Algeria's National Agency for the Valorization of Hydrocarbon Resources (ALNAFT), under the Ministry of Energy, Mines and Renewable Energies, has extended the bid submission deadline for the 'Algeria Bid Round 2024' to 17 June 2025.
The previous deadline was 15 April 2025.
The bid round offers investment opportunities in six hydrocarbon exploration areas across multiple provinces:
Production Sharing Contracts
·Le Grand M'Zaid
·Ahara
·Reggane II
·Zerafa II
Participation contracts
·Twal
·Guern El Guessa
The hydrocarbon contracts would be concluded between the national company Sonatrach and the successful bidders.
NAFT said the extension would give participating oil companies sufficient time to analyse recently finalised data and also attract more bidders.
The bid specifications are available on NAFT's website.

Dubai sees 95 project launches in Q1 2025, adds 29,000 units

Nearly 95 new projects were launched in Dubai in the first quarter of 2025, which are expected to add 29,000 residential units to the market, according to a report by real estate consultancy firm Cavendish Maxwell. Approximately 9,300 residential units were completed in the first quarter of 2025, with apartments accounting for 79 percent of the total and the remainder comprising villas and townhouses, the report said. This marks the second-highest quarterly completion volume in the past two years, surpassed only by the fourth quarter of 2023. Dubai's housing supply is expected to see substantial growth, with nearly 300,000 units projected to enter the market by 2028. A significant portion of this new supply is anticipated in 2026 and 2027, indicating a potential surge in completions during those years, the report said. Over the rest of 2025, 73,000 units are forecast for delivery. However, actual completions may be impacted by shifting market dynamics, evolving buyer preferences, and potential delays in construction timelines. 'Given these factors, it will be crucial to observe how developers adjust their strategies to manage this increased supply, respond to market demand, and ensure timely delivery,' the consultancy stated. Algeria sets 17 June as bid opening date for 2024 oil and gas round

Algeria has set 17 June 2025 as the opening date for bids received under the 2024 Bid Round, National Agency for the Valorisation of Hydrocarbon Resources in Algeria (ALNAFT) announced on Thursday. The 2024 round, launched in October 2024 with six onshore blocks, attracted the interest of 41 global operators. Speaking in a webinar hosted in partnership with the African Energy Chamber (AEC) and Wood Mackenzie, Mourad Beldjehem, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ALNAFT, said they were optimistic on awarding "at least" five out of the six blocks, adding that ALNAFT intends to select the same type of blocks, featuring both exploration and development opportunities for its 2025 Bid Round, slated for launch in the fourth quarter this year. The country's new Hydrocarbon Law, introduced in 2019, helped reverse declining production in the OPEC member, and put it on track to maintain sales gas production of 10 billion cubic feet per day until the end of the decade.
