Cristiano Ronaldo indicated on Monday that he could leave Al Nassr after declaring that a 'chapter is over' hours after the Saudi Pro League finished.
The 40-year-old Portuguese forward joined Al Nassr in 2022 from Manchester United and his contract with the Saudi club ends this summer.
A special transfer window runs from June 1-10 to allow the 32 clubs involved in the Club World Cup to sign players.
Al-Nassr aren't at the Club World Cup unlike fellow Saudi side Al Hilal.
FIFA president Gianni Infantino last week said 'there are discussions' over the former United, Real Madrid, Juventus and Sporting Lisbon star playing at the enlarged tournament in the United States starting on June 14.
'This chapter is over,' Ronaldo cryptically said on social media with a photo of him in an Al Nassr shirt.
'The story? Still being written. Grateful to all.'
Al Nassr lost in the semi-finals of the Asian Champions League last month to Japan's Kawasaki Frontale and finished third in the Saudi Pro League.
Ronaldo was the league's top goal scorer on 24.
Last year, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner said he could end his career with Al Nassr.
Ronaldo's great rival Lionel Messi will play at the Club World Cup with Inter Miami.
During a recent interview with YouTuber and streamer IShowSpeed, Infantino said: 'And Ronaldo might play for one of the teams as well at the Club World Cup.
'There are discussions with some clubs, so if any club is watching and is interested in hiring Ronaldo for the Club World Cup… who knows, who knows.'

‘It didn't fee like my Inter,' says wounded Inzaghi after final thrashing

'There is great disappointment and bitterness because the boys have had a great run this season' By Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi said he barely recognised his side as they fell to a deserved 5-0 defeat at the hands of Paris St Germain in the Champions League final on Saturday. PSG captured their first Champions League title in devastating style, recording the largest winning margin in the competition's history. The defeat marked a bitter end to a frustrating season for three-times European champions Inter, who fell short in three major competitions and finished without silverware. 'It absolutely didn't feel like my Inter out there — and the players are the first to know it,' said Inzaghi, whose side had reached the final with a thrilling 7-6 aggregate victory over Barcelona. Is there a hotter prospect in Europe right now than Désiré Doué? 👀🔥 📺 Stream #UCLFinal on DStv: — SuperSport Football ⚽️ (@SSFootball) May 31, 2025 For Inzaghi, the loss was particularly painful, coming two years after his team suffered a narrow defeat against Manchester City in the 2023 final in Istanbul. 'I think PSG deserved to win,' Inzaghi, whose side were last crowned European champions under Jose Mourinho in 2010, told reporters in a brief press conference. 'There is great disappointment and bitterness because the boys have had a great run this season, and it's hard to end with no titles. As a coach, I'm still proud. 'We're not satisfied with tonight's game. We approached it badly... We didn't play the final in the best way, but I thanked the boys.' PSG dominated proceedings, with teenager Desire Doue producing a scintillating performance, scoring twice and setting up Achraf Hakimi's opener, with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and substitute Senny Mayulu also finding the net. Inzaghi acknowledged his side's shortcomings, saying that Inter struggled to match PSG's intensity. 'We didn't play well technically, they got there first... We knew they were stronger than us, we knew we had to be better, but we fully deserved the defeat.' Inter must now regroup for the Club World Cup in the US in June, but Inzaghi admitted the pain of losing the Champions League final would not be easily erased and he would not be drawn on whether he would still be with the club at the tournament. 'Heavy defeats and finals leave their mark. We must all start again together,' he said. 'I won't answer that question [about the Club World Cup]. I came out of politeness and respect for you, this defeat hurts too much. 'You come out stronger from defeats, we've been through this before and the next year we lost the Scudetto. I spoke to the lads and we need to hold our heads high, knowing that we came up against a stronger team who deserved to win.'

Kaizer Chiefs product tipped for big things in Europe

The Kaizer Chiefs legend, Itumeleng Khune, knows FCSB star Siyabonga Ngezana very well. Find out why the Sebokeng-born defender is playing in Europe today. The Kaizer Chiefs academy product started playing first-team football for Amakhosi in 2017. After 123 games, six goals and one assist, Ngezana's dream came true when FCSB came knocking in December 2023. The player known as Magwegwe has won two SuperLiga titles with FCSB while also playing 16 games in UEFA Champions League qualifiers and the UEFA Europa League against Manchester United. 'As a senior, sometimes people think you can't be challenged. But Siya was the one telling me, 'Itu, let's go to the gym. Join me for sit-ups.' And I respected that. 'He was a gym freak, I won't lie. We'd be training three times a day. Morning session, field session, then ice baths. He took it seriously,' the Kaizer Chiefs icon added. Kaizer Chiefs news: FOUR players GONE 'Because of that discipline, he's now playing against teams like Manchester United in Europe. He's playing in the Europa League. He might even play in the Champions League next season. And who knows, he could be the next South African after Benni McCarthy to win it,' Khune concluded. PSG clinch first Champions League title with rampant victory over Inter Milan

THAT WINNING FEELING Paris Saint-Germain's Desire Doue (C) celebrates with Joao Neves (2R) and Marquinhos (R) after scoring PSG's third goal during the UEFA Champions League final football match against Inter Milan in Munich, southern Germany, on May 31, 2025. Picture: Ina Fassbender/AFP Image: Ina Fassbender/AFP Paris Saint-Germain won the Champions League for the first time as Luis Enrique's brilliant young side outclassed Inter Milan on Saturday in the most one-sided final ever with teenager Desire Doue scoring twice in an astonishing 5-0 victory. Doue supplied the pass for Achraf Hakimi to give PSG an early lead and the 19-year-old went from provider to finisher as his deflected shot doubled the advantage in the 20th minute. Doue scored again just after the hour mark, ending any doubt about the outcome before Khvicha Kvaratskhelia ran away to get the fourth and substitute Senny Mayulu, another teenager, made it five. Inter were simply no match for the French club, who recorded the biggest victory by any team in the final in the 70-year history of the European Cup and Champions League. PSG's Historic Champions League Victory: A Dream Come True "This means everything. It's our dream. It's incredible. The result is not by magic. I'm happy we did it like this," said PSG's Portuguese midfielder Vitinha. The triumph for the Parisians follows over a decade of huge investment from their Qatari owners, and comes five years after they lost to Bayern Munich in their only previous final appearance. Already domestic league and cup double winners, they are just the second French winners of European football's biggest prize –- Marseille were the first in 1993, when they beat AC Milan in a final also played in Munich. It is also a second Champions League for PSG coach Luis Enrique, who won with Lionel Messi's Barcelona in 2015. PSG's Youthful Dominance: A New Era in the Champions League This youthful PSG side is arguably the best the competition has seen since, one that has been intelligently pieced together over the last two years and fully unleashed this season following the departure of Kylian Mbappe. "It was the objective since the start of last season to make history. I have felt a really strong connection with the players and the supporters," Luis Enrique told broadcaster Canal Plus. For a bewildered Inter, there was to be no first Champions League title since 2010 as they failed to add to their three previous triumphs in the competition. Simone Inzaghi's side have got to the final twice in three seasons and lost both, and this defeat comes a week after they missed out on the Serie A title to Napoli. They end the campaign trophyless, and their ageing side will need to be rebuilt. "PSG absolutely deserved to win this match. We are very disappointed," admitted Inzaghi. "As a coach I am proud of our campaign, but we're not satisfied with tonight's game. PSG outplayed us. "I thanked the players for what they did this season. We won no silverware, but I'm proud."
