MnDOT will close I-94 in both directions over the weekend

MnDOT will close I-94 in both directions over the weekend originally appeared on Bring Me The News. A major road closure is coming to the Twin Cities this weekend. The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) will close I-94 in both directions between I-35W and Huron Boulevard from 10 p.m. on Friday, June 13, through 5 a.m. on Monday, June 16. The closure is part of ongoing work on five bridges that has reduced the interstate to two lanes in both directions over recent weeks. Additionally, five ramps along I-94 will close at 9 p.m. on Friday, June 13, and will remain closed through late August. Per the MnDOT, those ramps include: Northbound I-35W to eastbound I-94 South 6th St. to eastbound I-94 Huron Blvd. to and from eastbound I-94 Riverside Ave. to eastbound I-94 Cedar Ave. to eastbound I-94 All lanes along I-94 will reopen for the Minnesota State Fair from mid-August through Labor Day to accommodate the traffic that accompanies the Great Minnesota Get-Together. After the fair concludes, work will resume "to complete the removal of crossovers and other items such as signage and lighting," per the MnDOT. Tata Motors plans $4.1 billion investment in new models, EV production

-- Tata Motors (NYSE:TTM), India's leading electric vehicle manufacturer, has announced plans to invest up to 350 billion rupees ($4.1 billion) over the next five years, according to the company's latest investor day presentation released on Monday. The investment is aimed at strengthening its position as the top electric vehicle maker in the country, amidst growing competition and a nationwide push towards the adoption of clean vehicles. The company, known for producing the Nexon and Punch sport utility vehicles, plans to nearly double its portfolio from eight models to 15. This expansion will include the launch of more electric vehicles and compressed natural gas cars, as well as improvements to the technology features of its vehicles. Despite detailing its five-year investment plan, Tata Motors did not disclose its investment plan for the current year, which runs until March 2026. However, it did reveal last month that the domestic businesses, including the commercial vehicles segment, would have a capital expenditure of approximately 80 billion rupees. In terms of market share, Tata Motors has set a target of 16% by March 2027, with ambitions to increase this to between 18% and 20% by March 2030. Portions of Jackson Street bridge in St. Paul closed for repairs

A stretch of the Jackson Street bridge between Empire Drive and Acker Street, north of Pennsylvania Avenue in St. Paul was closed on Friday until repairs can be made to the bridge piers, the Ramsey County Public Works department announced. The closure is expected to last about three months. The county decided to close the bridge 'out of an abundance of caution' following a routine inspection and consultation with St. Paul. The two-lane, 1930s-era bridge carries an estimated 3,500 vehicles a day. The bridge has been under load restrictions and the county has plans for reconstruction of the bridge in 2028. The county public works department will consult with bridge experts next week to determine repairs needed until the reconstruction occurs. More information will be coming.
