iOS 26, iPadOS 26, more: Apple to reportedly mark operating systems by year
Apple is reportedly planning to change the naming convention for all its operating systems. According to a report by 9to5Google, citing Bloomberg, the upcoming iOS update will not be called iOS 19 as previously expected. Instead, it will be branded as iOS 26, part of a new year-based naming strategy. The change will apply across Apple's ecosystem, including iPadOS 26 for iPads, macOS 26 for Macs, watchOS 26 for the Watch series, and more.
Apple OS: Expected new names
iOS 26 (instead of iOS 19)
iPadOS 26 (instead of iPadOS 19)
macOS 26 (instead of macOS 16)
watchOS 26 (instead of watchOS 12)
tvOS 26 (instead of tvOS 19)
visionOS 26 (instead of visionOS 3)
According to Bloomberg, Apple's goal is to bring consistency across its platforms and make the branding easier to follow for both customers and developers. The move is reportedly part of a broader strategy to streamline its product ecosystem.
WWDC 2025: What to expect
At WWDC, Apple is expected to introduce major visual changes across its entire lineup—not just iOS, macOS, and iPadOS, but also watchOS, tvOS, and visionOS. The redesign will be inspired by visionOS, featuring glass-like UI elements, updated icons, and more streamlined navigation to create a consistent visual language across devices.
AI-powered features: Intelligent battery optimisation that learns from user habits, along with a new lock screen indicator showing estimated charging time.
Health app overhaul: AI-powered coaching system offering personalised wellness advice, expert-led video content, and improved fitness tracking.
Redesigned Camera app: Incorporates a transparent, glass-like interface influenced by visionOS, with simplified controls.
Siri upgrade: A major overhaul to make Siri more intuitive and context-aware. It will support complex prompts, in-app actions, on-screen awareness, and personalised assistance.
Third-party AI integration: Apple is reportedly in talks with companies such as Google, Anthropic, and Perplexity to integrate their AI models—like Gemini and Claude—alongside or in place of OpenAI's ChatGPT in its Apple Intelligence suite.

Google is holding event in June for Pixel 10 series, no one is invited except…
Google is reportedly holding a 'special event' for Pixel 10 series of smartphones, days after The Android Show and Google I/O 2025 . The company has sent invitations for an exclusive "pre-launch event" in June, offering a sneak peek at the Pixel 10 series and other "upcoming devices." While the timing suggests an earlier reveal for partners, it does not necessarily indicate an expedited Made by Google 2025 public launch. According to a report by 9to5google, the email invitation, quickly shared on Reddit over the weekend, details "Pixel Penthouse" – an "exclusive pre-launch event" designed for Google's "biggest retail and press partners" in the UK. Its purpose is to provide a "sneak preview of our upcoming devices pre-release." Who can attend the Pixel Penthouse event Interestingly, Google is extending this exclusive opportunity to 25 "lucky Superfans." These chosen individuals will attend the 90-minute event in London on June 27, where they are expected to get a first look at the Pixel 10 series and likely the Pixel Watch 4 . The invitation promises "hands on with pre-release Pixel devices and features," along with a Q&A session with Google employees. Attendees will presumably be required to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA). The cover image accompanying the invitation reportedly displays a generic Pixel phone, tablet, watch, and Buds – likely old stock imagery, though the designs are generally expected to remain consistent. When is the Pixel Penthouse event The event will be held on June 27, where the invitees "will get hands on with pre-release Pixel devices and features, get treated to some custom Pixel themed goodies, and sit in on a one-off interview/Q&A session with Googlers." Those who have got the invite must answer a few questions to be able to get access to the event. They have until June 4 to answer questions. The event comes around the same time when videos and photos on social media platforms suggested that Google is shooting promo videos of the upcoming Pixel smartphones. It has also been reported that the Made by Google event will be held in mid-August.

