NYPD Officer Charged with Sexting Undercover Officer Posing as 14-Year-Old

An NYPD officer tasked with community youth outreach is facing charges in two boroughs for allegedly sexting an undercover cop posing as a 14-year-old girl, according to prosecutors.
As reported by the New York Post, Travis N. DeSouza, 35, appeared in a Queens County court on Thursday, April 24, six months after appearing in a Brooklyn court, on child endangerment-related charges after he sent sexually explicit messages to an undercover officer posing as a 14-year-old girl.
Authorities Sent an Undercover Officer Posing as 14-Year-Old to Approach DeSouza After Becoming Concerned About His Behavior
DeSouza, who was working with the Police Explorers program for young people between 14 and 20 interested in law enforcement, was busted in October last year as part of a sting operation.
Concerned about his behavior, authorities sent a young-looking undercover officer to approach him in person. She identified herself as a 14-year-old girl and expressed interest in the program, per the New York Daily News.
DeSouza Sent the Officer Creepy Texts, Photo of His Aroused Genitals
She gave him her contact info, and a few days later, he texted her descriptions of sexual acts, according to the complaint. "Of course, stop trying to bag me already," the creepy cop wrote in one of the messages to the undercover officer, according to the complaint. He continued the lurid overtures and innuendos via texts and social media — while explicitly acknowledging that she was a minor, officials claim.
"And I don't know even why you got me thinking things I shouldn't because of how far we are of age LOL I should be telling you to stop... but your maturity and the way you act is different," DeSouza allegedly messaged the undercover agent on Snapchat.
He also sent her a photo of what appeared to be an aroused penis covered in clothing, the complaint says. "What's under those shorts?" the undercover agent wrote over Snapchat, according to the complaint. "Something big, maybe more than you can handle," DeSouza allegedly wrote back.
DeSouza Suspended Without Pay, Released on Bail
DeSouza was working within the confines of the 75th Precinct in Brooklyn while allegedly sending some of the shocking sexts and sent others from a NYPD building in Queens — which is why he's facing charges in both boroughs.
Officer DeSouza has been suspended without pay from the NYPD, the department said Thursday. He has currently been released on bail.
He was charged in Queens court with attempted dissemination of indecent material to minors in the first degree, official misconduct, obscenity in the third degree, and attempted endangering the welfare of a child, according to the criminal complaint.
In Brooklyn, he was hit with charges of attempted disseminating indecent materials to minors in the first degree, attempted endangering the welfare of a child, and obscenity in the third degree, records show.

UK teens sentenced for killing 80-year-old grandfather

Mr Bhim Kohli was walking his dog in a park when he was attacked by a 15-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl. PHOTO: X/@LEICSPOLICE LONDON - A UK judge on June 5 sentenced a 15-year-old boy to seven years' detention for the 'wicked' killing of an octogenarian grandfather, but a girl who filmed the attack on her phone was spared custody. The killing of Bhim Kohli, 80, as he walked his dog in a park on the outskirts of Leicester in central England in September 2024 is one of several cases of youth violence that has shocked the UK in past months. The boy, who was 14 and wearing a balaclava at the time of the killing punched, kicked and racially abused Mr Kohli during the attack. He suffered a broken neck and rib fractures and died in hospital the following day after being found lying on the ground by his children. The girl, then aged 12, encouraged the assault and laughed as she filmed it on a phone. She later stored a series of clips of the violence in a password protected folder on Snapchat. Passing sentence, judge Mark Turner told the boy: 'What you did was wicked. You made a cowardly and violent attack on an elderly man.' He sentenced the girl, now aged 13, to a three-year youth rehabilitation order and an evening curfew. Mr Kohli's family told the court in a victim impact statement they were haunted by how his attackers left him 'on his own, helpless and in pain' just a short distance from his home. 'Losing dad in these cruel, violent and deeply shocking circumstances feels like our hearts have been pulled apart,' his daughter, Ms Susan Kohli, said. The teenagers, who cannot be named because of their ages, were convicted of manslaughter in April following a six-week trial. The boy had also been charged with murder but was found not guilty on that count. Speaking outside Leicester Crown Court after the sentencing, Ms Susan Kohli added that she was 'angry and disappointed' by the leniency of the sentences. 'I believe on that day the two teenagers made a choice. The teenage boy chose to attack my dad and the girl chose to film him being attacked. They knew what they were doing,' she told reporters. 'I feel angry and disappointed that the sentence they have both received today does not, I believe, reflect the severity of the crime they committed,' she said. Florida Teacher Accused Of Sending Her Nude Photo, Pursuing Romantic Relationship with Student

