Sligo Rovers will spend the summer break bottom of the Premier Division table.

St Patrick's Athletic and Stephen Kenny earned a hard fought win over Sligo
Stephen Kenny's side should have made things more comfortable for themselves as they created the best of the chances in this one.
Although Rovers substitute Francely Lomboto did have a chance in the 96th minute to take a late point, however the Galway man could only fire straight at Pat's net minder Joseph Anang.
As has happened so often this season, Rovers made things tough for themselves by falling behind early on.
Jay McClelland had forced Sam Sargeant into an early two-handed save with an effort from distance before ex-Rovers man Keena dispatched a tenth minute penalty after Simon Power.

He's another former Showgrounds favourite, had collided with Jake Doyle-Hayes inside the Sligo area.
Cian Kavanagh, who spent 2024 with Pat's, was unable to get any purchase on a Doyle-Hayes set piece as his attempted header trickled harmlessly wide of Joe Anang's goal.
The Dubliners were left frustrated that they were unable to make their dominance count further given their control of the contest and lost centre half Sean Hoare to what seemed like a hamstring injury before the interval.

Power passed up a couple of opportunities early in the second period, bending one around Sargeant's far post close to the hour.
While Ronan Manning's shot after trojan work from Rovers' teen full-back Conor Reynolds was deflected on to the top of Anang's post by Joe Redmond.

Pat's were struggling to shake Sligo off as the game wore on and Power should have had their second on 65 but couldn't stretch in time to meet Zach Elbouzedi's cross with an open goal on offer.
Lennon dragged an effort from 20 yards narrowly wide with eight to go while Sligo sub Lomboto fluffed an opportunity in the sixth minute of added time at the end of the contest after a neat one-two with Jad Hakiki opened up the space in front of Anang.

Kildare v Sligo LIVE updates from the Tailteann Cup clash

Sligo take on Kildare in the Tailteann Cup Group 1, with top spot on the line for the victor. Both teams are on 4 points after dispatching Leitrim and Tipperary in their previous two group games. The latter two sides play each other in Mullingar with throw in at 1:45pm there, with the winner of that clash advancing to the preliminary quarter final. We begin proceedings at 2pm here, with plenty on the line here in Dr Hyde Park, Roscommon. The winner here will skip the preliminary quarter-final phase and go straight through to earn a well-deserved extra week's rest. Sligo were lucky to get away from Carrick-on-Shannon with a win last time out, coming back from 4 down in the second half to remain unblemished. Kildare took care of Tipp well in their last game, winning by 3-19 to 1-11. The teams are as follows: Sligo: Aidan Devaney; Evan Lyons, Eddie McGuinness, Paul McNamara; Brian Cox, Darragh Cummins, Luke Towey; Paul Kilcoyne, Patrick O'Connor; Alan Reilly, David Quinn, Cian Lally; Alan McLoughlin, Niall Murphy, Pat Spillane. Kildare: Cian Burke; Harry O'Neill, Mark Dempsey, Brian Byrne; Tommy Gill, David Hyland, James McGrath; Kevin Feely, Brendan Gibbons; Ben McCormack, Alex Beirne, Darragh Swords; Ryan Sinkey, Daniel Flynn, Jimmy Hyland. Welcome everyone, to a cloudy Dr Hyde Park in Roscommon where Sligo take on Kildare in round three of the Tailteann Cup Group 1. Plenty at stake here, as the winner here gains top spot of Group 1 and all the psychological benfits that come with it, but most importantly a week off as they go straight through to the quarter-finals without the hassle of the prelims. Both teams are warming up here as we have just over half an hour to go until throw-in.

Restricted by the top flight's smallest budget, boss Russell has had to rely on a mix of academy players and unproven signings from both here and the UK to make up his squad. Investment is required but the gaffer also believes that some of his players are not performing to the levels he requires. He groaned: 'It's been tough. Sligo are a point off Cork City in ninth with the Rebels a whopping ten points back from Munster rivals Waterford. Yet Russell is adamant his men can haul it back. He added: 'How can I take time off now when we're bottom of the league? 'I'm a hard-working manager so I'll continue to work hard to get results. 'If you're managing a team in the position we're in, of course I'm under pressure. 'But I look at everything I'm doing all the time and you have to do the right thing. 'Can we turn it around? Absolutely.'
