Promoting the culture of falconry among young people
The initiative, which took place, on Sunday, at the club's headquarters, aimed to promote the culture of falconry among young people and preserve this authentic tradition, which represents one of the pillars of the national identity of the United Arab Emirates.
The initiative saw the distribution of several falcons to participating children amid an enthusiastic atmosphere filled with deep-rooted Emirati heritage and values.
Enhancing environmental awareness
Through this event, the club worked to teach children the basics and skills of falconry, in addition to instilling a sense of responsibility and enhancing their environmental awareness in line with the values of respect for nature and preserving its diversity.
A symbol of chivalry
Those in charge of the initiative emphasised that the "Falconer in Every Home" event stems from the club's belief in the importance of spreading the sport of falconry, which is a symbol of chivalry, courage, and belonging to the land. They explained that the club is keen to hold this initiative annually using an integrated educational approach that provides a safe and training environment that enables children to acquire skills through a well-thought-out scientific and practical approach. This contributes to building a new generation of falconers who carry the banner of this heritage with confidence and pride, continuing to pass it on to the future with love and generosity.
Acquiring heritage skill
The participating children and their parents expressed their great happiness with this unique experience, which opened up broad horizons for them to acquire distinct heritage skills that combine the joy of learning with the honour of preserving an integral part of the UAE's history.
Everyone agreed that the initiative represents a golden opportunity to strengthen their connection to identity, nationalism and instilling values of pride in the glorious past in the souls of rising generations, stressing that the Sharjah Falconers Club, through this work, continues its pioneering role in preserving and promoting Emirati heritage as a living and renewable part of daily life in society.

UAE lottery: 19-year-old Emirati woman 'in shock' after winning Dh100,000

For a 19-year-old Emirati woman from Sharjah, an ordinary day at work turned into an unforgettable moment when she discovered she had won Dh100,000 in the UAE Lottery 's Lucky Chance Draw. 'I was at work when I logged into my account and saw the message: Congratulations! I just sat there staring at the screen in shock,' she said. 'Later, I received a confirmation call, and that's when it really sank in. It felt surreal, like a huge blessing from God.' Choosing to remain anonymous, the young winner shared how a chance encounter with a short video led her to take a leap of faith. 'It was actually a short story I watched on my iPad that got me thinking,' she said. 'It was about how people wait for change without taking the first step. That inspired me. I searched for lotteries in the UAE and came across this one. I started setting aside a small amount each month to participate. And now, here I am!' Rather than spend the money lavishly, the Sharjah resident plans to use her winnings mindfully. 'I want to do something good with part of the money as a way of giving thanks,' she said. 'I also plan to buy a car eventually and save the rest for the future.' Reflecting on the experience, she said the win has changed her outlook on life. 'It reminded me that taking small chances can lead to big rewards - not just financially, but also in belief and hope,' she said. 'Sometimes just showing up or taking that first step can make all the difference.' Though she hasn't yet told her family, she shared the news with her best friend. 'She's always been by my side. I plan to do something special for her if I ever win the grand prize.'