A Manatee, Florida, teacher has been arrested after she allegedly sent a nude photo and engaged in sexual activity with a middle school student. Oliver Fell, 28, is now facing charges of lewd conduct with a student by an authority figure and transmission of harmful material to a minor, according to a news release from the Manatee County Sheriff's Office. That lewd conduct is further defined as soliciting or engaging in a romantic relationship with a student. Fell Sent the Student an 'Explicit Photo of a Breast' Authorities said that they first learned of Fell's alleged offenses on March 3, when a middle school student told a school resource deputy from the MCSO that Fell had allegedly been communicating with him on social media for over three months. That student also alleged that Fell sent him an "explicit photo" on Snapchat in early January, according to the release. The allegations were reported to the school district and the MCSO Crimes Against Children Unit, sparking an investigation into the student's claims. During the investigation, detectives were able to confirm the student's allegations, according to the release, and after obtaining a search warrant for his phone, they allegedly found evidence that the communications between Fell and the student led to lewd conduct. Those detectives also said that an "explicit photo of a nude breast" found on the boy's phone "belonged to the teacher," according to the release. The release also said that additional information obtained in early May helped strengthen the case, though no further details were provided by the MCSO. On June 2, an arrest warrant was issued and Fell turned herself in later that day. She remains in custody at the Manatee County Jail and is being held on a $2,500 bond. School Principal Sent a Letter to Parents, Said Fell was 'Reassigned to a Position Away from School' The principal at Carlos E. Haile Middle School, Irene Nikitopoulos, spoke out about the charges in a letter addressed to parents on Monday. She wrote that it "took several weeks of investigation to confirm the allegations of the illegal communications" and said that "once law enforcement had sufficient confirmation, our school and district were informed and Ms. Fell was immediately reassigned to a position away from our school where she had no contact with students." She also said the school and the district would fully cooperate with the investigation, which is ongoing.

Who Is Sigfredo Alvarez Ceja? Neighbor Who Shoot Dead 'King of the Hill' Voice Actor Jonathan Joss After Heated Argument Arrested

The man who allegedly shot and killed "King of the Hill" voice actor Jonathan Joss has been arrested, according to a report. The suspect, Sigfredo Alvarez Ceja, was arrested in Texas on Sunday, June 1, at 7:05 p.m, according to online records, the New York Post reported. He faces a charge of first-degree felony murder, with his bond set at $200,000. Joss, best known for voicing a character on the popular animated series "King of the Hill", was reportedly shot dead by a neighbor in Texas. Joss, who voiced "John Redcorn" on the animated series, got into a heated argument with Ceja at his San Antonio home on Sunday night. Argument Leading to Death During the altercation, Ceja drew a gun and shot Joss multiple times. Ceja fled the scene by car but was arrested by authorities just one block away. As authorities continue to investigate the motive behind the deadly shooting, neighbors told TMZ that Joss and Ceja had a long-standing dispute and were reportedly involved in past verbal and physical altercations. According to Joss' neighbors, his house was destroyed in a fire back in February, which reportedly started when he tried to heat the home using a BBQ pit after his electricity was cut off. They said that on Sunday, Joss returned to the property to pick up a check from a victim's fire relief fund and found the remains of one of his cherished dogs that had died in the blaze, the New York Post reported. The sight of the dog's remains sent Joss into a fury, and he began shouting at anyone nearby, including Alvarez Ceja, who lived just two houses away, according to eyewitnesses, the publication reported. Neighbors said that such outbursts from Joss were common. They claimed that police had been called on him multiple times before his home caught fire earlier this year. They also alleged that Joss often engaged in strange behavior, such as banging pots and pans on his rooftop in the middle of the night. More Mystery into the Death Before the fire, Joss' home had reportedly been deemed unsafe and uninhabitable— a situation neighbors say led to his electricity being disconnected. According to the Post, a GoFundMe campaign was launched for Joss after the incident, successfully raising $10,721 to assist him. Details on the fundraising page revealed that the house was originally built in 1957 by Joss' father as a gift for his mother, and sadly, three of his dogs lost their lives in the fire. Joss, a graduate of Our Lady of the Lake University, is survived by his husband, Tristan Kern de Gonzales, whom he married on Valentine's Day. His final credited role on IMDb was in 2023, lending his voice to characters in CD Projekt RED's video game "Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty", where he starred alongside Keanu Reeves and Idris Elba. Joss also voiced the character Healing in the animated drama "Unplugged" by Paul McComas and Holly Trasti, appearing with the late Louis Gossett Jr., the late Ed Asner, Christina Ricci, and Jeri Ryan.
