"James Bond" Fans Spot Hint Of The Next 007

Buzz Feed25-05-2025

Fans of James Bond reckon there's been a key update in the race to cast the next 007.
And it's all to do with watches.
Over a year ago, it was widely reported in the tabloid press that Aaron Taylor-Johnson had been offered the part of Bond, though it was later claimed this deal was less certain than it first appeared.
Since then, Aaron has continued to be linked with the role, but has remained consistently tight-lipped, sidestepping questions about it in numerous interviews.
Earlier this week, it was revealed that the former Marvel star had become a global ambassador for the watch brand Omega.
While this isn't the sort of news that would make international headlines (no offence, Omega, we're sure you do a lovely watch), this was notable as the Swiss brand has been associated with the James Bond franchise since Pierce Brosnan began wearing its timepieces in GoldenEye.
Every Bond film since has featured an Omega watch – including all five of Daniel Craig 's – and this fact was not lost on Bond devotees when the news began circulating on social media…
Looking more and more like we might have our next Bond… https://t.co/0glAJJ8F0G

Earlier this year, it was revealed there'd been a big behind-the-scenes shake-up at the James Bond franchise, with producers Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli stepping down from their creative duties after 30 years.
Amazon MGM Studios have now taken over creative control of the blockbuster movie series, the last offering of which, No Time To Die, hit cinemas in 2021 after a series of delays.
While Aaron still remains a firm favourite to succeed Daniel Craig as 007, there have been a host of other names who've been reported to be in the frame for some time.

Gwyneth Paltrow Gets Real About Disliking Being On Social Media As A Famous Person: 'I'm Like An Old Lady'

When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. If nothing else, you can, seemingly always, say that actress Gwyneth Paltrow is honest. The proud vagina candle maven has been known to open up about everything from hiding in her parents house after winning her Oscar at 26, to living with ex Chris Martin after they split and how hard it is to be an empty-nester. Now the Marvel star is opening up about being 'an old lady' when it comes to social media. While it's not impossible to be famous today and stay off social media (or at least not put your whole life online), it's not something that's done on a regular basis. In fact, most people, whether they're celebrities or not, use social media regularly, but the pressure to show every aspect of one's life must certainly be greater the more well known a person is. During an episode of The Goop Podcast where Gwyneth Paltrow spoke with actress Kerry Washington, the welcoming lifestyle company founder spoke about her feelings on social media, and admitted that some of her reticence likely has to do with age. As she said: There's a part of it I think that just is like a pre-Internet kid. I always wrestle a little bit with, 'Why are we having to put everything on social media? We just met with our video team. I'm always like, 'Chase, I don't want to be on Instagram!' You know? OMG. Gwynnie! I don't want to be on Instagram, either! But I am, because it's just what people do now. Of course, no one is expecting me to share literally everything I do during the day, so I'm totally free to sit back, follow a bunch of other folks and enjoy the view. When fans see Paltrow on social media, well, they want her to share things. Several stars have spoken about the immense pressure that can come from being online and opening your life up to fans. It has, in fact, caused a number of them to at least take breaks from it. Recently, A Complete Unknown star and Oscar nominee Monica Barbaro admitted that she's deleted her social media several times, and had to do it while filming that movie and again as positive reactions came in. Other famous folk have talked about doing the same social media 'detox' for a while, with Only Murders in the Building lead Selena Gomez calling the process 'the most rewarding gift.' This is likely because, as Home Town host Erin Napier once noted, regardless of what you post, the comments can be 'really rude.' While that can certainly harm one's mental health, however, the potential positives tend to outweigh some of the negatives for Paltrow, and that's exactly why she continues to use it. As she added: And yet, especially around the topic of mental health, or anything really that's heavily stigmatized, social media is this way to destigmatize. ... [like] wait, this is how you change culture and the tools right now are social media. So even though I'm like an old lady trying to get with the times of how this works... [I try to] get comfortable with it. And, lucky for us, she has gotten 'comfortable' with it and continues to share with fans on a regular basis.

Tim Miller Dishes On the ‘X-Men' Horror Movie He Almost Made

Slowly, but surely, Marvel's making moves to bring the X-Men to the big screen again in the next few years. As everyone waits to find out what all that entails (and who it'll involve), filmmaker Tim Miller looked back on the one he nearly did once upon a time. During a recent interview with the Hollywood Reporter, the Deadpool director talked about Marvel's mutant corner as the company's 'secret weapon. […] The X-Men are my favorite characters, and I wrote to Kevin Feige like, 'If there was anything you'd ever let me do in the Marvel universe, the X-Men would be it.'' In fact, he had an X-film in development at one point, which would've been based on Chris Claremont and John Byrne's Uncanny X-Men #143. In that, the team departs the mansion for the holidays, leaving Kitty Pryde on her own. While left to her own devices, an N'Garai—demons the team previously fought over the years—invades the mansion, and she's got to hold her own against it. Miller described the film as 'Home Alone meets Alien,' and it seems this was the Kitty solo movie Fox announced back in 2018 that he would've directed from a script by comics scribe Brian Michael Bendis. (At the time, Kitty was part of the Guardians of the Galaxy as Star-Lord during Bendis and Valerio Schiti's 2015-2017 run). Unfortunately, this was in development at Fox around the time of its merger with Disney, so it was one of many ideas—along with publicized solo films for Gambit and Multiple Man, plus a hopeful Fantastic Four crossover—which never came to cinematic fruition. X-Men movies were typically action affairs, but Fox let the characters dip into horror with New Mutants. It was the last franchise movie of the Fox era, but once they've properly settled into the MCU, maybe they can be taken for a scary spin again. Either way, Miller seems to be happy with how everything's settled: he called himself 'the luckiest nerd on the planet' for bringing a proper Deadpool to the silver screen, and feels things have gone up from there. 'I didn't expect to have my own studio, or to do Terminator: Dark Fate,' he told THR. 'Being able to do Love Death + Robots is probably my achievement I'm most of. I'm old, but I'm not done yet.'
