blues, jazz, and reggae. "Faat El Maad" Sets Premiere Date
Yara Sameh The premiere date for Egyptian stars Asma Abulyazeid and Ahmed Magdy's upcoming TV series "Faat El Maad" has been unveiled. The drama consists of 30 episodes and marks the second collaboration between the pair after the 2019 TV series "El Anesa Farah". "Faat El Maad" also stars Mahmoud El-Bezzawy, Salwa Mohamed Ali,Mohamed Ali Rizk, Ahmed Safwat, Hager Afifi, Mohamed Abu Dawood, Walaa El Sherif, and more. Saad Hendawy directed the series from a script by Atef Nashed, Islam Adham, and Nasser Abdel Hamid. Square Media is the studio behind the drama. "Faat El Maad" is set to debut on the "DMC" satellite TV channel at 08:00 PM on Saturday, June 14. It will also be available on the "Watch It" streaming platform. Abulyazeid, born on July 10, 1990, has liked acting since young, but could not act in her school because there was no school theater, something that became available in college where she studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts. She participated in a large number of theatrical performances that were displayed at the Hanager Theater and competed for the Sheikh Sultan Al Qasimi Award for Best Theater Show in 2016. In 2017, Abulyazeid drew attention through her performance as Toka in the TV series "Hadha Almasa" (This Evening). Her TV credits also include "Al Nas" (2024), "Touba" (2022), "Al Ekhteyar 2: Regal El Zel" (2021), Hogan" (2019), "Zodiac" (2019), "Layali Eugenie" (2018), and "'Ana shahira ... 'ana alkhayin" (2017). Abulyazeid is also known for her roles in films such as "El Daawa Ammah" (2022), "Laylat Amar 14"(2022), "Mousa" (2021), "30 March" (2021), "El Kowayeseen" (2018), and "Hadha almasa'" (2017). Luciano Pavarotti Biopic Planned
Yara Sameh Prominent Italian producer Pietro Valsecchi ('Quo Vado') is developing a high-end Luciano Pavarotti biopic. Valsecchi has secured a consulting agreement with Nicoletta Mantovani, the second wife of the late great tenor who broadened the audience for opera and became a global pop culture icon. A screenplay for the project is being penned by ace Italian screenwriter Leonardo Fasoli, a head writer on the series 'Gomorrah' which is Italy's top TV export. Mantovani, who established the Luciano Pavarotti Foundation after the maestro's death at 71, in 2007, is providing the project with documents, rare images, private letters, mementos, and more from the archives of the foundation and museum in the Northern Italian city of Modena that was Pavarotti's home. As part of the agreement, Mantovani 'will be actively involved in every aspect of the project, contributing first-hand to the narrative and artistic construction of the film,' according to a statement. Born in 1935 in Modena into a working-class family – his father was a baker, while his mother worked in a cigar factory – Luciano Pavarotti developed a passion for opera as a child thanks to his father, an amateur tenor. Thanks to his vibrant signature high C's and a knack for showmanship he became the most beloved and celebrated tenor since Enrico Caruso and one of the few opera singers to attain crossover fame. 'Luciano had a big dream, which was to bring opera back to the people, because when he was a kid opera was sung in the streets and was just like pop music today,' Mantovani told Variety. Pavarotti pursued this dream through the Three Tenors projects, a collective enterprise that saw him share the stage with Plácido Domingo and José Carreras and his 'Pavarotti and Friends' charity concerts, performing with rock stars such as Elton John, Sting, and Bono. Valsecchi, who shepherded Italy's biggest all-time box office hit, the 2016 comedy 'Quo Vado,' said he is seeking an Italian actor to play the lead and will soon be announcing a director for the project that will differentiate itself from Ron Howard-directed 2019 doc 'Pavarotti' by having a 'more Italian soul' while being 'clearly universal.' The plan is to shoot the Italian and English language Pavarotti biopic in several countries.
