New Delhi [India], : The South Korean government plans to provide 250 billion won in low-interest loans to small and medium-sized auto-parts manufacturers of the state until the end of next year, to help withstand potential negative impacts from the high tariffs imposed by the United States reports Korea Herald.The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced that auto-parts manufacturers who have exported environment-friendly vehicles since 2024 are eligible to apply for the loan program. The survey was conducted by local pollster Mono Research and commissioned by the country's major business lobby, the Federation of Korean Industries.The survey also suggested that the worst hit sector is expected to be companies that produce electronics, which is likely to see a steep decline of 8.3 percent, followed by automobiles and parts with a 7.9 percent drop, petroleum products down at 7.2 percent, general machinery at 6.4 percent, semiconductors at 3.6 percent and steel at 2.8 percent.

The Seamen's Memorial Hall is Norway's official memorial in commemoration of the seafarers who perished during the First and Second World War. Industry body IESA pushes for green reuse of EV batteries
New Delhi [India], June 3 (ANI): The Industry body, Energy Storage Association in India (IESA), has said the Centre should ensure collaboration among the Ministries of Environment, Power, and New and Renewable Energy to maximise the potential of used electric vehicle batteries in stationary applications and enhance material efficiency. The industry body said in a release that this partnership should focus on establishing clear norms for the reuse of used batteries, including necessary licensing and procedures. The industry body added that the country lacks a well-functioning open market to promote technology solutions for grid balancing. The IESA added that the ancillary services market needs improvement to enhance energy storage deployment and support the grid. It further added that the government should ensure the timely implementation of the draft Indian Electricity Grid Code (IEGC) 2022, allowing storage to be part of primary reserves. India needs to learn from other countries, especially the UK, which links ancillary service payments to service performance and categorises response times (sub-second, 1 second, 10 seconds, etc) to boost the adoption of suitable technologies, the IESA said. The recommendations also included lower entry barriers for technologies and stakeholders, import duty reduction, GST reduction, a compliance framework for energy storage obligations, and the addition of technical specifications for the operation of energy storage systems in tropical climatic conditions in India. The industry body said that a collaborative approach between the government and business can go a long way in ensuring sustainable growth for the energy storage market. Debmalya Sen, President, India Energy Storage Alliance (IESA) said, 'As we stand on the brink of a transformative shift in India's energy landscape, it is important that we foster a robust policy and regulatory framework that accelerates the deployment of energy storage solutions. Our recommendations, gathered from over 25 industry leaders, aim to ensure safety and innovation in energy storage technologies, ensuring a sustainable and secure energy future for all Indians. This will not only enhance grid stability but also propel us towards our ambitious renewable energy targets.' IESA has recommended to the government that nations worldwide are facing supply chain issues that threaten the growth strategies of various economies. Having a clear assessment of supply chain risks and a definite plan for material procurement is also very relevant for India, as it is planning to adopt energy storage to progress on its energy transition and provide a clear outlook of the energy storage market to all stakeholders. IESA has recommended to the government that nations worldwide are facing supply chain issues that threaten the growth strategies of various economies. Having a clear assessment of supply chain risks and a definite plan for material procurement is also very relevant for India, as it is planning to adopt energy storage to progress on its energy transition and provide a clear outlook of the energy storage market to all stakeholders. RCB create history, end 18-year wait for IPL trophy as PBKS fall short in pulsating final
Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], June 3 (ANI): Finally, after 18 years, it is party time for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) as a brilliant spell from Krunal Pandya and solid pace bowling from trio of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Josh Hazlewood and Yash Dayal brought them their first-ever Indian Premier League (IPL) title with a six-run win over Punjab Kings (PBKS) at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium on Tuesday. The wait for the title continues for PBKS, who reached their first final in 11 years under the exceptional leadership of Shreyas Iyer and head coach Ricky Ponting. However, after 18 overs, skipper Rajat Patidar has lifted the title for RCB, with their superstar batter Virat Kohli getting his first-ever IPL trophy after 18 years with the team. Shashank's brilliance (61* in 30 balls, with three fours and six sixes) proved inadequate for PBKS as the flush of shots came too late for the team. Shashank hit three sixes in the final over, not giving up the fight till the last. Chasing a challenging 191, PBKS started off well with the opening pair of Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh taking down Bhuvneshwar Kumar with a four and six, taking 13 runs in over one. Priyansh tried to dominate Josh Hazlewood with two fours, but a stunning catch from Phil Salt near the ropes took Priyansh back to the pavillion for 24 in 19 balls, with four boundaries.
