Off-duty park ranger credited with finding child at center of Amber Alert
A Five Rivers MetroParks Ranger is credited with finding a missing 18-month-old after an Amber Alert was issued in Montgomery County early Wednesday morning.

The Amber Alert was issued around 12:15 a.m. for 18-month-old Maryjane Van-Brederode.
Ranger Johnson, who was off-duty at the time the alert went off, was in the area and decided to drive around, a spokesperson for Five Rivers MetroParks said in social media post.

The alert said the child was last seen in the 4600 block of Drew Way. The vehicle involved was a 2017 blue Chevy Cruze.
Johnson drove around in search of the vehicle described in the alert. He found the vehicle abandoned with the child inside it around Windlow Drive and Churchland Avenue, about five blocks from where the vehicle was stolen.
Johnson checked on the child and immediately alerted Trotwood police, according to the spokesperson in the social media post.
'We want to give a huge shout out to Ranger Johnson for his excellent work and to all our Rangers who do incredible things for the community – on and off duty,' the Five Rivers MetroParks spokesperson said.

Man arrested as part of FBI investigation, charged in connection with 3 pipe bomb incidents
A man was arrested as part of an FBI investigation and has been charged in connection with three pipe bomb incidents. As previously reported by News Center 7, FBI agents were seen going in and out of a home in an Ohio neighborhood. 'This alleged activity posed a serious risk to public safety,' said Elena Iatarola, FBI Cincinnati Special Agent in Charge. 'The FBI worked closely with our law enforcement partners to neutralize this potential danger and protect the community.' Gilb is accused of detonating three improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in Hamilton and Butler counties, according to court documents. 'A complaint affidavit details that on April 12, Hamilton County sheriff's deputies were dispatched to Miami Township for a report of a loud explosion. They discovered what appeared to be a blast crater and components of an improvised explosive device (IED),' said FBI Cincinnati. 'Further investigation revealed that there were two prior incidents in Morgan Township that allegedly had similar characteristics to the incident in Miami Township. Butler County sheriff's deputies had responded to incidents there on March 23 and March 28.' Witnesses allegedly saw Gilb in a white BMW near the site where at least one of the IEDs exploded, FBI Cincinnati said. He faces up to 10 years in prison if he's convicted of both charges. WATCH: Firefighters put out garage fire; almost $150K in damage done
Firefighters quickly put out a well-involved garage fire in Huber Heights on Wednesday. [DOWNLOAD: Free WHIO-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] Huber Heights firefighters responded around 12:40 p.m. to the 7900 block of Thistlewood Court on reports of a garage fire. The department posted a video on social media. It shows the flames and black smoke surrounding the garage. Firefighters quickly extinguished it.
