George Clooney roasts his brunette hair: 'Midlife crisis'

New York Post2 days ago

It'll be one fine day for George Clooney when he can go back to his roots.
The actor, 64, isn't thrilled about dyeing his hair brunette for his Broadway play 'Good Night, and Good Luck' — and will return to silver fox status when the takes his final bow on June 8.

'It's bad. It's still dark on top, but it's gray at the bottom,' he confessed while on 'Late Night with Seth Meyers' on Monday. 'So you get that really nice-looking grow-out of gray.'
Clooney wore a hat on the show, telling Myers, 51, he wanted to 'hide' his hair transformation.
'The last show is Sunday,' he added. 'We do a matinee, and then by the time we go to the Tonys that night, it'll be gone.'
Meyers told the 'Ticket to Paradise' star that his hair looked 'great on stage,' as Clooney sarcastically quipped: 'Sure.'

'It really looks bad,' Clooney went on. 'It looks like [I'm] going through some horrible midlife crisis. I'm 64 — midlife is a little stretch.'
Meanwhile, the 'Wolfs' alum expressed his wife, Amal Clooney, found his new look 'funny,' but he did note she will 'be glad when it's gone.'

Clooney has some ideas of what look could come next.
'I may have a shaved head. I may look like Yul Brynner,' he detailed.
'Good Night, and Good Luck,' which opened on April 3, marked Clooney's first time on Broadway as he portrays Edward R. Murrow, the journalist who wrote the 1954 exposé piece on Senator Joseph McCarthy.
The play is adapted from the 2005 movie of the same name. Clooney directed and co-wrote the film, which also starred David Strathairn, Patricia Clarkson and Robert Downey Jr.

However, in 2005, he played Murrow's producer Fred Friendly.
The show nabbed several nominations at the 2025 Tony Awards, including Clooney garnering a nod for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Play.
The production is also up for Best Scenic Design of a Play, Best Sound Design of a Play, Best Lighting Design of a Play and Best Costume Design of a Play.
In March, Clooney reflected on playing Fred Friendly 20 years ago.
'Murrow had a gravitas to him that at 42 years old I didn't,' he said while on 60 Minutes. 'I wasn't able to pull off.'

This time around, he feels differently.
'It's exciting to be here, you know?' Clooney said about his Broadway debut. 'Let's not kid ourselves. It's nerve-wracking and there's a million reasons why it's dumb to do.'
'It's dumb to do because you're coming out and saying, 'Well, let's try to get an audience to take this ride with you back to 1954.''

Clooney grew up in newsrooms beside his father, Nick Clooney, who was a journalist and anchor.
'When I was 12 years old, my dad was working at WKRC in Cincinnati,' the star reflected. 'I would run the teleprompter.'
Having it be his first time in live theater, Clooney stated about the audience, 'I'm not looking at them.'
He teased: 'I'm putting my wife in the very, very, very back.'

Eminem's Early Albums Return To The Charts Together

Eminem scores four albums on the U.K.'s Official Hip-Hop and R&B chart this week, with The Marshall ... More Mathers LP and The Slim Shady LP returning. Thornton/Getty Images) Some weeks are better than others for Eminem on the charts – but none of them are bad. When it comes to rankings around the world, the generation-defining rapper never disappears for very long. He usually sees at least one or two of his full-lengths find space on lists in a number of countries, and sometimes, a handful of tracks perform well enough to do the same. In the United Kingdom, Eminem's albums are performing especially well at the moment, as several classics continue to chart while multiple projects return. It's a somewhat surprisingly busy period for him in the nation, despite the fact that he has nothing brand new out, and he isn't actively promoting anything at the moment. This week, The Marshall Mathers LP reappears on two charts across the Atlantic. It breaks back onto the Official Hip-Hop and R&B Albums chart at No. 31. Simultaneously, it becomes a bestseller again as it reenters the Official Album Downloads list at No. 81. In the past, The Marshall Mathers LP has ruled the genre-specific tally, but it has only climbed as high as No. 29 on the ranking of top-selling downloads in the U.K. Joining The Marshall Mathers LP on the Official Hip-Hop and R&B Albums chart is The Slim Shady LP. The early career effort finds a home at No. 24 after not appearing on the list at all last frame. Like The Marshall Mathers LP, it too has previously dominated the same ranking. Eminem owns four spaces on the Official Hip-Hop and R&B Albums chart this frame. As The Marshall Mathers LP and The Slim Shady LP return, they join The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) and Curtain Call: The Hits. Those two titles dip slightly, landing at Nos. 22 and 26, respectively. Of those two, only Curtain Call: The Hits manages to find space on other rankings in the same country. It also lives on both the Official Albums chart and Official Albums Streaming ranking, and it climbs slightly on the two tallies. Curtain Call 2, the sequel to the hugely successful original compilation, is also present on a number of rankings in the U.K. Interestingly, it does not find space on the Official Hip-Hop and R&B Albums chart. Instead, it places on both the Official Albums and Official Albums Streaming rankings, as it's still performing well — just not quite well enough to rank among the 40 bestselling titles in those specific styles.

Madonna Announces A New Album Dropping Next Month

Madonna announces Veronica Electronica, a remix album of Ray of Light era tracks, arriving July 25 ... More and led by 'Skin (The Collaboration Remix Edit).' (Photo by Kevin Mazur/MG25/Getty Images for The Met Museum/Vogue) For several months now, Madonna has been teasing the next chapter of her musical career. The superstar revealed on social media not long ago that she's working on a follow-up to her album Confessions on a Dance Floor, which she is currently referring to as Confessions 2. There's no word yet on when fans will get to hear anything from that project. But they won't have to wait long before they can listen to new tunes from the icon, as she has announced a completely separate full-length that's set to arrive in only a few weeks. Madonna has announced a new album titled Veronica Electronica. The full-length remix set is expected to drop on July 25. The first tune from the project, "Skin (The Collaboration Remix Edit)," was shared at the time of the announcement. Veronica Electronica features seven previously unreleased and rare remixes of songs from her album Ray of Light. The tracklist includes smashes like "Frozen," "Nothing Really Matters," and, of course, the title track, as well as several other cuts. Fans who pick up a copy of the album will also be treated to a never-before-shared demo of the song "Gone, Gone, Gone," which wasn't originally featured on Ray of Light. According to a press release announcing Veronica Electronica, the album was apparently conceived back in 1998 during her Ray of Light era. When the full-length took off and became hugely successful—perhaps more so than some in her camp were expecting—the remixes were put aside and never revisited until now, more than a quarter-century later. It's now been almost six years since Madonna released a new studio full-length. Madame X, her fourteenth project, dropped in the summer of 2019. The Grammy winner has reportedly already played Confessions 2 for some people, but when it comes to the general public, she's remaining quiet about the set. Madonna is also currently busy prepping a Netflix miniseries about her life, which was once meant to be a feature-length film, but which appears to have shifted mediums, perhaps in order to fit more story in.
