Denver weather: Warm Friday, but rain for the holiday weekend
DENVER (KDVR) — Friday will be the warmest and driest day of the extended Denver weather forecast. The long Memorial Day holiday weekend is unfortunately looking fairly grey, cool and wet, especially on Sunday.
Some thunderstorms will be possible Saturday afternoon, some of which may be on the strong to severe side. More widespread and steady rain is expected for Sunday, but severe weather is not forecast.

Friday afternoon will see June-like temperatures with highs climbing into the middle 80s across northeast Colorado. Parts of southeast Colorado will climb into the lower 90s with middle 90s also possible. The high country will also be unseasonably mild.
Denver will be mostly dry overnight Friday, although one or two light showers will be possible. Lows will also be slightly above normal when we cool into the lower 50s. Winds will be lighter.
Sunday looks to be the wettest day of the next seven. Rain may be heavy at times. Those spotty areas of rain and thunderstorms will continue through Memorial Day Monday. Rain totals may exceed one inch in some communities through Monday night.
Temperatures will also be cool Sunday and Monday with highs only in the lower to middle 60s. A gradual warming trend will see us back in the 70s Tuesday through the rest of next work week, but daily opportunities for rain will persist into the final days of May.

Dry Start to June, Temperatures May Reach 90s This Week
Welcome to June, Maryland! It was a cool start to the month with morning temperatures in the 40s and 50s. Sunshine helps warm temperatures into the 70s for Sunday afternoon. The day will be on the breezy side, with wind gusts possibly reaching 30 mph. If you notice a different look to the sky today, that might be due to wildfire smoke coming out of Canada. It looks like the smoke stays high in the sky for today and into Monday, not impacting our air quality. The First Alert Weather team will keep an eye on the smoke forecast as the wildfires continue to burn for our neighbors to the north. We have a *chance* to maybe see the Northern Lights late Sunday and early Monday. A Severe geomagnetic storm alert has been issued by the Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC). Early on Sunday morning, SWPC confirmed that a severe geomagnetic storm had been observed. When that level is reached, there is a higher chance that the aurora could be seen farther south and possibly into Maryland. Warmer air continues to filter in toward the middle of the week. We'll eventually return to the 80s and even reach the 90s before week's end. What about rain? After ending May with above-normal precipitation, we're starting June in a dry stretch. Hazy skies in forecast as makani shifts E/SE
HONOLULU (KHON2) – Moderate to breezy trades will veer east-southeast tonight through Monday as a strengthening high well to our northeast interacts with a broad trough approaching from the northwest. This slightly veered wind direction will disrupt the trade wind flow across the smaller islands and allow for the development of land and sea breezes across leeward areas. An upper-level trough approaching from the northwest will lower 500 mb heights and temperatures, introducing some instability over the western half of the state Sunday through early next week. The instability associated with this feature and an influx of low level moisture may help to enhance windward showers overnight and sea breeze-induced clouds and showers over leeward areas during the afternoons, particularly over the western half of the state. This east-southeasterly flow may also transport vog to a majority of the island chain through early next week. Rain showers, high surf, rip current risk forecast for San Diego
SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — San Diego residents can expect some rain showers this weekend along with high surf and a strong rip current risk. Moisture from the tropics is bringing showers to San Diego County this weekend, the National Weather Service reports. Most of the rain is expected to evaporate in the atmosphere on its way to the surface, so just light rain and sprinkles are forecast to fall on the region Saturday into Sunday morning, however there have been some isolated reports of thunderstorms, along with a special weather statement that was in effect for Chula Vista Saturday afternoon calling for hail and strong winds. More weather: ➡️ | ⚠️ | 🗺️ Live Radar | 📧 By Sunday afternoon, heavier rain showers and isolated thunderstorms are possible for the region, but mainly for those in the mountains, inland valleys and desert areas, NWS reports, and is warning to watch for pooling on roadways or possible flash flooding. Julian is forecast to get the most rainfall Sunday evening. NWS has also issued beach hazard statements for San Diego County and Orange County coastal areas to expect elevated surf of 4 to 6 feet, with sets up to 7 to 8 feet, and a strong rip current risk from Sunday morning through Tuesday afternoon. The surf is expected to increase Sunday, peaking Monday, before falling off late Tuesday.
