Paul Pogba targeting return to France team in time for 2026 World Cup
According to a report from RMC Sport, Paul Pogba (32) is targeting a return to the France national team, with the midfielder keen to be involved in Didier Deschamps' squad for the FIFA World Cup in 2026.
The 2018 World Cup winner is once more free to play football after his ban from the sport for doping charges was reduced from four years to 18 months. In January, the Frenchman was allowed to return to training, and then in March, he was allowed to play.

In November 2024, he agreed to mutually terminate his contract with Juventus. However, despite the ban coming to an end, he did not immediately return to club football and has instead opted to wait until after the 2024/25 season to join a new club. Recently, he has been linked with a move to Ligue 1 with AS Monaco reportedly close to agreeing a deal.
It would be the first time that Pogba has tasted the French top flight. Despite having spent time at the Le Havre AC academy, he was snapped up by Manchester United, where he would go on to make his professional debut.

Trump's Soccer Faux Pas Leaves Juventus Players Speechless
Trump's Soccer Faux Pas Leaves Juventus Players Speechless originally appeared on Athlon Sports. President Donald Trump's recent Oval Office meeting with Juventus FC turned into a comedic spectacle when he lobbed an ill-informed hand grenade of a question at the Italian players. 'Could a woman make your team, fellas?' he asked, leaving players visibly stunned. The room froze, jaws dropped, and awkward silence reigned. Advertisement Clearly unbriefed, Trump's query showed his trademark flair for diving headfirst into topics he barely grasps. Juventus, in town for the 2025 Club World Cup, didn't expect a gender debate with the Commander-in-Chief. Players exchanged glances, unsure whether to laugh or bolt for the exit according to Sky Sports. Thankfully, Juventus General Manager Damien Comolli swooped in with a diplomatic save. 'We have a very good women's team,' he replied, deftly sidestepping Trump's ill-informed gaffe. Comolli's response highlighted Juventus Women, a powerhouse that's clinched multiple Serie A titles. Trump, undeterred, pressed on, audibly muttering gibberish about women playing with other women. Social media erupted with reactions. Fans on X called Trump's question 'clueless' and 'cringe-worthy,' with one user joking, 'Does he think soccer's like his golf game, make up rules as you go?' (X posts). The internet feasted on the gaffe, memeing Trump as a bumbling coach. Juventus players, known for their on-field poise, stayed silent, likely baffled by the President's soccer ignorance. UEFA's official site confirms Juventus Women compete separately, a fact Trump could've googled in seconds or been briefed by his team. His off-the-cuff style, while entertaining, missed the mark entirely per Trump: 'Could a woman make your team, fellas?' - cue crickets!Photographer: Ken Cedeno/UPI/Bloomberg via Getty Images This isn't Trump's first rodeo with sports blunders. From botching athlete names to claiming he could outplay pros, his track record screams unprepared according to Yet, the Juventus encounter stands out for its sheer awkwardness, a masterclass in how not to host world-class athletes in the most powerful office in any town, anywhere. Advertisement The meeting wasn't all laughs. Juventus, focused on their Club World Cup opener, deserved a spotlight on their achievements, not Trump's tangent. Still, the President's gaffe gave fans a moment to chuckle at his expense . In true Trump fashion, he left the room oblivious to the chaos he'd sparked. Juventus, ever professional, moved on to dominate their match. Meanwhile, the world's left wondering: will Trump ever do his homework? Carlos Cuesta, 29, becomes youngest Serie A coach in nearly a century
PARMA, Italy (AP) — Carlos Cuesta has become the youngest coach in Serie A in nearly a century after being hired by Parma on Thursday. It is the 29-year-old Cuesta's first role as a head coach after spending the past five years as an assistant at English Premier League club Arsenal. Parma announced that Cuesta signed a two-year contract with the option of a third year. Cuesta has experience in Italy, having been an assistant coach with the under-17 team at Juventus for two years. He also worked with Atletico Madrid's youth teams prior to that. Cuesta, a Mallorca native, is the second-youngest coach ever to work in the Italian top flight. In 1939, Elio Loschi was 29 years, 9 months, 20 days old when he took charge of his first match as player-coach at Triestina. Cuesta will be 30 years, 26 days old when he takes to the dugout for Parma's first match, coincidentally also against Juventus. Italian media reported that Cuesta took his first steps into coaching when he was studying in Madrid. He messaged members of the technical staff of both the city's teams on social media until the then-coach of Atletico's under-12 team responded. ___

Watch: Lamine Yamal enjoying vacation with Barcelona icon Neymar
Fresh off international duty with Spain in the UEFA Nations League, Lamine Yamal is already enjoying his vacation. With his 18th birthday just around the corner, Yamal has big plans for the upcoming season, with the youngster particularly keen on winning the Champions League title with Barcelona. Advertisement For now, though, Yamal is enjoying his vacation in Brazil, where he was seen playing with Neymar. This was revealed through Neymar's Instagram account, where the former Barcelona attacker posted a video of Yamal kicking a volleyball in what looks like a beach volleyball court. It appears the two are enjoying the vacation together in Brazil, which is quite interesting as it suggests the two share an excellent relationship. This comes as a treat to the eyes of Barcelona fans, many of whom believe that Yamal resembles the style of Neymar. The two could have even played together if Barcelona had entertained the idea of re-signing Neymar earlier in the year- a topic that was widely discussed. Advertisement But Neymar eventually moved on to his former club Santos, though his contract at the Brazilian club is set to expire at the end of the month. Given that Neymar will soon become a free agent, it is rather interesting to see the Brazilian enjoying his vacation with one of Barcelona's top players this summer.
