White House says Trump will soon announce new nominee for NASA head
WASHINGTON, May 31 (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump will soon announce a new candidate to serve as administrator of NASA, the White House said on Saturday, but did not explain why initial nominee Jared Isaacman was no longer in the running.
Semafor, citing two people familiar with the matter, had earlier said the White House would pull Isaacman's candidacy.
"It is essential that the next leader of NASA is in complete alignment with President Trump's America First agenda and a replacement will be announced directly by President Trump soon," said White House spokeswoman Liz Huston.

Washington DC airport says flights to be suspended during Trump's Army parade
WASHINGTON, June 5 (Reuters) - Washington's Reagan National Airport announced on Thursday that the Federal Aviation Administration likely would suspend flights during U.S. President Donald Trump's June 14 Army anniversary parade. "To accommodate aircraft flyovers along the parade route, followed by a fireworks display, the Federal Aviation Administration is expected to suspend airline operations at DCA – affecting scheduled flights," a notice on the airport website said. The airport, located less than two miles from the National Mall, could shut down for up to four hours, the Washington Post reported. The long-planned celebration for the U.S. Army's 250th anniversary will coincide with the president's 79th birthday. Sixty-seven people were killed in January when a helicopter and an American Airlines (AAL.O), opens new tab regional jet collided, crashing into the Potomac River. It was the deadliest U.S. air disaster in more than 20 years.
