Dolphins' top 2025 draft prospects: South Carolina S Nick Emmanwori
South Carolina safety Nick Emmanwori was already tabbed as a great athlete with outstanding size and attributes, but he still jumped off the screen at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine with measurables and times that were off the charts.
At 6'3, 220 pounds, Emmanuel ran a 4.38 40-yard dash with a 43-inch vertical. According to draft analytics expert, Kent Lee Platte, Emmanwori may be the most athletically gifted strong safety ever.
In 2024, Emmanwori made 88 total tackles, three for loss, with four interceptions and a pair of pass breakups. He took two interceptions to the house for scores.
More impressively, the former high school linebacker played 417 coverage snaps in 2024 and didn't allow a single touchdown while holding opposing quarterbacks to a 37.1 passer rating, per PFF. He earned All-American and First Team All-SEC honors in his final season with the Gamecocks.

Fit for Miami
The Dolphins are not going to place the franchise tag on Jevón Holland. Instead, the 2021 second-round pick will enter free agency, and it looks as though Miami will also let Jordan Poyer hit the market too. Even depth defensive back and special teamer Elijah Campbell could depart as a free agent, making safety of paramount importance for the Dolphins this offseason.
If the Dolphins don't address the position with a veteran in free agency or a trade acquisition, the No. 13 overall pick could be Miami's only chance to select Emmanwori. He was already a first-round prospect heading into the combine process, but his workouts may have leapfrogged him ahead of Georgia safety Malaki Starks as the top prospect at the position.
Bottom line
Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver could use Emmanwori as a centerpiece of his secondary. He spent a lot of time in the slot playing the nickel, and he has the skills to match up with tight ends in the NFL. Miami has had issues against top-tier tight ends, and a player like Emmanwori could immediately improve that aspect of the Dolphins' coverage.
Emmanwori is a fantastic tackler, and his physicality, size, speed and overall athleticism could make him an immediate star in Miami. The Dolphins could use the No. 13 pick to shore up their secondary by selecting Emmanwori before their attention to the trenches in Day 2.

One specific area Alabama's defense must address to be a contender in 2025, expert says
One specific area Alabama's defense must address to be a contender in 2025, expert says The start of the 2025 college football season is 78 days away, and 85 days remain until the Alabama Crimson Tide open the season against the Florida State Seminoles in Tallahassee. While SEC commissioner Greg Sankey and others are still trying to re-legislate Alabama's absence from last year's College Football Playoff, only 12 Saturdays remain until Alabama-FSU. Both teams are looking for bounce-back years in 2025. The Crimson Tide want to improve on a 9-3 regular season in Kalen DeBoer's first year, which included a blowout loss to Oklahoma in Week 13 that ultimately kept Alabama from reaching the first-ever 12-team playoff field. Florida State is in need of a hard reset. Mike Norvello's Seminoles followed up their 12-0 regular season and ACC championship from 2023 with a woeful 2-10 record last year that featured only one win vs. a Power Four school. One potential concern for Alabama heading into 2025? CBS Sports and 247Sports analyst Brad Crawford believes it's on defense -- more specifically, the need for Kane Wommack's unit to establish a pass rush. Per Crawford: "Make no mistake -- this should be a stout defense for the Crimson Tide, especially considering cornerbacks tandem Zabien Brown and Domani Jackson are being discussed as one of the best in the conference. But if there's one area of concern, it's the ability to produce havoc numbers on the interior and edge since Alabama's inexperienced beyond James Smith and nose tackle Tim Keenan III. The Crimson Tide need a difference-making campaign out of LT Overton, who has best-in-the-conference type of potential." Overton was recently named to the 2025 Lott IMPACT Trophy Watch List, along with linebacker Deontae Lawson. Lawson's 76 tackles were second on the team last year behind linebacker Jihaad Campbell, who departed for the NFL after a terrific junior season. Alabama's pass rush generated 25 sacks for 172 sacks yards. That ranked only 69th in FBS and was 14th out of the 16 SEC schools. Year 2 of the DeBoer era in Tuscaloosa will coincide with Alabama's first ever visit to Doak Campbell Stadium on Aug. 30. The Crimson Tide and Seminoles will kick off at 2:30 p.m. CT on ABC. Alabama is No. 9 in Crawford's post-spring top 25 rankings. ESPN and USA TODAY Sports also have the Crimson Tide at No. 9 in their respective post-spring rankings.

