The Edmonton Oilers' fans and head coach, Kris Knoblauch, expected a smooth win in Game 5 of the 2025 Stanley Cup Finals against the Florida Panthers, but the result shocked everyone.

Edmonton Oilers' head coach, Kris Knoblauch, breaks his silence on Games 6 and 7 but gets heavily trolled by fans
While speaking to the media recently, Kris Knoblauch spoke about Game 5 and said, 'You know, when the pressure is not on them that they have to make every single save to keep this close or keep us ahead, it'd be nice to get some goal support…Obviously, last night was a case where we were having difficulty generating offense.'
The Edmonton Oilers' head coach added, "Winning our last two games is something that we're confident we can do'.
But fans are furious at the team. A fan took to X and wrote, 'What a horrible performance! Down right cheating if you ask me. Couple players take it easy and get paid', while another fan wrote, 'His body language says it all. He knows theyre toast. Time for ' The McDavid meltdown' season 2'.
A third fan commented, 'Of course he says that.

A fifth fan noted, 'My brother in Christ let's do it one game at a time 😭😭😭 let's change our fate with game 6 then we talk about game 7'.
Another fan posted, 'Stop messing with lineup.Florida plays same gave every night win or lose and you seem to have no clue what your identity is constantly. Messing with players and lines. Pick a strategy and stick with it'.
While the Edmonton Oilers have not addressed the criticism that the team has received after the devastating loss in Game 5, fans are stressed about Game 6 which is all set to begin in a few hours.

FIFA Club World Cup 2025: Neto, Fernandez shine as Chelsea beat LAFC 2-0 in tournament opener

Chelsea defeated Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) 2-0 on Monday, June 16, 2025, in their opening group game of the FIFA Club World Cup at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. The victory for the London club was powered by goals from Pedro Neto and Enzo Fernandez. Neto opened the scoring for Chelsea, netting the first goal before halftime. The second goal came from Fernandez late in the second half, which sealed the match for the team. LAFC qualified for the tournament via a one-off play-in game in May 2025. The California club seemed to pose some threat to Chelsea when it asked several questions of the team's defence late in the game, but to no avail, as the team failed to score a single goal. The London club held firm in defence, however, and were simply too tough in attack, with Fernandez adding a second goal for the team to take the sting out of the match in the 80th minute. The Argentine attacking midfielder was picked out in the penalty area by Blues' fresh signing, Liam Delap. He whipped in an excellent ball from the right side. Fernandez took a first touch and finished from close range past former Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris. Pedro Neto opened the scoring for Chelsea in the 33rd minute with a cutback after being put through into the box on the right-hand side by Nicholas Jackson. Neto stopped on a dime and sent LAFC defender Ryan Hollingshead sliding past him. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Elegant New Scooters For Seniors In 2024: The Prices May Surprise You Mobility Scooter | Search Ads Learn More Undo The Portuguese attacker then took another touch back towards the goal and drilled it into the back of the net at the near post, past Lloris with his left foot. During the match, Chelsea had 17 shots for the match, six of which were on target, and five came from inside the penalty area. Cole Palmer, although he looked threatening, failed to trouble the scorers as he wasted his crucial chance to get on the score sheet by ballooning a shot over the top of the crossbar in the second half. Another French World Cup winner came onto the pitch for LAFC immediately after halftime in Olivier Giroud. Live Events The English Premier League outfit held the possession of the ball for the majority of the proceedings. Chelsea's next outing is against Brazilian outfit Flamengo, who are set to play against African side Esperance de Tunis.

