Tourists warned of disturbing 'Porta-Potty' party trend in glamorous destination
Tourists warned of disturbing 'Porta-Potty' party trend in glamorous destination Women are being warned of accepting 'gifts' from strangers and being lured into a world of sexual degradation and physical harm which could even seen them prosecuted Dubai (Image: Getty ) Dubai, known for its towering skyscrapers and luxury lifestyle, is facing scrutiny over the disturbing trend of so-called "Porta-Potty" parties. These events, reportedly hosted by affluent individuals, lure young models and influencers with promises of cash, designer presents, and stays in hotels. Yet, beneath the glamour lies a dark reality of sexual degradation, physical harm, and significant legal jeopardy. Radha Stirling, CEO of Detained in Dubai, has issued a stark warning about the potential legal consequences for women attending these gatherings. Despite recent legal changes, participants could still be prosecuted for adultery or indecency, particularly if married men are involved. "Sex outside marriage has been legalised in Dubai, but organisers have exploited this. Women think they're attending a private party - instead, they're thrown into horrific, dangerous situations with real legal risk," stated Ms Stirling. For our free daily briefing on the biggest issues facing the nation, sign up to the Wales Matters newsletter here The issue gained renewed attention after an influencer on TikTok recounted receiving lavish gifts from a man she met at the gym, sparking debate over the hidden dangers of such encounters, reports the Mirror. Article continues below Jade, known as @outplayedbyjade online and originally from France, shared her Dubai adventure on social media. She recounted an experience of leaving the gym when staff presented her with a gift from a man she had met on the treadmill. "I didn't think much of it," Jade said in her video, describing how she was handed flowers and chocolates after chatting with the man. Feeling touched, she messaged the number left with the present to express thanks and subsequently received a call from Van Cleef and Arpels, the luxury jewellery brand's boutique. "I'm a very curious girl, so I make my way over to the shop," she said, detailing the moment when a shop assistant revealed a stunning bracelet and necklace sent to her. The jewellery and other tokens amounted to a value of approximately £3,000. While Jade was thrilled with the extravagant presents, her followers cautioned her that this gentleman might be a "professional" and advised her to "be careful" in light of rumours about women being lured to "Porta-Parties" in Dubai. In one alleged incident, Maria Kovalchuk, a 20-year-old Ukrainian adult model, was apparently left for dead after attending such a party. Maria disappeared soon after telling her mother about an overnight invitation from two men purporting to be modelling agents, and failing to catch her scheduled flight to Thailand. Ten days on, Maria was discovered abandoned by the roadside in Dubai on March 19, suffering from a shattered spine, broken limbs, and severe internal injuries. Following multiple surgeries, Maria's family, who are now at her bedside, are seeking explanations for the incident as she continues to recover. Dubai Police confirmed that Maria was under medical care but have stated she "entered a restricted construction site alone and fell from a height", a claim met with scepticism amid unsettling rumours about her disappearance. Russian lawyer Katya Gordon, who is closely monitoring the case, starkly claimed: "Model Maria Kovalchuk was found dying on the side of the road in the UAE after a party. The scandal with the Porta Potty parties has been raging for over a year." Gordon, among others, suggested that Maria might have been coerced into participating in a degrading sexual act, a notorious aspect of the so-called "Porta-Potty" events, which are synonymous with humiliation and mistreatment. These events are said to involve women being compensated handsomely to engage in vile acts that include exposure to bodily fluids, degradation, and suffering. While viral videos have shed some light on this obscure practice, the reality of such abuse remains largely obscured by Dubai's polished image and stringent censorship regulations. Amidst the emergence of "Porta-Potty" narratives, specialists have issued warnings about potential dangers to be mindful of when visiting Dubai. They have warned people to be cautious of unverified agents who promise substantial sums for ambiguous modelling jobs; to refrain from agreeing to solo travel to private gatherings or accepting all-expenses-paid excursions without a proper background check on the organisers; ensuring you keep in regular contact with loved ones, always sharing your whereabouts with them; steering clear of entering private quarters of hotels, villas, or yachts with individuals you do not know well, particularly at late hours, and; be aware of the stringent laws in Dubai: foreign females may face charges like public indecency or adultery, even when actions result from coercion. Article continues below The distraught mother of Maria relayed to Ukrainian reporters: "She has no documents, no phone, nothing. She's had three operations. She can't speak. We were told she went to a party, but the promoter claims he never saw her. We're terrified of what really happened."

