Real Madrid Make Major Decision on Pursuing €45M-Rated Man Utd, PSG Target

PSG seem to be leading the race to sign Franco Mastantuono, one of South America's brightest young prospects, ahead of the summer transfer window. The French giants have been keeping a close eye on the 16-year-old River Plate midfielder, and according to TyC Sports journalist Germán García Grova, they've already begun talks and consider him a priority target. Advertisement Manchester United, though, are reportedly the most serious contender so far. Transfer insider César Luis Merlo claims the Premier League club has scouted Mastantuono in person and is well aware of his €45 million release clause—a key detail that could shape how the competition unfolds. Will Real Madrid edge PSG for Franco Mastantuono? On Wednesday, Sky Sport's Florian Plettenberg reported that Real Madrid are now in direct talks with Mastantuono. Juni Calafat is in Buenos Aires negotiating with both the player and River Plate, and Mastantuono is open to the move. José Ángel Sánchez is pushing to get the deal done in time for the Club World Cup. Advertisement PSG, with Luis Campos leading the effort, haven't given up yet. Journalist Graeme Bailey recently shared that Man Utd is in talks with the young talent, but the player prefers a move to Madrid. Still, any transfer won't take place before 2026. 'United have spoken to his people this week,' Bailey told United in Focus. 'However, the thing with Mastantuono is that although he turns 18 in August, I have had it confirmed to me that he won't be moving until 2026. 'United are in the running, but the plan wasn't for him to move this summer anyway. Real Madrid are in the driving seat, but United are not out of the equation. Advertisement 'I don't think anyone will pay his €45m (£38m) release clause, though. But he really does want to join Madrid, however, we will have to see because there isn't really room for him at Madrid. 'But over the last 10 days, United have definitely held talks with him. Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool are also interested.'

How to keep up with all the riveting tennis matches on TV all summer long

Advertisement These days, with dozens of networks and streaming services constantly competing over rights to various sporting events, it can be tough to know where and when to catch anything at all. So if you're also looking to lose yourself in hours upon hours of one of the most individually intense sports on offer, let's go ahead and uncomplicate the schedule for you. Roland-Garros (aka 'the French Open') will end this weekend with the women's final on Saturday morning and the men's on Sunday. In the meantime, you can catch cable coverage on TNT, TruTV, or the Tennis Channel, or else stream each and every match on Max. Echoing Peacock's Olympics and Premier League coverage, Max has been offering a 'multiview' option to view multiple matches at once — which I personally find extremely overwhelming, but it can be useful in terms of figuring out which match-up might be the most compelling at any given time. Advertisement When Wimbledon begins on June 30, it will be available to watch on the Tennis Channel and ESPN, and to stream on ESPN+. The same goes for the US Open, which kicks off on August 17 and runs all the way through September 7, at which point I'll reluctantly have to admit that the summer's actually over. Until then, though, I'll enjoy the incredible athleticism and myriad storylines tennis always has on display (Let's just say that ' I'll root for charismatic characters like Gael Monfils and marvel at the skill of titans like Aryna Sabalenka and Carlos Alcaraz. I'll get way too invested in the so-called 'Cinderella stories' of underdogs like Caroline Framke is a media analyst who previously served as Variety's chief TV critic. Her other work can be found at The Atlantic, Vulture, Vox, and more. A Smith College graduate, Framke is currently based in New York City.

🚨 Chelsea complete the signing of Ipswich star Liam Delap

Champions League-bound Chelsea have begun their planned summer shopping spree in earnest after officially completing the £30m signing of Ipswich star Liam Delap. Delap, 22, was the standout performer for the Tractor Boys across the ill-fated 2024/25 Premier League campaign, and despite dropping back down to the Championship, the England youth international impressed the big boys to the tune of 12 goals; 33% of Ipswich's total number across the season. Despite a number of attacking assets at Stamford Bridge, including Senegalese international Nicholas Jackson, Blues boss Enzo Maresca now added further depth of quality in west London ahead of their return to Europe's premier club competition. Advertisement Delap will now once again team up with fellow Manchester City academy product Cole Palmer in what could become an impressive attacking duo down the line. 📸 Gareth Copley - 2025 Getty Images
