Teen sentenced after setting fire to Taunton community minibuses
An 18-year-old who admitted setting fire to minibuses used by people with disabilities and schoolchildren has been sentenced to a two-year detention.The teen, who cannot be named as he was 17 at the time of the offences, carried out the arson attack at Silk Mills Park and Ride in Taunton on 26 April, destroying seven minibuses, including four specially-adapted vehicles worth up to £250,000.He was also charged with one count of arson to a car, criminal damage to two cars, affray and assault by beating an emergency worker.Det Sgt William Instance, of Avon and Somerset Police, said the "huge" damage to the minibuses "has had a significant impact on the local community".
The teenager pleaded guilty to all six offences last month.On Thursday at Exeter Magistrates Court, he was given a two-year custodial sentence and ordered to pay £600 compensation to those whose vehicles were damaged.

COPS are worried about using force when making arrests after a colleague was sacked for his 'aggressive' detaining of a knife-carrying teen. The Dorset Police Federation is seeking 'urgent clarification' from senior officers after PC Lorne Castle was found guilty of gross misconduct. He stepped in after the 15-year-old was suspected of assaulting two people, one and elderly man, in Bournemouth. Father-of-three Castle, 46 — winner of a national bravery award last year — had pinned him against a wall before taking him to the ground. Former officer Keith Clothier said: 'A good cop has had his career flushed down the toilet, for what? "Failing to show courtesy and respect to a knife-carrying thug. 'We continue to support our colleagues where they use force in a lawful and proportionate way and the standards of behaviour, that the public expect, are upheld." Nottingham Forest close in on Botafogo trio after holding productive talks with Brazilian club
Nottingham Forest have held further productive talks over signing three Botafogo players. Those players are centre-back Jair Cunha, striker Igor Jesus and left-back Cuiabano.
