Edinburgh confirm Cherry and Price departures
Scotland internationals Dave Cherry and Ali Price are to move on from Edinburgh at the end of the season.The club say both players will "take up playing opportunities abroad" on the expiry of their contracts.Hooker Cherry, 34, started every match in this year's Six Nations, taking his tally of caps to 16.Price, 31, has made 66 international appearances and the scrum-half played in all three Tests on the British & Irish Lions' tour of South Africa in 2021.His last outing for Scotland came against Fiji in November 2024.Prior to his switch to Edinburgh in November 2023, Price spent nine years at Glasgow Warriors."Dave and Ali have both made significant contributions to Edinburgh Rugby and we thank them for their dedication and commitment," said head coach Sean Everitt."Dave has given a lot during his time at the club, but it is a position we are well stocked with good young Scottish talent and, therefore, we have decided not to continue his deal, and wish him the very best in his next steps."Dave's journey to becoming a centurion is a testament to his hard work and resilience, while Ali's experience and leadership have been invaluable to the team."

Sir Andy Murray has not ruled out a return to coaching despite his short-lived link-up with former world number one Novak Djokovic coming to an end after just four tournaments last month. Murray was speaking at Queen's Club in London, whose centre court was officially inaugurated as the Andy Murray Arena on Monday ahead of the venue's new WTA 500 event, the first time the west London site has hosted women's tennis in 52 years. Murray, who retired from playing after the 2024 Olympics, linked up with Djokovic in November and despite the pair terminating their relationship in May, the 38-year-old says he may accept a similar role in the future. Murray, a three-time grand slam winner and five-time winner of the men's title at Queen's, joked his tennis was now 'diabolical' before rallying with a 10-year-old doubles partner on the court. 'My tennis is diabolical, apologies for what you are about to witness,' he said before pairing up with Gloria, 10, for the ceremonial two-round rally against Laura Robson, who won an Olympic silver medal alongside Murray in 2012, and Jay, 7. 'I've obviously missed being out here,' he added. 'It's the first time, obviously, not being involved in a grass court season for a while, but I've got a new life now and I'm enjoying being away from the sport a little bit.' Murray added: 'This tournament has so many special moments for me. It's the place where I won my first match on the ATP Tour, it's my most successful event. 'Coming back here at the start of the British summer and I'm very proud of the results I have here. 'I'm very grateful and thankful for whoever it was who decided to name the stadium this way. Tennis fans slam BBC live coverage of Queen's after Emma Raducanu snub ahead of Wimbledon

While Sonay Kartal, Jodie Burrage and two-time Wimbledon champ Petra Kvitova were live on TV, that meant that Raducanu and Boulter - second up on Court 1 - were overlooked on BBC Two. The match was Raducanu's second WTA doubles match of her career - and a first win. Quizzed if they would team up again at Wimbledon, the former US Open champion downplayed their ambitions. Raducanu - delighted to have overcome any injury concerns as she ended the match with a volley - insisted: 'It's a spontaneous thing, we're just trying to do the best we can this week.