Siri Tricks: Unlock these hidden features to boost your iPhone experience today
If you own an iPhone, you likely use Siri for simple tasks like calling contacts or sending messages. But this Apple voice assistant can do much more than just handle basic commands. Since its introduction in 2011 with the iPhone 4s, Siri has evolved to offer several features that can help you save time and manage daily tasks efficiently. Here are some useful Siri tricks that you should try today to get more from your device. Before trying these tips, ensure Siri is activated on your iPhone. You can do this by going to Settings, selecting 'Siri & Search,' and enabling 'Listen for 'Hey Siri'' or 'Press Side Button for Siri,' depending on your model. If Siri often misunderstands you, retrain it to improve voice recognition. Open Settings, tap 'Siri & Search,' then 'Talk to Siri.' Toggle the option off and back on to start the voice training process. Follow the prompts by repeating the phrases shown on your screen. Speaking clearly and naturally during this step will help Siri respond more accurately. Siri sometimes mispronounces names from your contacts. You can fix this by teaching Siri the right pronunciation. When Siri says a name incorrectly, say, 'That's not how you pronounce [name].' Then open the Contacts app, select the person, tap 'Edit,' and add a 'Pronunciation' field under Notes. Enter the name phonetically. Siri will use this to pronounce names correctly from then on. Ask Siri for live sports scores, upcoming games, team schedules, or player stats. For example, say, 'When is the next Yankees game?' or 'What's the Golden State Warriors' schedule this week?' Siri will provide the latest details so you don't have to check apps or websites. If you want to keep track of where you parked, ask Siri to remember your car's location. Say, 'Remember where I parked my car' before leaving your vehicle. When you need to find it later, simply ask, 'Where did I park my car?' Siri will show the location on a map with directions. Siri can translate phrases into various languages without opening a separate app. Just say, 'Translate 'How are you?' to Spanish,' and Siri will display the translation immediately on your screen. This feature can help you communicate or understand foreign languages on the go. Siri can help you retrieve passwords stored in iCloud Keychain. Ask, 'Show me my Gmail password,' or 'Show me my bank password.' Siri will verify your identity using Face ID or Touch ID before displaying the saved passwords. This quick access can save time when logging in to apps or websites. If you use Apple AirTags to track items, you can ask Siri to find them when they are nearby. Say, 'Find my AirTag,' and Siri will guide you by showing directions or letting you know if the AirTag is within Bluetooth range.

iPhone 17e in the works? 4 upgrades we hope Apple makes over iPhone 16e
Apple, earlier this year, finally launched an updated, affordable iPhone model in the form of the iPhone 16e, which replaces the SE moniker. The model was previously tipped to be called iPhone SE4, but Apple ultimately went with the iPhone 16e branding. Now, the model serves as the cheapest phone Apple is currently producing, coming in at ₹ 59,900. The phone has proven to be a popular model for Apple, especially in countries like Japan and India. Having said that, new rumours have come out that paint a picture for the iPhone 17e, which is rumoured to be the next-generation model in the same category. This comes from tipster Instant Digital on Weibo, who says that the iPhone 17e is almost ready for the trial production stage, and the production line is being planned too. So, this could be good news for someone waiting it out for the next-generation model and who doesn't want to get on with the iPhone 16e. Having said that, here's what we want from the next-generation iPhone 17e and things Apple could improve upon. While it is understood that the E-series is Apple's budget line-up, or more affordable line-up, and it would not want the model to cannibalise its main flagship sales, the Dynamic Island has been around for a long time now, having debuted with the iPhone 14 Pro. And now that we are going to see iPhone 17-series models soon, it makes sense for the company to finally bring the premium Dynamic Island to its E-series as well. After all, the E-series is not entirely all that cheap, coming in at ₹ 59,900 in India. A big miss on the camera experience of the iPhone 16e was the loss of Cinematic Mode. Yes, it has a single lens, and that could be the reason why, but we have seen companies implement Cinematic Mode well, even with camera setups that are not as capable as the iPhone 16e's. If Apple wants, it can integrate Cinematic Mode somehow. So, this is a major feature which the iPhone 17e could eventually offer. Apple could bring more fun colours to the iPhone 17e. With the iPhone 16e, Apple only debuted two colours: black and white. Notably, for a phone of this category, having more colours would make sense. So, Apple should bring more fun colours to the line-up, perhaps reviving the Product Red colourway or something like yellow, purple, or blue, as it does with the iPhone 16. Apple should consider bringing a slightly larger screen size to the iPhone 17e. The iPhone 16e comes with a 6.1-inch display, and for some, this may be too small. So, Apple should try a good middle ground and opt for a 6.3-inch panel, similar to that of the iPhone 16 Pro. It would make for an ideal size that is not too big and not too small.
