Tickets available from May 16 for Boks-Italy Test in Gqeberha
Tickets for the Springboks' eagerly awaited match against Italy at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha on July 12 will go on sale on Friday May 16, SA Rugby have announced.
The Boks take on the Italians in a two-Test series in Pretoria and Gqeberha, before meeting Georgia in Mbombela in the Castle Lager Incoming Series as the Boks return to home soil in Test match action for the first time since September last year.
Tickets will be available exclusively from Ticketmaster.
Details of an additional home match against the world-famous Barbarians will also be announced shortly. Tickets for the Boks' home matches in their defence of the Castle Lager Rugby Championship title will go on sale one month later, on Friday June 13.
The start to the Bok season not only represents an opportunity to see the back-to-back World Champions in local action but also launches a year in which the Boks will be fighting to defend their No 1 world ranking to secure the most favourable draw for Rugby World Cup 2027.
SA Rugby CEO Rian Oberholzer said: 'This is more than just the start of the season — it's a chance for South Africans to once again unite behind a team that brings pride to the nation in a critical year for World Cup preparation.

It's normally something that is non-negotiable when it comes to Shukri Conrad's coaching philosophy. The Proteas mentor likes to play the game on the front-foot. He wants his charges to fight fire with fire and be aggressive on the field of play without doing something stupid. So it must have been hard for the coach sitting on the Lord's balcony wrapped up in his jacket on a cool London summer's day watching his batters trying to survive in the World Test Championship final against one of the best seam attacks the game has ever seen. Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins and Josh Hazelwood were getting the new Duke ball to talk and do all sorts of things up and down the infamous slope at the 'Home of Cricket'. At one stage just eight runs were scored during a tense 70-ball period, as the Aussies launched a fightback after being dismissed for 212 shortly after the tea break on the first day. The South Africans hardly landed a punch, never mind throwing one during their time at the crease. They just tried to survive, instead of trying something to get these Australians off their line and length. As we saw in the first innings, trying to survive on this pitch is not the way to go, as Steve Smith showed during his knock when he counter-punched after the Aussies also lost early wickets. But the Proteas under Conrad fought back from these situations on many occasions over the last year, coming back from a similar shaky start on a seaming pitch against Sri Lanka in Durban to win that match. The same thing happened against the same opposition in Gqeberha. In those matches the Proteas counter-punched brilliantly, getting themselves off the ropes to land some telling blows which set up victories in both matches. Of course, the Aussie bowling line-up is a lot better than Sri Lanka's attack, but a similar mindset is needed to try and repair the damage that was inflicted in the last hour on the first day at Lord's.

Springbok fans urged to act fast for tickets
The Springboks are heading ever closer to their season-opener against the Barbarians on 28 June, as well as the July Tests against Italy and Georgia in July. All these games are expected to be close to sold out, but it's undoubtedly the tickets for the Springboks' home matches in their defence of the Rugby Championship title that will be snapped up in no time. These tickets go on sale on Friday, 13 June at 09:00, and SA Rugby has urged supporters to act fast to avoid disappointment and to be in the virtual queue on Ticketmaster soon as they can. Tickets are priced from R525 for the two Wallabies Tests at Ellis Park in Johannesburg (16 August) and the DHL Stadium in Cape Town (23 August). For the clash against Argentina at Kings Park in Durban in the penultimate round of the competition on 27 September, the cheapest tickets are R250. Fans are advised that Ticketmaster is the only official ticket outlet. SA Rugby also urgently warned fans not to buy from any other source.
