Mumbai-based disposable hygiene products manufacturer, Nobel Hygiene, has raised approximately INR 170 crore (USD 20 million) in funding from Neo Asset Management, the investment arm of Neo Group.
The fresh round — a mix of primary and secondary capital infusion — will bolster Nobel Hygiene's efforts to expand market penetration, especially in the adult diaper category, and gear up for its upcoming IPO.
The funds will be strategically deployed to deepen distribution, invest in flagship brands such as Friends adult diapers and Teddyy baby diapers, and enhance consumer outreach across urban and rural markets. The company also aims to leverage this capital to strengthen its leadership team and accelerate brand visibility, building on earlier investments from Quadria Capital and Sixth Sense Ventures.
Kamal Johari, Managing Director and Promoter at Nobel Hygiene, said, "This investment by Neo Group is not just a capital infusion; it's a reinforcement of our commitment to lead and grow the adult diaper category in India. With this support, we are ready to amplify our consumer outreach, reinforce our distribution channels, and further solidify the leadership of our core brands."
Founded in 2000 by Kamal Kumar Johari, Nobel Hygiene is a manufacturer of disposable hygiene products, operating out of Mumbai. Its product portfolio includes adult diapers, baby diapers, and sanitary pads under well-known brands like Friends, Teddyy, and RIO Pads. The company has two advanced manufacturing units in Nasik and Baroda, a PAN-India network of over 1,000 dealers and distributors, and exports to more than 20 countries.
Nobel Hygiene has been a category pioneer, credited with breaking social taboos around incontinence and driving awareness around dignity and hygiene for all age groups. Its flagship brand, Friends, holds a market leadership position in the adult diaper segment.
With this investment, Neo becomes the third institutional investor in Nobel Hygiene, joining Quadria and Sixth Sense. The deal also marks the return of Nitin Agarwal, Neo's Private Equity Head and a former board member of Nobel Hygiene, to the company's cap-table.
Hemant Daga, CEO of Neo Asset Management, added, "We are delighted to partner with Nobel Hygiene — a market leader in the adult diaper segment and a prominent homegrown brand in India's rapidly expanding personal hygiene sector."

Here's why the Scottish Mortgage share price is back at 1,000p

The Scottish Mortgage Investment Trust (LSE: SMT) share price has risen to £10 again in recent days. This means it's up nearly 50% over the past two years, and 23% since early April. Here, I want to look at what might have fuelled the recent turnaround, and whether it could continue. Scottish Mortgage's focus on disruptive companies more often than not leads it to the tech-packed US stock market, particularly the Nasdaq. Around 61% of the FTSE 100 investment trust's portfolio is in US stocks. Therefore, a recovery in share prices across the pond has underpinned Scottish Mortgage's short-term performance. The Nasdaq is now 28% higher than its April trough. That said, there have also been some notable jumps in a few key holdings. Latin American e-commerce giant MercadoLibre hit an all-time high in early June, as did audio streaming platform Spotify. Indeed, Spotify stock is now up 805% since the start of 2023! While the trust has been selling some Nvidia shares recently, it's still a significant holding (around 2.3% of the portfolio). And the AI chip king has also been on a hot streak, surging 51% since the April sell-off. It should also be noted that the FTSE 100 itself is now just a whisker away from a 52-week high — and therefore a new record. One key theme that Scottish Mortgage has invested in heavily is the digitalisation of global finance. It has called this one of 'the world's most transformative trends'. Key holdings here include MercadoLibre and Nu Holdings (Nubank) in Latin America, Affirm and Stripe (unlisted) in the US, and Sea Limited and Ant Group (unlisted) in Asia. Sea is up 61% this year, while Affirm has rebounded 62% since early April. Somewhat rarely for the trust, it does have a couple of UK-based fintechs in the portfolio. These are money transfer app Wise and neobank Revolut, which is private. The Wise share price jumped close to a record high this week after the firm posted strong annual results. Wise also said it intends to transfer its primary listing to the US, which will allow it to work towards inclusion in major US indexes. Whether the trust keeps rising in the near term is largely dependant on what the US market does. We know Trump's tariffs are hurting the global economy, so this is a risk to American corporate earnings and the value of Scottish Mortgage's portfolio. Investors in the trust need to be prepared to ride out sometimes stomach-churning periods of volatility. On the flip side, the global IPO market is warming back up again (though not in London, unfortunately). Revolut is reportedly preparing for a public listing that could value the company at over $45bn, while Ant Group might list in Hong Kong later this year. These massive IPOs could help boost Scottish Mortgage's net asset value (NAV), assuming they're well-received by investors. It would also help relieve worries about the true value of its unlisted assets. Either way though, I still think Scottish Mortgage shares are worth considering. They're currently trading at an 10.8% discount to NAV, which I think is attractive given the long-term growth potential of the portfolio. From Charging Phones to Powering Homes: How Ambrane Became a INR 260 Cr Bootstrapped Electronics Brand

