A little-known horse who has seen his odds OBLITERATED from 100-1 into 8-1 could be 'one of the biggest Royal Ascot gambles ever', petrified bookies have confirmed.
Trainer Joseph O'Brien, son of iconic handler Aidan, has watched the odds on The Liffey tumble down repeatedly in the build-up to the world's biggest Flat racing festival.

The four-year-old gelding has raced just four times in his life and used to be trained by the Ballydoyle king.
But The Liffey was moved to Joseph's Kilkenny yard in April this year, a month before he made his comeback after 350 days off the track.
Interestingly, John Magnier and Derrick Smith, two-thirds of the all-conquering Coolmore syndicate, kept their share in the horse while Michael Tabor opted out.
Two more owners came in ahead of his encouraging fourth-placed finish at odds of 16-1 in a Listed contest over seven furlongs at Naas.
While he might not have looked a world-beater on the occasion, his subsequent mark of 98 has led many to believe the handicapper has seriously underestimated him.
And a gamble from odds of 100-1 last month into just 8-1 now suggests the son of No Nay Never is capable of much more.
While it doesn't take stacks of cash to move a market in the Royal Hunt Cup handicap this far out, bookies have certainly taken notice of the monster plunge.
Paddy Power's Paul Binfield said: "We first put The Liffey into the race at 100-1 and we took plenty of bets at fancy prices.
"Those wagers meant he was already a decent loser for a handicap so far from post-time, but then when we were around the 20-1 mark momentum really took off and he's now incredulously into just 8-1.
"He's already a bad ante-post result for us.
"It's a little too early to say it's turning into one of the biggest ever Royal extravaganza gambles we've ever encountered.
"Mainly because the money we've seen is unlikely to be of the scale of liabilities we'll be holding on the actual day.
"But should the momentum continue in the way that it has, and punters get stuck into the No Nay Never gelding on that Wednesday, it's certainly not inconceivable that it might be up there."

Wathnan snap up James McDonald for Royal Ascot rides
The Emir of Qatar's racing operation enjoyed a four-timer at the Royal meeting 12 months ago and with a swelling team once again this year and multiple entries in many races, the New Zealand-born pilot will prove a more than able deputy to James Doyle for the leading owners. Wathnan's racing adviser Richard Brown said: 'We're going to have a good-sized team with multiple entries in certain races. 'William Buick helps us when he can but obviously his availability is limited and when talking to the team, we decided we needed to have somebody in position who might be able to help us. 'A lot of the top guys here have got their own commitments and we heard with interest that James McDonald is coming over to ride Carl Spackler, so we reached out to him and he's going to be here Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday before flying home for a wedding at the weekend.' A good friend of Wathnan number one Doyle, 'J-Mac' has enjoyed notable recent success on the world stage aboard Hong Kong star Romantic Warrior, while he has a stellar record at Royal Ascot enjoying a treble in 2022 which included Group One glory aboard Australian ace Nature Strip. 'I would imagine James will ride five or six for us over the first three days,' continued Brown. 'He has a great record at Ascot and he's great mates with James Doyle, which is an important dynamic to it. They will be able to run through the horses together that James Doyle knows so well and 'Doyler' has got a few hard decisions to make. 'But James is such a team player and is very pro the idea and I'm sure he'll be helping the other James with the form of the races and the horses he'll be on. 'We didn't want to leave anything to chance and it's very hard to get the top guys booked with them having their own commitments, so to have James McDonald riding for us where we have multiple entries and William Buick can't (ride) makes an awful lot of sense.'

It's a job the Scot unsurprisingly takes to with gusto, dispensing home truths to all and sundry. And it all culminates in a story he tells about his first date with his future wife Kim. Asked what a "perfect first date" would look like, Murray first suggested a bike ride then added: "First dates can be tricky. "I had a terrible one with my wife. We went to an okay restaurant but she wasn't speaking to me. "I had to take a break to go to the toile to compose myself." The Scot did something similar prior to the final set of his first Grand Slam win at the US Open in 2012, and some of the other tricks of his trade are here. Other highlights from the video include his top tip to young couples moving in together. "I'm saying this from the man's perspective, maybe you can tell him this, I've found that helping out with little things, like putting the dishwasher on, putting the dishes away, goes a very long way." Andy Murray admits embarrassment at being beaten by 5-year-old son in different sport Asked his advice to someone with ten days' annual leave left to take, he said: "I would travel somewhere, Get out of the UK, go and explore somewhere different. That is what I would do." Another member of the public asked Andy for his advice to solve her chronic issue with anxiety before going into meetings. The Scot said: "Think about all the things that are making you nervous, write them down, and then play out those different scenarios. "I used to do that before matches, I would write down the things that were worrying me then if those situations came up I would know how to deal with them because I've prepared to deal with them already." As for his advice to the young man who just wants to "Get ripped", Murray replied: " "Just go in there and lift huge." 4 It's got a ring to it...
