The man suspected of an attack on pro-Israeli protesters in Colorado, who is facing federal hate crime charges, had planned the attack for a year, according to the the official.
Mohammed Sabry Soliman, an Egyptian national staying in the US even after his visa expired, has allegedly thrown the
fire bombs and sprayed burning gasoline at a group of people who had gathered on Sunday in support of Israeli hostages held by Hamas, injuring 12 people.
J Bishop Grewell, acting US Attorney for the District of Colorado, told reporters the 45-year-old suspect had been planning the attack for a year.
Soliman attacked a group of elderly protesters with "Molotov cocktails at a group of men and women, some of them in their late 80s, burning them as they peacefully walked on a Sunday to draw attention to Israeli hostages held in Gaza."
"When he was interviewed about the attack, he said he wanted them all to die.
He had no regrets, and he would go back and do it again."
During questioning, Soliman revealed his unsuccessful attempt to purchase a firearm, which was prevented due to his non-US citizenship status.'
Responding officers discovered 16 unused Molotov cocktails at the scene, along with a backpack weed sprayer containing petrol, which authorities believe was intended as an improvised flamethrower.
The accused faces potential life imprisonment under federal hate crime charges, alongside state attempted murder charges that could result in centuries of incarceration.

US President Trump criticised Joe Biden regarding the incident. "Yesterday's horrific attack in Boulder, Colorado, WILL NOT BE TOLERATED in the United States of America," Trump posted on Truth Social, describing it as a "terrible tragedy."
He attributed the incident to "Biden's ridiculous Open Border Policy" for Soliman's entry. "This is yet another example of why we must keep our Borders SECURE, and deport Illegal, Anti-American Radicals from our Homeland," he stated.
Marco Rubio, his Secretary of State, issued a stern warning.
"All terrorists, their family members, and terrorist sympathizers here on a visa should know that under the Trump Administration we will find you, revoke your visa, and deport you," he posted on social media.

he incident took place on Sunday afternoon during a demonstration supporting hostages captured during Hamas's October 7, 2023 attack on Israel.
Footage shows a bare-chested individual clutching bottles, walking back and forth near burning grass. The individual was heard shouting "End Zionists!" and "They are killers!" at several people wearing red T-shirts who were attending to someone on the ground.
Additional footage captured dark smoke rising into the air.
Recently, the attacks against Israel have increased in the US. Few weeks back, a fatal shooting took place outside a Jewish museum in Washington, where a 31-year-old arrested suspect, who shouted "Free Palestine," killed two Israeli embassy staffers.

HC orders closure of Tasmac shop causing nuisance to public
Madurai: It is contradictory for a welfare govt to establish more hospitals on the one hand and simultaneously establish Tasmac shops on the other hand, observed Madras high court while directing the authorities to close a Tasmac shop situated in Dindigul district. The court was hearing a public interest litigation filed by K Kannan. The petitioner stated that a Tasmac shop on Trichy Road in Dindigul, is causing nuisance to the public, especially children using the road to go to schools. Hence, the petitioner moved court seeking to immediately close the shop. In the counter, the Dindigul district Tasmac manager submitted that the petitioner's claim, is incorrect. The shop is located within the corporation limits, where the prohibited distance is 50m as per Rule 8 of Tamil Nadu Liquor Retail Vending (in Shops and Bars) Rules, 2003. However, since the shop is situated in a commercial area, the proviso to Rule 8 of the Rules states that the distance restriction shall not apply. A division bench of justice S M Subramaniam and justice A D Maria Clete observed that mere adherence to the distance criterion is insufficient when certain mitigating circumstances are raised by an aggrieved citizen. It is contradictory for a welfare govt to establish more hospitals on the one hand and simultaneously establish Tasmac shops on the other. This is not in consonance with Constitutional ethos. When the right to health is a fundamental right, the state must ensure that the prohibition is slowly implemented in a phased manner to reduce harm to public health," the judges observed. The judges observed that in the present case, the road is used by the children to reach their school and it serves as a direct pathway. Consequently, the Tasmac shop would undoubtedly cause public nuisance to the road users and school children. "The closure of one Tasmac shop would not cause any prejudice but would rather benefit the public at large," the judges observed and directed the authorities to close the shop within two weeks.

Former Sena corporator booked for drunk driving and assaulting doctor in Thane
Thane: The Rabodi police have booked a former Shiv Sena corporator for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol, dangerously ramming his car into another vehicle, and assaulting a doctor in a road rage incident near Castle Mill area on Tuesday evening. According to the complaint lodged by a 31-year-old doctor residing in Thane and working at a Bhiwandi civil hospital as an orthopaedic surgeon, the incident occurred around 6:50 pm. The doctor and his sister were returning home in their car after picking up a food parcel from Vikas Complex. As they approached the Meena Tai Thackeray Chowk, another car driven by Mahesh Wagh allegedly recklessly in the wrong lane collided with the doctor's vehicle. The police said that the doctor stated he slowed down his car to avoid the impact, but Wagh's car still struck the front-right side of his car. Even as he attempted to step out, the accused allegedly scraped the vehicle further while trying to drive off. When the doctor signalled the driver to stop, the man reportedly accelerated and hit the doctor's foot.
