100 Years, 100 Iconic Beaches
From hidden coves to legendary coastlines to remote paradises, these beaches aren't just destinations; they're places where people have travelled for centuries to disconnect from the real world and reconnect with nature.
To build the guide, Corona assembled a panel of beach experts – comprised of oceanographers, surfers, free divers and other nature specialists – all who meticulously rated hundreds of the world's beaches using a unique set of criteria. Each beach in the Corona Beach 100 is "Sun Awarded" – rated between one to three suns – and recognizes the locations that embody the true spirit of "This is Living" based on three essential elements: Beachside Culture, Connection to Nature and Scenic Aesthetics.
The guide includes sandy beaches from famed hotspots within South Africa, Mexico and Brazil, as well as locations such as Chile's Punta de Lobos and Iceland's Stokksnes Beach, among many more.

Mark Carney is setting the tone for the G7 and he knows the cost of playing it safe is irrelevance

By Contributing Columnist Jaime Watt is the executive chairman of Navigator Ltd. and a Conservative strategist. He is a freelance contributing columnist for the Star. @jaimewatt. It would be safe — perhaps even generous — to say that Prime Minister Mark Carney is stepping into a minefield of diplomatic hazards, moral compromise, and geopolitical volatility ahead of the G7 this week in Kananaskis, Alberta. Turn right, and you might face (his attendance is unclear at the time of writing) the Prime Minister of India — whose government stands accused by Canada of orchestrating an assassination on Canadian soil. Modi-Carney talks could unlock India-Canada trade potential says Canadian strategist Lubimov

Vancouver [Canada] June 14 (ANI): Lubimov Kirk, a Canadian-based Financial Strategist, stated in an exclusive interview with ANI that the entrance of incoming Prime Minister Mark Carney presents an opportunity for Ottawa and New Delhi to begin stalled trade discussions and increase collaboration on energy, technology, and essential minerals. 'Canada's invitation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for next week's G7 summit might restart a relationship with 'enormous, mainly untapped economic upside,' according to Vancouver-based financial analyst Kirk Lubimov. Lubimov emphasised that, notwithstanding recent tensions, India's attendance at the G7 summit demonstrates acceptance of its growing global status. India is presently the world's fourth-largest economy. Ignoring that reality would be both stupid and counterproductive for Canada,' he said. 'Canada-India commerce potential is huge,' Lubimov said, citing Canadian liquefied natural gas, battery-grade nickel, and rare earth reserves that align with India's clean tech goals. He projected that Modi and Carney would hold a separate bilateral discussion on the G7 sidelines to restart the Early Progress Trade Agreement, which has been inactive since diplomatic ties worsened last year. Lubimov praised Carney for having a 'more level-headed approach' than his predecessor, Justin Trudeau. Trudeau's tenure was marred by claims of Indian involvement in the 2023 assassination of separatist activist Hardeep Singh Nijjar and increased Khalistani activism in Canada. 'Carney doesn't appear beholden to those pressure groups, and that alone signals a reset,' he said. Lubimov called Khalistani separatism 'a national security threat that's damaged Canada's international image,' citing rallies where effigies of Indian leaders were burned and protesters openly threatened violence. Viral photos from a recent Vancouver demonstration showing Pakistani flags, he added, 'confirm what our intelligence service said a year ago that Islamabad is working hand in glove with these activists.' He urged Ottawa to move on India's pending extradition requests for 26 fugitives and to address gaps in student visa screening. 'Millions have arrived on study permits with virtually no background checks.' The analyst also condemned last month's incident in which independent journalist Mocha Bezirgan was surrounded and had his phone seized while covering a Khalistan rally, saying it underscored 'the climate of intimidation' surrounding the movement. Despite the hurdles, Lubimov remains optimistic. 'If both governments quarantine extremist politics and focus on trade, energy and innovation, ties could turn the corner faster than many expect,' he said. (ANI)

Indian Diaspora welcomes PM Modi's G7 visit as a chance to reset ties with Canada

New Jersey [US], June 14 (ANI): Global Indian Diaspora Alliance President HS Panesar has welcomed the upcoming visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Canada for the G7 Summit, calling it a pivotal moment to reset and rebuild Indo-Canadian relations. 'As of June 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's participation in the G7 Summit, hosted by Canadian Prime Minister Carney, is being widely viewed by the Indian diaspora and global observers as a crucial opportunity to address and improve the recent strain in bilateral ties,' Paneser said in an exclusive conversation. He noted that the prevailing sentiment within the diaspora is one of cautious optimism. 'This G7 Summit offers a significant chance to move past the recent diplomatic chill, which largely stemmed from allegations made by the previous Canadian government. The invitation extended by Prime Minister Carney is seen as an olive branch -- a symbolic and strategic soft restart to the relationship,' he added. Paneser emphasised the strong foundation shared by India and Canada, especially in trade, critical minerals, technology, and academic exchange. 'Both countries have much to gain from strengthened cooperation. There is a growing desire to focus on mutual interests and respect. The deep-rooted people-to-people ties -- especially the presence of a large Indian student population and a vibrant diaspora in Canada -- form a solid foundation for this renewed engagement,' said Paneser. He further lauded PM Modi's consistent emphasis on maintaining cordial international relations. 'The fact that PM Modi has been invited to the G7, despite India not being a member, underscores India's rising global stature as the world's most populous country and fourth-largest economy,' Paneser remarked. The Global Indian Diaspora Alliance views the invitation as recognition of India's pivotal role in global supply chains and its increasing importance in the world economy. 'We see this visit as a pivotal moment to rebuild trust, enhance cooperation, and usher in a more constructive and mutually beneficial phase in Indo-Canadian relations,' he said. 'In the spirit of progress and partnership, we, the members of the Indian diaspora, wholeheartedly welcome this positive move and hope it marks the beginning of better days for both nations,' Paneser concluded. PM Modi will pay an official visit to Cyprus, Canada and Croatia from June 15-19, the Ministry of External Affairs said on Saturday. According to MEA, PM Modi will visit Cyprus on June 15-16, followed by participation in the G7 Summit in Kananaskis, Canada, on June 16-17, and finally, an official visit to Croatia on June 18. During the second leg of his visit, at the invitation of Canadian PM Mark Carney, PM Modi will travel to Kananaskis in Canada on June 16-17 to participate in the G7 Summit. This would be PM Modi's 6th consecutive participation in the G7 Summit, according to the MEA statement. At the Summit, PM Modi will exchange views with leaders of G7 countries, other invited outreach countries and Heads of International Organisations on crucial global issues, including energy security, technology and innovation, particularly the AI-energy nexus and Quantum-related issues. PM Modi will also hold several bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the Summit. (ANI)