"One day, I was in the metro carrying a power bank. A man saw it and asked, 'What are you doing with this gadget?' I said, 'I'm charging my phone.' He asked, 'Will it charge mine too?' That's when it hit me that we were solving a real problem people hadn't even named yet," says Ashok Rajpal, Founder and Director, Ambrane Opinions expressed by Entrepreneur contributors are their own. You're reading Entrepreneur India, an international franchise of Entrepreneur Media. In 2012, when mobile phones were becoming smarter and India was just stepping into its digital journey, a young brand called Ambrane quietly took root. Its mission was simple—make smart technology accessible and affordable for every Indian household. "We saw a big shift happening," recalls Ashutosh Rajpal, Founder and Director, Ambrane. "Technology was moving fast from IT to mobility, and smartphone penetration was rising. That's when we realised the need for compact and convenient gadgets like power banks, tablets, and routers." That vision was soon translated into action. Long before the 'Make in India' initiative was officially launched in 2014, Ambrane had already set up its own manufacturing unit. "We wanted to try innovations in-house not just to build better products, but also to create more jobs and income for our country," Rajpal shares. Charging Ahead in a New Market Launching a new tech product in India wasn't easy. In 2012, the concept of a power bank was still foreign to most people. "One day, I was in the metro carrying a power bank. A man saw it and asked, 'What are you doing with this gadget?' I said, 'I'm charging my phone.' He replied, 'Will it charge mine too?' That's when it hit me that we were solving a real problem people hadn't even named yet." Rajpal remembers the biggest initial challenge for his company was distribution. "At that time, most businesses relied on traditional distribution channels, which were hard for a new brand like ours. But e-commerce gave us a lifeline, it allowed us to reach consumers directly and educate them about our products." Today, Ambrane is one of India's top-selling electronics brands, especially in the charging and mobility segment. With products across power banks, smart plugs, grooming tools, audio devices, and smart home appliances, the brand has grown far beyond its early offerings. "We're present almost everywhere now, from D2C on our website, Amazon, Flipkart, Blinkit, and also in offline distribution and B2B channels," says Rajpal. "More than 60 per cent of our business comes from e-commerce and quick-commerce platforms." The focus of the brand is clear: reach more Indian households, especially in smaller cities. "We've built a strong base in major cities, but now we're expanding rapidly into tier 2, 3, and 4 markets. Our goal is to reach deep into India." Homes, AI & Global Play Ambrane isn't just sticking to its roots but evolving. The brand has already entered the smart home category with products like air purifiers and vacuum cleaners. "Yes, we've started launching smart home appliances, and the response has been great. We're planning to go big in that space," Rajpal confirms. While commenting on the AI integration, Rajpal says, "Right now, our focus is on appliances, but we know that technology is evolving fast. We've already worked on smart plugs years ago, and we're planning more AI-enabled products soon." With a strong domestic base and an annual turnover of INR 260 crore, Ambrane is now eyeing international markets. "Last year, we started working with some global partners. This year, we're focusing on Eastern markets and participating in events like GITEX in Dubai. Next year, we're heading to CES," says Rajpal. Despite this growth, Ambrane has stayed completely bootstrapped, with over 600 employees, including manufacturing staff. "We haven't raised any external funding yet. But now we're open—if the right opportunity comes, we'll consider it to help us grow faster." Lessons for the next-gen entrepreneurs When asked what advice he'd give to young entrepreneurs, Ashutosh keeps it real, "You have to listen, learn, and act. Understand the market deeply and know your consumers. Presentation matters, a good product alone is not enough if people don't know about it. And above all, quality is key." As for the future of D2C and AI, he believes data will lead the way. "In the age of AI, data is everything. If you understand it well, you can solve real problems. Use AI for smarter marketing, better systems, and even product innovation," he concludes. Quick Facts
