Although the Golden State Warriors won't have a selection in the first round of June's NBA draft, Mike Dunleavy Jr. and Steve Kerr are slated to be on the clock in the second round of the 2025 edition of the draft. Prior to the draft, the Warriors are reportedly hosting a group of prospects for pre-draft workouts.
The group headlined by multiple college stars, including Houston's Milos Uzan, St. John's RJ Luis and Oregon big man Nathan Bittle. UCLA's Kobe Johnson, Wisconsin's Steven Crowl and Missouri's Tamar Bates round out the group of six prospects, according to Danny Emerman of the SF Standard.
After transferring from Oklahoma, Uzan helped lead the Cougars to the national championship game against the Florida Gators in the NCAA Tournament. Uzan earned All-Big 12 second-team honors, averaging 11.4 points on 45.3% shooting from the field with 4.3 assists and 3.1 rebounds per game for the Cougars.
Bittle, a former McDonald's All-American out of high school, earned third-team All-Big Ten honors and was named to the Big Ten All-Defensive team during his final season in Eugene. The 7-footer averaged 14.2 points on 51.1% shooting from the field with 7.6 rebounds and 1.9 assists per contest.
Johnson spent three seasons at USC before transferring across town to UCLA for his final season in Hollywood. During his four seasons at the college level, Johnson proved to be a fierce defender, being named to the Pac-12 All-Defensive team twice and the Big Ten All-Defensive team once.
Luis was a consensus All-American last season and was named the 2024-25 Big East Player of the Year. Luis averaged 18.2 points on 43.9% shooting from the field and 33.6% from beyond the arc. Luis added 7.2 rebounds and two assists per contest for St. John's.

Johnson moved the slugger to sixth in the lineup after he occupied the two-hole much of the year. With a trip to Omaha on the line, Jones needs to find his way out of his first large slump of the season. West Virginia's pitching staff, also seemingly hitting a low, gave up a combined 14 runs over the last two games of the Clemson Regional. Jake Brown Often the middle man of the lineup, Brown went quietly through the regional. He batted .250 with just one extra base hit, which followed a hitless SEC Tournament. Brown's slump follows a six-game hit streak to end the regular season, and he experienced some streakiness throughout the conference slate. He must channel the confidence he felt during the South Carolina and Arkansas series in mid-May. Zac Cowan Cowan can go nowhere but up after his postseason showing so far. Over his last 6.2 innings, his ERA is 14.85. In a start Monday against Little Rock, he exited in the second inning after allowing four earned runs on three hits and two walks. For most of the regular season, Cowan was the SEC's best reliever. He may have been out of his element on Monday and experiencing command issues as of late in his first postseason with LSU. The talent is still there and must come through if the Tigers need to keep a game within reach during the super regional.

Nets bring in Auburn's Johni Broome for 2025 NBA Draft workout The Brooklyn Nets still have a few weeks to go before they have to make some important decisions in the 2025 NBA Draft that begins on June 25. Brooklyn will be the busiest team at the Draft given that they have five picks in total to use and while they may not be using all of their picks in the event, they are still doing their due diligence just to be on the safe side. One of the ways that the Nets have been doing their homework is by bringing in players for predraft workouts since Brooklyn has all five of their picks in the top-36 of the Draft. The Nets have brought in a significant amount of players in for workouts already, but one of the players they brought in was Auburn center Johni Broome, who seemingly confirmed as such through his Instagram. On Wednesday, Broome posted a photo of a Nets workout shirt with the number four on his story, indicating that he was either getting ready for the workout or had just finished it. It's not specified in the photo what the number four is for, but it's most likely a reference to his jersey number as he wore the number four during his college career at Morehead State and Auburn. Broome, 22, is coming off a senior season at Auburn in which he averaged 18.6 points, 10.8 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 2.1 blocks per game while shooting 51.0% from the field and 27.8% from three-point land. Broome was not only the SEC Player of the Year for the 2024-25 season, but he was also a consensus All-American, showing how highly-regarded he was. Broome is expected to be taken in the second round of the upcoming Draft and might be a target for Brooklyn. "Projecting Broome to the next level, teams should be able to bank on him for low-post offense, second-chance points, passing and shot-blocking. His usage, value and role ultimately changes if he becomes a more reliable spot-up or pick-and-pop three-point shooter," Bleacher Report NBA Draft expert Jonathan Wasserman during his write up on the 6-foot-9, 249-pound center.

Alabama basketball set to face former player, assistant in 2025-26 nonconference schedule Alabama basketball added another opponent to its 2025-26 nonconference slate this week. The Crimson Tide will face the Kennesaw State Owls from Conference USA on Sunday, Dec. 21. The game will be played at a neutral site, Propst Arena in Huntsville. The matchup against the Owls will come against a head coach that Alabama fans know well: former Crimson Tide guard and assistant coach Antoine Pettway. A starter on Alabama's 2004 team that went on a deep NCAA Tournament run to reach the program's first Elite Eight, Pettway will be in his third season as Owls head coach. He previously served as an assistant at Alabama from 2013-23 under Anthony Grant, Avery Johnson and Nate Oats. Pettway guided Kennesaw State to a 19-14 overall record and a 10-8 mark in Conference USA play last season. He had a four-year playing career at Alabama from 2000-01 to 2003-04 under coach Mark Gottfried, averaging 9.1 points per game to go with 3.7 rebounds with 3.5 assists while starting all 33 games his senior season. Oats has put together another loaded nonconference schedule with marquee matchups for 2025-26. The Crimson Tide will face Illinois (in Chicago), Purdue (at Coleman Coliseum), St. John's (Madison Square Garden) and Arizona (in Birmingham), among others. Alabama finished 28-9 last season and advanced to the Elite Eight before falling to Duke in the East Region final in Newark.
