Judge unseals portion of search warrant in Jodi Huisentruit case
An Iowa judge has released a portion of a 2017 search warrant which showed GPS tracking data of a car owned by a person of interest in the Jodi Huisentruit case.
Huisentruit was working as a news anchor in Mason City, Iowa when she disappeared on June 27, 1995. Outside her apartment building, police found signs of a struggle, and investigators believe someone attacked her as she headed to her car for the early news shift. Nearly 30 years later, her disappearance has yet to be solved.
The partially unsealed warrant applied to a GPS device which was placed in a 1999 Honda Civic and 2013 GMC Pickup Truck, which was owned by Huisentruit's friend, who was a person of interest in her case. The person of interest was with Huisentruit the night before she disappeared.

He died in December of last year. Attorneys argued for the warrant to be unsealed to provide closure to the family.
The data tracks a vehicle during a four-day span as it traveled from Baxter, Iowa through Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico before it came to a stop in Phoenix. According to a "48 Hours" report, the man was living in Phoenix in 2017.
Other details of the warrant remain sealed as the investigation continues, according to KIMT.
For more than a decade, journalists and retired law enforcement involved with the group Find Jodi, have asked anyone with information to come forward. After the "48 Hours" report aired in 2019, tips poured into the Mason City Police Department.

Denver police say driver flees scene of crash with officer inside the vehicle
The Denver Police Department said one of its officers had a close call Sunday after a suspect crashed a vehicle, then tried to flee the scene with the officer inside. Police said the crash occurred around 3:46 p.m. near the intersection of Colfax Avenue and Osage Street. When officers arrived, they found an unresponsive person inside a white GMC Yukon. Authorities said an officer entered the vehicle to turn it off and render aid to the driver, when the driver suddenly regained consciousness and tried to flee the scene with the officer still inside. CBS A few blocks away, police used a precision immobilization technique and forced the Yukon into a light pole, bringing it to a stop. Officers then took the suspect into custody. No one was injured in the crash, said police, and the case remains under investigation.

Pete Hegseth Threatens to Send Marines to LA ICE Protests
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has threatened to send the Marines to quell ongoing protests against Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids in Los Angeles. Hegseth posted on X on that in addition to 'mobilizing the National Guard IMMEDIATELY to support federal law enforcement' in California's largest city, 'active duty Marines at Camp Pendleton will also be mobilized' if the violence continues. 'They are on high alert,' he added. The Daily Beast has reached out to the Pentagon for further comment on Hegseth's proposal. The protests first erupted on Friday afternoon following a series of raids by ICE officials across the city, with police arresting dozens of demonstrators outside the downtown federal building where immigrants were being detained. The White House has already dispatched an estimated 2,000 National Guardsmen to address the unrest, which continued through Saturday night. Reuters reported that a number of protesters on Friday threw what appeared to be blocks of broken concrete at police, which were met with flash bangs, tear gas, and pepper spray. Up to 400 people also gathered in the city of Paramount, Los Angeles County, on Saturday afternoon. Some threw rocks and other objects at law enforcement, with police firing 'non-lethal munitions' in an effort to disperse the crowds, CBS reported. One person was taken to a hospital not long after noon, with two others arrested for injuring peace officers, one of whom is accused of throwing a Molotov cocktail that struck three deputies. At least one vehicle is also reported to have been torched in the neighbouring city of Compton. By evening, the crowds had again gathered outside the federal building in downtown Los Angeles, where they were again met with flash-bangs and tear gas, per CBS. 'The violent mob assaults on ICE and Federal Law Enforcement are designed to prevent the removal of Criminal Illegal Aliens from our soil; a dangerous invasion facilitated by criminal cartels (aka Foreign Terrorist Organizations) and a huge NATIONAL SECURITY RISK,' Hegseth wrote. He added that 'it's COMMON SENSE' that 'violence & destruction against federal agencies & federal facilities will NOT be tolerated.'
