A SCOTTISH wingsuit flyer has died during a base jump in the Swiss alps.
Liam Byrne, 24, tragically lost his life at Gitschen mountain on Saturday.

His family confirmed to BBC Scotland that he had sadly died.
In a statement to the broadcaster, they said: "We would like to remember Liam not just for the way he left this world, but for how he lived in it.
"Liam was fearless, not necessarily because he wasn't afraid but because he refused to let fear hold him back. He chased life in a way that most of us only dream of and he soared.
"Skydiving and base jumping was more than just a thrill for Liam - it was freedom. It was where he felt most alive."
They added: "Liam was more than just an adventurer. He was a son, brother, grandson, cousin and friend. He was a source of laughter and strength.
"He inspired all of us and made life better with his bold spirit and kind heart. We will miss Liam's wild energy and contagious laugh.
"Though he has now flown beyond our reach, he will always be with us."

Nathan Wyburn's Oasis tribute displayed in Cardiff
The artwork will be unveiled at St David's shopping centre in Cardiff on Saturday, June 28, ahead of the band's long-awaited 2025 reunion tour. Festival goers must prove they are above the minimum age requirement before being allowed entry to TRNSMT. TRNSMT, one of Scotland's biggest and most popular festivals will take place from Friday, July 11 to Sunday, July 13. A-list artists including 50 Cent, Biffy Clyro and Snow Patrol will all headline this year's event at Glasgow Green, which usually sees around 150,000 attendees across the weekend. The TRNSMT festival has been running since 2017, and is widely considered a replacement for the iconic discontinued festival T in the Park, which last took place in 2016. But as TRNSMT looms, questions are rising on the rules that have been put in place for the massive music event, including which items are prohibited and the age restrictions for entry onto the site. So, are kids allowed at TRNSMT, and is there a minimum age requirement for entry? Here's everything you need to know. Are kids allowed at TRNSMT? While many Scottish festivals allow parents to bring young kids or even babies with them, everyone under the age of 16 is forbidden from entering the TRNSMT grounds. The festival follows the national Challenge 25 policy, meaning attendees can expect to be asked for ID when entering the festival site or when buying alcohol. The TRNSMT website reads: "A Challenge 25 policy will be in place. You must provide valid, in-date, original photographic ID (no photocopies or expired passports). "Entry to the festival is restricted to those 16+ and bar access is restricted to those 18+.Your ID must clearly resemble you and entry will be denied for false or borrowed IDs, which is a criminal offense. "Security checks will be thorough, and if we cannot quickly verify your ID or resemblance, you may experience delays. "We work with Police Scotland to ensure a robust process and fake IDs will be confiscated and returned to the issuing organisation." Which forms of ID are accepted at TRNSMT? The TRNSMT website shares the following list of accepted IDs: UK/International Driving Licence (Full/Provisional) UK/International Passport PASS card (Young Scot, CitizenCard, My ID Card) with a clear, untampered hologram. If the hologram is damaged, apply for a replacement as it won't be accepted. Also taking to the TRNSMT stage this year are artists including Fontaines D.C., Gracie Abrams, and The Script. Confidence Man, Jamie Webster, Inhaler, Wet Leg and the Kooks will also perform over the weekend. Glasgow Green will see another exciting gig in the run-up to TRNSMT, when rock band Catfish and the Bottlemen take to the stage, supported by Scotland's own The Fratellis plus The Wombats on July 9. TRNSMT was also central to a scandal this year when Irish rap trio Kneecap were pulled from the line-up. The band were axed after member Liam Óg Ó hAnnaidh was charged by the UK government with a terror offense after being accused of holding up a flag in support of Hezbollah at a gig last year. Music legends from across the globe are due to take to the stage in Glasgow Green, including 50 Cent, Biffy Clyro and Snow Patrol. The festival, which will take place from Friday, July 11 to Sunday, July 13 this year, usually sees a whopping 150,000 music lovers descend on the festival grounds in Glasgow city centre, with around 50,000 people attending each day of the event. The TRNSMT festival has been running since 2017, and is widely considered a replacement for the iconic discontinued festival T in the Park, which last took place in 2016. But as festival goers prepare for the big weekend, questions are rising on which items they are or are not allowed to bring into the TRNSMT grounds this year. So, what items are prohibited by the Scots festival, and which are okay to bring in? Here's everything you need to know. Which items can you bring into TRNSMT? The TRNSMT website lists several items you are allowed, and are even encouraged to bring with you to the event. These include: A bag smaller than A4 paper While large bags aren't allowed, any small bags that aren't bigger than a piece of A4 paper are allowed on the festival site. Bank card or contactless device The festival is cashless so attendees will need to bring a bank card or contactless device. All types of contactless cards and devices will be accepted by traders, bars and the festival's funfair. Collapsible water bottle 500ml or smaller Bringing an empty soft collapsible water bottle or pouch which is 500ml or smaller is recommended, so you can refill this at the free water points across the festival throughout the day. If you don't already have one, some cheap options are available, such as this one from Amazon, which retails at £9.99. Alternatively, this Decathlon option from Argos is available for £12. Portable phone chargers Power banks are also allowed into TRNSMT, so you can ensure your phone has enough juice to contact your friends if you get separated. One top-rated power bank is currently 40 per cent off on Amazon, now costing £14.99, and is available in either black or white. For those looking for a brighter portable charger, Argos offers this discounted one for £22.39 which comes in black, blue or pink. Ear plugs Ear plugs are an often forgotten essential for a festival, but it's vital to protect your ears from the booming base and cheering crowds. While Loops are a popular brand which are available on Amazon for £19.95, Debenhams offers a box of 200 foam ear plugs, currently on offer for £34.19. Small travel size sunscreen, lip balm and makeup, small cameras, sunglasses, wipes, and hand sanitiser can all also be brought into the festival. TRNSMT's website also explains that if you need to bring medicine, it must be clearly labelled in the original box or container and you should only take enough with you for one day. If you use a syringe, you should take it to a first aid point where you can dispose of it safely. Which items are prohibited from TRNSMT?
