Two men have been charged with second-degree murder in connection with 1999 murder case. Investigators from Quebec's provincial police (SQ) unsolved case division have arrested two men in connection with the 1999 murder of Maxime Berthiaume. Kenneth Forman, 82, of Lachine, and Timothy Helpin, 58, of Deux-Montagnes, were arrested on warrants for second-degree murder. The accused appeared virtually at the Joliette courthouse on Tuesday. According to the SQ, Berthiaume was reported missing by his family in February 1999. Montreal police (SPVM), along with the SQ, conducted an investigation. In January, SQ investigators were able to establish a link between Berthiaume's disappearance and the unidentified body of a homicide victim found in September 2015 in Rawdon.

On May 20, OPP were called to an address on Oxbow Drive in Komoka with a report of a theft. Police launched an investigation, leading to a search warrant being obtained. A home on Wonderland Road in London was searched, leading to charges. The 43-year-old woman is facing charges for possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and theft under $5,000.

$11K in cosmetics stolen from Guelph store

Guelph Police are investigating yet another cosmetics theft in the city. The latest incident happened around 5 p.m. on June 8 at a business near Gordon Street and Clair Road. Police said one woman distracted the employee by drawing her to the back of the store, while three other women put products inside their clothes. After all four women left the business, staff discovered approximately 70 items had been taken. The cost of the cosmetics has been estimated at $11,400. Suspect descriptions Police shared the following descriptions of the suspects. One woman had brown skin, was approximately 5'8' and had a medium build. She wore a loose black dress, black and white striped shirt, grey head covering and a blue face mask. The second woman had brown skin, was approximately 5'7' and had a heavy build. She wore a loose colourful skirt, a long pink shirt, long white blouse, white headscarf and white face mask. The third woman had brown skin, was approximately 5'5' and had a small build. She wore a loose colourful skirt, long white blouse, white headscarf and white face mask. The fourth woman had brown skin, was approximately 5'8' and had a heavy build. She wore a black winter jacket, a black and white polka dot skirt, grey shirt, beige headscarf and blue face mask. Previous thefts Sunday's incident was just the latest cosmetics theft reported this year to Guelph Police. A store at Gordon Street and Clair Road was hit twice over the last few months. Police said $1,300 in cosmetics were taken on April 15, followed by another $1,200 worth of products on May 4. Thieves stole nearly $950 worth of fragrances from a business near Eramosa Road and Stevenson Street North on May 26. That same day, fragrances with a combined value of $1,000 were taken from a store at Stone Road Mall. On Feb. 9, more than $4,200 in cosmetics were stolen from a business near Eramosa Road and Stevenson Street North.