Ravens' John Harbaugh Breaks Silence on Aaron Rodgers Joining the Steelers
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. After months of speculation and rumors, Aaron Rodgers is finally going to be a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers. The future Hall of Famer joins a team that made the playoffs in 2024 and is predicted to repeat that same success this season. More news: Colts Receive Massive Anthony Richardson Injury Update Rodgers to the Steelers means that the rest of the AFC North will now have to prepare to face one of the best arms in the league. Considering divisional rivalries are strong, and the teams within divisions play each other twice in a season, Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh had some choice words for the news. Ravens' John Harbaugh on Steelers' Aaron Rodgers addition: "He's a Hall of Fame QB, so we'll have to go against a Hall of Fame QB with one of the premier teams in the league, who happens to be our archrival. So, we'll be preparing for that." — Jeremy Bergman (@JABergman) June 6, 2025 Harbaugh broke his silence on the Rodgers situation, stating: "He's a Hall of Fame QB, so we'll have to go against a Hall of Fame QB with one of the premier teams in the league, who happens to be our archrival. So, we'll be preparing for that." Head coach John Harbaugh of the Baltimore Ravens speaks to the media during the NFL Scouting Combine at the Indiana Convention Center on February 25, 2025 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Head coach John Harbaugh of the Baltimore Ravens speaks to the media during the NFL Scouting Combine at the Indiana Convention Center on February 25, 2025 in Indianapolis, news: Browns Trade Proposal Would Send Shedeur Sanders to Surprising Team Harbaugh is not one to mince words, and he knows the value that Rodgers brings to the Steelers. Considering the deep-seated rivalry between the teams, those face-offs are going to be energetic. Though the Steelers team looks a little different, Rodgers will have a high-powered offense that includes DK Metcalf, Robert Woods, Jaylen Warren, and more. The Steelers have also been working on a deal to bring in current Miami Dolphins tight end Jonnu Smith, though there has not been confirmation of that trade moving forward. Either way, Rodgers will bring a huge presence to the locker room when he joins the Steelers or minicamp. Harbaugh and the Ravens will now have to prepare to take on the Steelers with a Hall of Fame quarterback. The good news is that Baltimore has been one of the best teams in the league for multiple years. Behind two-time MVP Lamar Jackson, the Ravens have secured a playoff berth for three years straight. The issue is that Baltimore cannot get past the Buffalo Bills or Kansas City Chiefs, who are their current nemesis in the postseason. Now, the playoffs could get even more difficult for the Ravens, as they may run into a situation where they have to take on their divisional rivals with Rodgers at the helm. Though there is no guarantee that the Steelers will be better with Rodgers, there is still a good chance they will be a playoff-caliber team in 2025. How Missouri football trolled Georgia without winning a game against UGA in a decade
How Missouri football trolled Georgia without winning a game against UGA in a decade The Missouri Tigers and Georgia Bulldogs won't be playing each other during the 2025 college football season unless the two teams meet in the SEC championship or College Football Playoff. That did not stop Missouri from trolling Georgia in a recent social media post. In a series of pictures, Missouri tabbed "the photo we recently hesitate to post" versus "the photo we posted in 2013 with absolutely zero hesitation." The Tigers included one picture of Missouri's 41-26 defeat of Georgia. Missouri's 2013 win over Georgia helped the Tigers climb the SEC East standings and advance to the SEC championship where Missouri lost to Auburn. Missouri's upset of No. 7 Georgia and star quarterback Aaron Murray derailed Georgia's season. The Missouri game was Georgia's second loss of the year and essentially crushed UGA's national championship hopes. Of course, the next week Georgia lost at Vanderbilt, which cemented the Dawgs' disappointing season after losing in the 2012 SEC championship and coming five yards short of a national championship appearance the year before. Georgia fans can cheer up though. The Bulldogs have won 10 straight games against Missouri. In 2016, Georgia hired coach Kirby Smart and began to dominate the SEC East. The Bulldogs won national titles in 2021 and 2022 to erase a lot of the heartbreak for Georgia's fan base. Missouri's post trolling Georgia Note: the image is all the way to the right on the post. Missouri has not beaten Georgia since 2013. Georgia has dominated the series, but Missouri has made strides in recent seasons. Georgia is 11-1 since Missouri joined the SEC, but the teams no longer face each other annually as SEC East rivals in the expanded 16-team SEC.
