The Chief Minister requested for early reimbursement of the remaining Rs 367.69 crore under the Central Road Infrastructure Fund to the state government and approval of the proposed Rishikesh bypass project. The Chief Minister thanked the Union Minister for giving positive assurance for all the projects.
Earlier in the day, CM Dhami met Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Bhupendra Yadav and requested approval for crucial projects aimed at strengthening the state's infrastructure and addressing environmental challenges.
During the meeting, CM Dhami sought environmental clearance and the transfer of forest land for the 120MV Sirkari Bhyol Rupasiyabagh Hydroelectric Project on the Gauriganga River. This project is vital for the state's energy needs and development.
The Chief Minister also requested approval from the National Wildlife Board (NBWL) for a ropeway project from Triveni Ghat, Rishikesh to Neelkanth Mahadev Temple. Expressing his gratitude for the Union Minister's support, CM Dhami emphasized that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state government is balancing ecological conservation with economic development. He conveyed that these initiatives would not only enhance infrastructure but also provide much-needed relief to the common people. (ANI)

Will Zerodha go for an IPO? Here's what Nithin Kamath said

Zerodha co-founder and CEO Nithin Kamath has ruled out any plans for an initial public offering (IPO), even as the company prepares for a temporary slowdown in its core broking business and eyes a long-term transformation into a full-scale financial services conglomerate, including a foray into banking, according to a report from CNBC TV18. ADVERTISEMENT Kamath said Zerodha has enough capital to execute its growth plans independently. 'We continue to believe there's no reason to IPO. Being listed on exchanges is tough for a company like us,' he said, making it clear that the firm will remain privately held for the foreseeable future. Kamath admitted that the broking business is likely to witness a 10–20 percent decline in the near term, attributing the weakness to slower market activity in Q1 FY26. However, he maintained that the company remains confident of achieving Rs 10,000 crore in revenue by the end of FY26, without increasing its brokerage rates. Despite the expected dip in trading volumes, Kamath said Zerodha is well-positioned due to its consistent profitability and financial strength. The company reported a 62% jump in profit to Rs 4,700 crore in FY24, while revenue rose 21% to Rs 8,320 crore. Additionally, Zerodha holds Rs 1,000 crore in unrealised gains, further strengthening its balance sheet.'Given the profitability of the last three years, our net worth is almost 40% of the customer funds that we manage. It makes us one of the safest brokers to trade with,' Kamath ahead, Kamath reaffirmed the company's broader ambition to evolve into a diversified financial services powerhouse. Over the next decade, Zerodha aims to transition into a full-fledged financial conglomerate, and the roadmap includes eventual entry into banking, pending a regulatory nod for a banking licence. ADVERTISEMENT Zerodha, which revolutionised retail investing in India through its discount broking model, is now the country's second-largest stock broker by active client base. The company continues to maintain a lean, profitable, and conservative approach to growth, with a clear preference for independence over public listing. Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah congratulates RCB, confirms participation in felicitation ceremony at Vidhana Soudha

Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], June 4 (ANI): Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) team after their historic triumph in the Indian Premier League (IPL), securing their first-ever title with a six-run victory over Punjab Kings (PBKS). The Chief Minister confirmed his presence at the grand felicitation event organised by the state government. 'There is a program today at 4 PM in Vidhana Soudha. I, along with the Governor and ministers, will participate in the program,' he said. The ceremony will see the RCB players being officially honoured by the Karnataka government on the grand steps of Vidhana Soudha. The event marks a proud moment for the state and its passionate cricket supporters, as RCB finally ends an 18-year wait for the coveted IPL trophy. Earlier, the Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwara outlined the event details and said, 'At the grand steps of Vidhana Soudha at 4 o'clock, the RCB players will come here and the Honourable Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, and the government will felicitate them. The program may be about 45 minutes to 1 hour. After the felicitation, the Honourable Chief Minister will personally congratulate them, and then definitely somebody on behalf of the team will speak, most probably, though I don't know yet who that will be. That is the program we have organised.' Earlier, Andy Flower, head coach of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), highlighted the special moment for RCB fans and the team, emphasising the hard work and dedication required to win the Indian Premier League (IPL) amidst tough competition. The wait for the title continues for PBKS, who reached their first final in 11 years under the leadership of Shreyas Iyer and head coach Ricky Ponting. However, after 18 years, skipper Rajat Patidar has lifted the title for RCB, with their superstar batter Virat Kohli getting his first-ever IPL trophy after 18 years with the team. 'It's a special moment for all our RCB fans in particular, but also for us in the dressing room. It's been quite a campaign, and you know how much hard work, sweat, tears, and thought go into trying to win an IPL. 10 great teams are going hard at it,' Andy Flower said in the post-match press conference. Andy spoke about a particular special feeling for Virat Kohli after winning the IPL in his 18th year of competing in the tournament, and expressed his happiness for him. 'I think it's a particularly special feeling that Virat, in his 18th year of competing in the IPL, I think that also makes it special for everyone involved. And I'm happy for him and proud of the way that he's driven the side forward. So special moments,' he said. (ANI)

Every country condemned Pahalgam incident, stood with us in fight against terrorism: Rajeev Rai

New Delhi [India], June 4 (ANI): Samajwadi Party MP Rajeev Rai, a member of the all-party delegation that visited five countries following the Pahalgam terror attack, said that the outreach effort helped clear misconceptions about Pakistan and cross-border terrorism. He said the visit helped build international support against terrorism emanating from Pakistan. Speaking to ANI, Rai said, 'We visited five countries -- Russia, Slovenia, Greece, Latvia and Spain. In all five countries, they were either misinformed or had no information at all. We cleared their doubts through evidence and our arguments. I told them the history of Pakistan at several locations. I told them that we attained independence together -- one became the largest democracy of the world, and the other became the biggest terrorist nation of the world.' Rai pointed out that one common suggestion from all the countries was to engage in dialogue with Pakistan. However, he said the delegation responded by questioning the practicality of holding talks with a country where the military controls key decisions. Rai told ANI, 'We received one suggestion from everywhere - You should talk to Pakistan. We said that yes we have taken your advice, but let us know with whom we should talk... Pakistan has a puppet government. It has been the history of Pakistan that whichever civilian government thinks of behaving like a civilian government, is either jailed, thrown out of the country or is an Army which sells milk, chips, cement and deals in the real estate business. So, for them terrorism is also a business.' He accused Pakistan of misusing international funds, saying,'They seek help from Muslim countries by saying one thing and then seek funds from institutions and then fund terrorism. In such a situation, it is the voice of 140 crore people that Pakistan's terrorism will not be tolerated.' Rai also referred to past peace efforts made by India and the betrayals that followed. 'Whenever we tried to have talks, Atal Bihari Vajpayee visited Lahore in a bus and when he was extending a hug, Musharraf was entering our country...,' the SP MP added. Rai expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the foreign outreach. 'After all examples, we are satisfied that wherever we went, every country eventually said that they condemn the Pahalgam incident and are with us in the fight against terrorism. We had a limited mandate. Now, it is up to the government how they go ahead on the ground we have set and what they do to isolate Pakistan,' HE said. SP MP Rajeev Rai was part of the delegation, led by DMK MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi. It also included Brijesh Chowta (BJP), Prem Chand Gupta (Rashtriya Janata Dal), Ashok Kumar Mittal (Aam Aadmi Party), and Former envoys Manjeev S Puri. The delegation briefed international partners on India's response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack and its broader fight against cross-border terrorism and engaged with leaders in Spain, Greece, Slovenia, Latvia, and Russia.
