Power restored for thousands after storms, but some still dealing with downed trees
Power is back on for thousands of customers who were left in the dark after Saturday night's storms.
But one woman in Cobb County says while she has electricity, she is not able to go to bed with a sense of security.
Denise Dubose lives at Concord Crossing Apartments on Woodsong Way in Smyrna.
She showed Channel 2 Action News a huge tree that was knocked down during the storm and landed right in front of her patio. Dubose says that worries her in the event of an emergency.
'If there was a fire and the only way out was my patio, I can't get out if my door was blocked,' said Dubose.

Dubose said she called the emergency maintenance line to have it removed, but workers did not show up on Sunday.
Meanwhile, about a mile away in Marietta, neighbors are breathing a sigh of relief.
Power along Longleaf Drive was out for more than 24 hours. One neighbor told Channel 2's Cory James it was fully restored around 9 p.m.
We reached out to management at Concord Crossing Apartments and did not hear back on Sunday.

More storms on Monday
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) – Strong and severe storms has passed through the area this afternoon. It left some downed trees, and power lines across the area. The overnight time frame will give us a another warm and humid night. Temperatures will fall into the low to mid 70s. A little patchy fog could be likely in a few locations early Monday morning. As we head into Monday, we will start the day on a warm and muggy note. We will see temperatures quickly rise into the 80s through the late morning and early afternoon hours. As we get into the mid to late afternoon range, scattered thunderstorms will be possible. A few storms once again become severe. Damaging winds, lightning, heavy rain, and some hail will be possible. As we head into the rest of the week we will see hot and humid days. Daily storm chances through the week. Tuesday sticks out as the day with largest chance of seeing widespread coverage of storms. Temperatures will be in the mid to upper 80s along the coast. Low 90s inland. Heat index values will be in the mid to upper 90s. Overnight lows this week will remain in the 70s. Portland Public Schools to release 3 hours early Monday due to high heat
PORTLAND, Ore. () — Portland Public Schools announced they will be releasing all students three hours early on Monday, June 9, due to high heat. 'Check on friends, family' in record-heat spells With temperatures once again expected to hit above 90 degrees on Monday, PPS officials said in a that 'the sustained high temperatures and limited overnight cooling present significant health and safety concerns, especially in our schools without air conditioning.' The early release times are listed below: Elementary schools – 11:30 a.m. K-8 schools – 12:30 p.m. Middle schools – 1 p.m. High schools – 12:30 p.m. 'This decision prioritizes the wellbeing of students and staff, ensuring that everyone can return home safely before the hottest part of the day,' PPS officials said. After-school activities sponsored by the district will also be canceled, including childcare services. Athletic programs will follow and make decisions about practices and activities.
