EXCLUSIVE Her father is one of Britain's most famous hellraisers... so what is Liam Gallagher's daughter Molly Moorish REALLY like? As she prepares to become a mother at 27, one pal reveals all
Strolling down Marlborough High Street in the sunshine, they look like any normal couple. The pregnant 27-year-old smiles and stops to do some window shopping in her hometown while her doting boyfriend walks beside her. Few passersby would realise that this glowing mother-to-be is the daughter of one of the most famous men in Britain - while her boyfriend is a top footballer. 'She has no airs and graces,' a former St John's School pal told the MailOnline. 'Her father is a massive star, but Molly is pretty down to earth and humble.' The Molly they are referring to is Molly Moorish, daughter of Oasis legend Liam Gallagher and singer Lisa Moorish. Last week, she announced she was expecting her first child with partner and Liverpool footballer Nat Phillips, 28, three years after confirming their romance. It will make rockstar father-of-four Liam, 52, a grandad for the first time. It also comes seven years after Molly and Liam were reunited after almost two decades of estrangement. But Molly, described by the school pal as of the sweetest girls they've met, has never been one to boast of her famous connections. 'I can't say I ever talked to her about her dad,' the pal said, adding she is the total opposite of her hellraiser father. 'She was very nice, very popular even without mentioning her parents. 'She was also a massive Liverpool fan, so her and Nat are a match-made in heaven'. Up until their 2018 reunion, Molly publicly praised her maternal grandfather as her 'father' posting heartfelt social media posts describing him as 'my fav man' and gushing: 'Happy Father's Day grandad.' And while some celebrity daughters would have berated their absent father in the press, Molly has never been bitter about Liam's lack of involvement growing up. 'I don't have any anger. I'm actually thankful for how I was brought up with my mum and how my life's been,' she told The Sunday Times Magazine in 2019. 'I wouldn't be who I am now if... it's all happened the way it was meant to happen. We just got on and I'm happy to have him now.' Molly grew up in Marlborough where Kate and sister Pippa Middleton went to school at the prestigious Marlborough College. And as she prepares to become a mother FEMAIL explores the making of Molly.... The woman who made her who she is Molly's mother Lisa - the lead singer of indie band Kill City - began dating Liam before he married actress Patsy Kensit in April 1997. The pair then rekindled their affair a week after the wedding and Molly was born the following year. Lisa initially claimed the father was Elastica drummer Justin Welch. However, in December 2000, following his divorce from Kensit, it emerged that Liam was paying £2,000-a month in child maintenance. Explaining why he did not see Molly, Liam told the Sunday Times Magazine: 'As she was growing up, I thought it was the best way, instead of having me popping in and arguing with the f*** ing woman [Lisa Moorish]. 'She knows where I am and I'm there for her if she needs anything, like I have been since she was born, financially. I know it's not about that but it's better than nothing.' Lisa, who conceived Molly just weeks after Gallagher wed first wife Patsy Kensit, claimed he wanted nothing to do with the child as soon as she became pregnant. She wrote of the singer's attitude to his daughter after becoming incensed by his claims he believes in marriage and family that he had made at the time. In the magazine article, the father-of-four admitted he did not see Molly because he is 'not on good terms' with her mother. However, Lisa - who shares son Astile, 21, with rocker Pete Doherty - told how Liam was 'very angry' when she refused to abort Molly. She also insisted she would 'never' stop Molly having a relationship with Liam. In 2010, after Liam boasted about being a 'top dad' and a family man in an interview Lisa hit back on Twitter. She wrote: 'In response to an article involving my daughter; 14 years ago I had a two year on/ off relationship with a man from Manchester [Liam] as a result of that I became pregnant and had a beautiful daughter.' She continued: 'The man from Manchester was very angry that I decided to go ahead with the pregnancy and decided to stay out of her life. 'I felt sad about it but accepted it. He agreed to pay his way. 'She is now 12 and the most amazing girl, loved by all around her. She is also old enough to catch wind or [sic] articles which mention her. 'My only wish is that she has a good relationship with me and her father which is between them and I would NEVER get in the way.' Meanwhile, in 2017, the Oasis frontman said: 'I've just never got around to meeting her [Molly]. I've heard she's all right, though. She's doing all right. I never heard anything that she wanted to meet me.' The Reunion The Oasis rocker announced the happy news with a candid black and white photo showing him standing arm-in-arm with Molly. Cracking broad smiles, the father and daughter were joined by Liam's sons Lennon, then 18, and Gene, then 16, from his marriages to Patsy Kensit and Nicole Appleton, in the happy family snap. A proud Molly also posted the image, captioned 'As you were' in homage to her Wonderwall hitmaker father's album. It was thought she was there to attend her father's gig at the London Stadium, supporting The Rolling Stones. Just weeks after their emotional reunion, they attended a Rolling Stones gig together in the capital, seemingly eager to make up for lost time. Rebuilding Their Relationship Recalling their first meeting, Liam said: 'Me and Molly met in a pub across the road. Then we came here, got really drunk and that was really good.' Asked if he had felt nervous, he replied: 'Yeah, man, there were tears and all that…. 'It's a shame it didn't happen earlier, but you can't live in the past – you just have to draw the line and get stuck in with some super love going forward.' After meeting his daughter in her teenage years, the Oasis musician penned a song about her, called Now That I Found You, for his album. Speaking on The Chris Moyles Show on Radio X in 2019, he explained the song's title, saying: 'Not that she was lost or anything, or she was captured by the Taliban or anything like that. 'But it's got a 'now that you're in my life' kinda vibe. It's cool. It's nice.' The I'm Outta Time crooner revealed that while he is happy to have rekindled his relationship with his daughter, he is also worried that she'll get sick of him. He explained during an interview with BBC: 'I hope she doesn't get sick of me, you know what I mean.' Family Ties Despite Liam previously having no relationship with Molly, his previously estranged brother Noel did have a close bond with her. In 2017, Lisa defiantly shared snaps of Molly with her uncle on social media during the One Love Manchester concert. The singer-songwriter took to Instagram to share a cosy snap of her daughter beside her 'Uncle Noel' with the hashtag: 'Family first'. Moving Forward Now Liam is set to become a grandfather at 52. Molly announced the news with a sweet Instagram post last Wednesday as she showed off her blossoming baby bump while cosying up to Nathaniel. In the slew of snaps she also shared images of her blossoming bump, baby clothes and a throwback of herself, in the post captioned: 'bulking season [pregnant woman emoji].' Friends and fans were quick to flood the comments with congratulations.