No free swimming as NDMC pools need urgent repair

New Delhi: Unlike previous years when New Delhi Municipal Council offered free coaching to students at its three major swimming pools during the summer, the facilities cannot be accessed this year. The three prominent pools, also managed by NDMC, are located at Mandir Marg, Sarojini Nagar and Laxmibai Nagar, and each facility attracts 100 to 150 young students during the summer. According to officials, there was a desperate need for detailed repair work at these sites before opening them for students. "These facilities have not been repaired for a long time. There are broken tiles and damages at various places such as side periphery, stairs, etc. The civil department needs to carry out detailed repair work. Until the work is completed, we have decided not to open the facilities for students this year," said an NDMC official. For years, NDMC ran the facilities for free lessons for the students staying in the areas under its jurisdiction during the summer. "However, a fee of Rs 500 per month is charged from students residing outside the jurisdiction of NDMC. No outsider and no member staff is permitted to utilise the services at these swimming pools," an official said earlier. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Play Chess on Your PC, Free Play Classic Chess Install Now Undo The council claimed to take all necessary measures to ensure the safety of students during swimming classes, which are conducted in morning and evening shifts. Unlike NDMC, Delhi Development Authority has made swimming pools accessible across various locations in the city to provide relief from the heat. The authority manages a network of 17 sports complexes featuring swimming pools for public use, and it has opened them after obtaining fresh permissions. They include swimming facilities at Saket Sports Complex, Yamuna Sports Complex, Netaji Subhash Sports Complex at Jasola, Dwarka Sports Complex Sector 11, Rohini Sports Complex, Major Dhyan Chand Sports Complex, and Hari Nagar Sports Complex. "These seasonal pools typically remain operational until the end of Sept," said an official. DDA also maintains all-weather swimming pools, such as at Siri Fort Sports Complex, which remain functional for 10 months annually—from Feb 1 to Nov 30. A maximum of 80 participants are allowed in one session at big DDA pools of Olympic size (25x50 metres) and 40 pools of small size (12.5x25 metres). The swimming coaching charges are Rs 1,250 per person per month in summer.

Skinner or Pickard? Oilers' Knoblauch still not naming starting goalie for Stanley Cup Final Game 6

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — It's anyone's guess who starts in goal for the Edmonton Oilers when they face elimination in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final against the Florida Panthers on Tuesday night. Coach Kris Knoblauch did not say Monday whether it would be Stuart Skinner or Calvin Pickard. 'It's who we feel can win us a game,' Knoblauch said after practice. "That's how it's gone in other games, and we'll make that decision.' Skinner was Edmonton's starting goaltender to begin the playoffs, lost the first two games and was replaced by Pickard, who went 6-0 before getting injured. Skinner also started the first four in the final, got pulled twice and for Pickard, who won Game 4 and lost Game 5. 'A strength of our team is that we can go with both guys,' winger Connor Brown said. "They're up for the challenge. I mean, they're both absolute pros. Both have given this their best every time they come in there, and they both work hard, so we're in it as a group.' Ryan Nugent-Hopkins did not practice Monday, though Knoblauch expects the Oilers' longest-tenured player to be in the lineup Tuesday night in Sunrise. That is a constant, even if Nugent-Hopkins is not 100% healthy, though there could be other changes coming. Either Jeff Skinner or Vasily Podkolzin may be ticketed for the press box as a healthy scratch up front, while John Klingberg is a candidate to return on defense. Florida will be making no such changes, barring something unforeseen, in the first chance to clinch back-to-back championships. The same 12 forwards and six defensemen who have been in place since A.J. Greer returned from injury in Game 3 figure to be in the lineup again. 'It's all health based,' coach Paul Maurice said. 'We're a pretty healthy team, fortunately, at this point, and we've got good players." That includes Matthew Tkachuk, who missed the remainder of the regular season after getting injured at the 4 Nations Face-Off in February. After some ups and downs and uncertainty, he's 'feeling the best' he has during this run. 'I thought there was maybe a 50% chance I wouldn't be playing as close to about a week or five days before the playoffs started,' Tkachuk said. 'Very lucky and fortunate that I've got great trainers and doctors, and they all somehow got me healthy enough to play.' The Panthers have five players already bound for the 2026 Olympics in Milan: Tkachuk for the U.S., Sam Reinhart for Canada, Aleksander Barkov for Finland, Nico Sturm for Germany and Uvis Balinskis for Latvia. The 12 teams participating unveiled their preliminary six-man rosters Monday. Sturm and Balinskis have not played in the final, but the Olympic announcements put them in the spotlight. 'Being an Olympian is something that not a lot of athletes can say about their careers," Sturm said. 'It's the best athletes in the world from every sport, and it's definitely something that I've marked on my calendar, something that I want to achieve in my career. It'd be a huge accomplish to be able to play there and, once your career's done, to say you participated in the Olympics, I think that's a huge accomplishment not to be understated.'
