Srivari darshan tokens for locals on Sunday
Tirumala: The TTD will issue tokens under the Local Darshan Quota on Sunday, May 4, as part of the darshan arrangements provided to local residents on the first Tuesday of every month.
Accordingly, Srivari Darshan tokens will be issued from 5 a.m. onwards on a first-come, first-served basis—at the Mahathi Auditorium counters for Tirupati residents, and at the Balaji Nagar Community Hall for Tirumala residents.
Local devotees from Tirupati Urban, Tirupati Rural, Chandragiri, and Renigunta mandals are requested to present their Aadhaar card and collect tokens at these locations on Sunday.

Adyar restoration is to start in Sept; relocated families receive homes
Chennai: Restoration work on Adyar River will begin in Sept at an estimated 1,500 crore. As part of this project, the govt resettled 916 families from Anakaputhur, providing them with fully equipped housing and comprehensive support services. Between May 20 and 27, as many as 916 families from Thaimugambigai Nagar, Shanthi Nagar, MGR Nagar, and Quiad-e-Millath Nagar were moved to newly built homes. A total of 404 families were relocated to Keerapakkam, 260 families to Thailavaram, and the remaining 252 families resettled at a housing board in Perumbakkam. "Each family received a 400 sqft house, worth around 17.5 lakh. In addition, the govt offered an initial relocation allowance of 5,000, a monthly support of 2,500 for one year, and electricity deposits. Based on public requests, we arranged bus facilities to improve connectivity from Keerapakkam starting June 1. Additionally, Wi-Fi services have been set up through TNUHDB," said Tambaram corporation commissioner S Balachander. Special camps were also organised to assist with Aadhaar updates, ration card corrections, and enrolment in govt welfare schemes. The civic body provided educational support, including issuing transfer certificates and arranging new school admissions for children relocated from Anakaputhur. Currently, the local authorities are clearing debris near the water body, and restoration work is expected to officially begin in Sept, with chief minister M K Stalin scheduled to lay the foundation stone.

Saplings planted in Tirumala
Tirumala: On World Environment Day, TTD has organised plantation programme in Tirumala near Gogarbham Circle on Thursday. TTD Additional EO Ch Venkaiah Chowdary planted Ficus Bengalensis (Banyan-Marri) plant in the premises of Octopus Building. He said that TTD is planting 2,000 saplings in Tirumala on this occasion. Stating that they took steps to increase greenery in Tirumala by 80 per cent, he informed soon they will organise a programme to plant two lakh saplings along with forest department. TTD Deputy CF Srinivas, Deputy EO (Health) Somannarayana, FRO Doraswamy, health officer Madhusudhan, EE Sudhakar and officers also planted samplings.