Plus, how stretching in front of the TV can help ROYAL MAKEOVER I helped Princess Eugenie with her summer glow up – the salty water trick which ensured she looked so good at Ascot Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) PRINCESS Eugenie was the picture of elegance at Royal Ascot, despite the sweltering heat. The woman behind her glowing and radiant appearance is society nutritionist Gabriela Peacock, who also counts Princess Beatrice, Jodie Kidd and Billie Piper, among her A-list clients. Benett Fans were quick to comment on the royal's impeccable Ascot looks, with one saying: "Princess Eugenie looks so lovely", and another added: "Absolutely beautiful." With summer upon us, many people want to look and feel their best for the beach, weddings or holidays. Gabriela has revealed there are some easy steps everyone from royalty to the public can take to achieve this. Gabriela, 45, who is godmother to Beatrice's three-year-old daughter Sienna, told Fabulous: 'As a nutritionist working with everyone from royalty to red carpet regulars, my philosophy is all about realistic wellness. 'That means supporting your skin, energy, and mood through smart nutrition, simple lifestyle tweaks, and a little science-backed supplementation. 'No crash diets, no overtraining — just small changes that create long-term glow. 'Here's how I help my clients achieve their ultimate summer glow-up — and how you can too…' 1. NUTRITION Gabriela shared an example summer menu which will help you feel your best… Breakfast Glow Bowl: Try Greek yoghurt or kefir with mixed berries (especially blueberries + strawberries), a tablespoon of chia seeds, pumpkin seeds, and a drizzle of manuka honey. Gabriela explained: 'Why? Antioxidants for skin protection, probiotics for gut health, and omega-3s for a dewy, hydrated glow. Princess Beatrice is pregnant with her second child and shares sweet picture with husband Edoardo 'Hydrating foods such as watermelon, cucumbers and coconut water is the way to really help support the skin health to keep it plump and moisturised.' Lunch Salmon & Avocado Salad: Grilled salmon on a bed of spinach, rocket, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, avocado, and a lemon-olive oil dressing. The nutritionist explained: 'This is rich in collagen-boosting protein, healthy fats, and vitamin C for skin elasticity and radiance.' Dinner Grilled Chicken with Quinoa & Roasted Veg: Courgette, peppers, and carrots with garlic and turmeric. She added: 'This has lean protein for hair and nail health, fibre for detoxification, and turmeric to reduce inflammation.' 9 Princess Beatrice also looked radiant at the famous racecourse this month Credit: Getty 9 Gabriela advised adding collagen-boosting salmon into your diet Credit: Shutterstock Editorial 2. FOOD TO AVOID It can be hard to turn down sweet treats in hot weather, but Gabriela said if possible you should avoid excess sugar during the summer. She explained: 'It can contribute to dull skin and breakouts particularly when the weather is hotter like it is now.' Too much caffeine was also a no go as this can 'really dehydrate the skin and as a result reduce that glowy dewy skin.' And finally highly processed foods should be ditched as they are often 'low in nutrients and high in inflammatory oils.' 9 A-list nutritionist Gabriela Peacock, who has worked with Princess Beatrice, shared how you can get a royal glow-up this summer Credit: Getty 3. UNPLUG FROM STRESS Feeling good and looking good go hand in hand and Gabriela said she advises her royal clients to make it a priority to unplug from screens where possible. She explained: 'Get outside every day, even if it's just for 10 minutes, and stick to a regular sleep routine. 'These simple habits help regulate your nervous system, which in turn supports everything from hormone balance to skin clarity. 'Stress can easily show up on your face, whether through dullness, breakouts or sensitivity, so I always encourage my clients to create space in their day for proper rest and mental recovery. 'Whether it's reading, meditating, or just having a quiet cup of tea, finding moments of peace amidst the chaos is essential for glowing-up.' 9 Gabriela has also worked with model Jodie Kidd Credit: Getty 4. ADD SALT TO WATER Most people underestimate how quickly dehydration can affect their energy, skin and focus - but it can be easy to fix. Gabriela shared: 'My trick is to add a pinch of sea salt or electrolytes to my water for better absorption. 'Electrolyte sachets are super convenient to travel with too. I also switch out one coffee for herbal tea or fruit-infused water. Small changes, big difference.' 5. PICK FUN FITNESS You don't need to spend hours in the gym to feel fit and strong, according to the royal nutritionist. She shared: 'I always recommend my clients to opt for a physical activity that they enjoy, so that it doesn't feel like a chore or punishment. 'Whether that's Pilates, yoga, strength training or a brisk walk - keep it short and effective. 'The goal is consistency, not exhaustion. 'It's also so hot in London at the moment so anything quick, easy and light you can do is enough! 'I try to walk after meals, take the stairs when I can, stretch while watching TV, or even use small hand weights when sat in long car journeys.' 6. TAKE SUPPLEMENTS Gabriela advised boosting your health with supplements like RadiantMe - which is a daily sachet formulated to support healthy skin, energy and vitality. She shared: 'It supports healthy skin, hair, and nails, and is such a simple way to get those essential skin-loving vitamins and minerals in one quick daily drink. 'It's my secret weapon for staying consistent when life is full on - plus it tastes amazing too!'

