Donald Trump likens US strikes on Iran to atomic bombing of Hiroshima
Donald Trump has compared US strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities to the World War II bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Trump said action from the US had set Iran's nuclear program back decades and ended the conflict between Iran and Israel, likening it to atomic strikes on Japan in 1945.
'That hit ended the war. I don't want to use an example of Hiroshima, I don't want to use an example of Nagasaki, but that was essentially the same thing,' he said at a Nato summit in The Hague in The Netherlands on Wednesday.
'That ended that war, this ended (this) war.
'If we didn't take (the nuclear facilities) out, (Iran and Israel) would be fighting right now.'
