Speaking to Bombay Times about the male ego and power dynamics in celebrity relationships, Raj said, 'I say it with pride — Shilpa's success is our success.
I've never been insecure about her spotlight. If anything, it inspires me. Real strength in a man comes from being secure enough to lift others — especially your partner — without feeling smaller in the process. That's not ego-less, that's evolved love.'
'There was anger, hurt and confusion, but also deep self-reflection'
Over the last few years, Raj has faced legal and public scrutiny.
In July 2021, he was arrested by the Mumbai Police for allegedly producing and distributing adult content via an app. He spent 63 days in Arthur Road Jail before being granted bail in September 2021.
Reflecting on that period, he shared, 'Those were some of the darkest times of my life. There was anger, hurt and confusion, but also deep self-reflection. I could've let that chapter define me, but I chose instead to learn from it.
The truth has its own timeline, and I've made peace with that. My focus now is to move forward with clarity, creativity and courage.'

Raj's legal battle is far from over. While he remains out on bail, the case is still under trial. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is also investigating him for alleged money laundering and has reportedly attached assets worth nearly Rs 98 crore.

Such a phase, he says, tests every bond in his life. 'Some friendships vanished overnight, others got stronger than ever. But the real pain was watching my loved ones suffer because of my headlines.
That guilt stays with you. And yet, the love they gave me during that storm is what saved me. You realise who your tribe is, and you never take them for granted again,' he said, adding, 'Shilpa stood by me with grace and resilience, even when it would've been easier to walk away. My kids gave me reason to smile when I felt like disappearing. That kind of unconditional support rewires your soul.'
The businessman, who is also dabbling in acting, will be seen in the Punjabi film Mehar. Talking about wanting to be a part of compelling content, he said, 'I'm not chasing stardom — I'm chasing stories.'

As per early estimates by Kuberaa collected Rs 12.98 crore on day one, falling short of Dhanush's previous theatrical release Raayan, which had an opening day collection of Rs 15.7 crore. The Telugu version of Kuberaa recorded an overall occupancy of 50.19% on Friday, with morning shows at 38.94%, afternoon shows at 54.58%, and evening shows peaking at 57.04%. Despite the slightly underwhelming opening, the film is expected to gain momentum over the weekend owing to strong word of mouth. In the Hindi belt, however, it faces competition from Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par. Produced by Suniel Narang and Puskur Rammohan Rao under Amigos Creations, Kuberaa showcases Dhanush in the role of a beggar, a performance that has earned him critical praise for its depth and transformation. On Friday, Dhanush was spotted attending the first day, first show of the film with his son Linga at Rohini Silver Screens in Chennai. Casting couch: Film producer denied anticipatory bail
Ahmedabad: A city sessions court on Friday denied anticipatory bail to a self-proclaimed film producer who was accused of a casting couch incident by a TV actress in April. The 30-year-old woman, who acts in Gujarati TV serials, had filed the complaint with Vasna police, accusing the man of rape, cheating and extorting Rs 20 lakh. She stated that she had met the accused in Aug 2022 at a party in Mumbai, where he introduced himself as a film producer and promised her roles in feature films. They remained in touch and developed a close friendship. In Feb 2023, the complainant rented a flat in Vasna, where she allegedly lived with the accused. He allegedly promised her marriage and persuaded her into an intimate relationship, saying he would legally separate from his wife who had purportedly demanded Rs 5 lakh as settlement. Vasna police charged the accused with cheating, blackmail, criminal intimidation and rape. Fearing arrest, the producer sought anticipatory bail while maintaining innocence in the case with public prosecutor Sudhir Brahmbhatt opposing his plea. After the hearing, additional sessions judge H G Pandya said, "In view of the fact that the applicant made the complainant a victim of casting couch and threatened to circulate videos of her private moments, which indicates that such acts were committed by the applicant…Since the present applicant appears to be the main accused in the offence and is actively and primarily involved, as evident from the investigation papers, and considering the nature of the offence, it does not appear justifiable or appropriate to grant anticipatory bail to the applicant at this stage. "