Brit tennis star who is earning pennies at Wimbledon ‘has to find £70,000 of expenses' as he says ‘tennis is expensive'
ACE student Oliver Tarvet is swotting up for the biggest exam of his life - and aiming to bring down Wimbledon champion Carlos Alcaraz. But even if Tarvet topples the king of SW19 tomorrow, he will pocket barely any of the £152,000 on offer. Advertisement 5 Oliver Tarvet booked his place in the second round of Wimbledon Credit: Getty British No33 Tarvet - at 733, the lowest-ranked player in the singles field - earned his shot at glory as he destroyed Swiss Leandro Riedi, barely giving his opponent a sniff of a chance as he cantered to a straight-sets win. Tarvet, still a student amateur at the University of San Diego, had to wait nearly five hours for Alcaraz to finally get past veteran Fabio Fognini to set up the showdown. It gave him plenty of time to fill in the "journal" he carried on to Court 4 to keep his mind focused under the blazing sunshine. And yet 21-year-old Tarvet will not be coining it in at SW19. Advertisement READ MORE ON WIMBLEDON ALCARIZZ Alcaraz claims he'll 'do whatever Raducanu wants me to do' amid romance rumours Anyone reaching the second round is guaranteed £99,000 but his amateur status - plus American college rules - means he will get only a sliver of the prize money on offer. Yet Tarvet, who has never before played in front of more than a few hundred spectators, can look forward to walking out in front of nearly 15,000 fans on Centre Court. The St Albans-born Tarvet admitted: "As a kid, it's what you dream of and work for. But for it to happen so suddenly is really special. For me, though, nothing has really changed. "I'm quietly confident that I can win against anyone and Alcaraz is no exception to that. Advertisement CASINO SPECIAL - BEST CASINO BONUSES FROM £10 DEPOSITS "Obviously, he's done an incredible amount in the tennis world. He's a difficult guy not to respect. "But I've got to just go out there and treat it like another match, play the ball, not the player, even if it is going to be pretty special." British world No719 qualifies for Wimbledon but is BANNED from claiming £66,000 prize money For a student playing his first Grand Slam - having come through three tough rounds of qualifying last week - Tarvet was pretty special as he won 6-4 6-4 6-4 without facing a break point. Advertisement He embraced his team, family and friends in a huge courtside huddle after Riedi hit his backhand long on match point - a huge smile across his face. Riedi, who got into a row with German umpire Miriam Bley after suggesting she allowed the Brit to take too long between points - and then apologised - admitted he simply had no chance. He said: "Oliver was a wall, a huge wall, who moved unbelievably. "I thought that he might get nervous at some point and give me a chance but he just didn't miss at all. Advertisement "He looked like a top-50 player out there and if he can play like that against Alcaraz, it will be tough to beat him." That would have seemed an unlikely prediction before Alcaraz took more than four-and-a-half hours to finally see off Fognini 7-5 6-7 7-5 2-6 6-1, the five-time Major winner at times looking almost lost for inspiration. 5 Wimbledon 2025 LIVE - follow all the latest scores and updates from a thrilling fortnight at SW19 Advertisement Alcaraz rushed to the support of a spectator who keeled over, leading to a 15-minute delay in the final set. And the Spaniard conceded: "The heat was brutal, really difficult to deal with. I felt really nervous to start with - because Wimbledon is just different to any other tournament. "I need to improve a lot but I know how to deal with tough situations. Champions always find a way to win." Quizzed over his next opponent, Alcaraz admitted: "I hadn't even heard his name until he qualified. Advertisement "But I watched a bit of his match before I went on court and he played some great tennis. "I cannot think I'm going to win easily because if I don't play my best, I can lose. If he is in the second round he deserves to be here, whatever his ranking." Tarvet's student status in the US means he cannot earn more than £7,300 in prize money in a calendar year, although he is allowed to discount "expenses" and to have sponsorship deals - he wore a TK Maxx patch against Riedi. On the SW19 prize money, he added: "I've got to find £60,000 or £70,000 of expenses. Tennis is an expensive sport. Advertisement "So, maybe I just pay my coaches a little bit extra or fly them business class. But I need to keep humble and make that happen." 5 Instead, he will have a priceless adventure against Alcaraz, boosted by his highly personal mental preparation. Tarvet explained: "My journal is a big thing for me. Advertisement "You could see on the court that I have a little notepad and write things that allow me to focus on what makes me good and gives me success. "Something that gives me comfort is focusing on those things. "Those little triggers that keep me in the right headspace. That's given me a lot of success. "Before or after practice, if there's a feeling, a thought I like, I write it down so I have it on paper and then can use it. Advertisement "When you're playing, especially in front of crowds, it's important not to let the moment get too big or lose your focus. It just keeps me grounded." Yet if he sends Alcaraz tumbling, you suspect even the journal will make it tough for Tarvet to keep grounded. 5 Tarvet signed autographs for his new fans at the end Credit: PA 5 The college student cannot claim the prize money Credit: PA
